I can't reinstall Elements 11

After my hard drive (with Windows 7) died, the computer was repaired with Windows 8.1 on it. When I went to download my previously purchased Elements 11 (I have the serial number) the download was in 2 parts. When I try to open 1 of 2 (PhotosopElements_11_LS15.7z) I get this error message: "The file archive part of Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 is missing. You need all parts in the same folder in order to extract Adobe Photoshop Elements 11. Please download all parts." Opening 2 of 2 (PhotoshopElements_11_WWEFDJ.exe) gives me this message: "How do you want to open this type of file (.7z)? Look for an app in the store."
I have no idea what any of this means and I can't get any help from live chat (they don't support Elements 11 anymore). Can anyone help??

Yes. All versions of PSE except versions 1, 3, 5 & 6 will work with Windows 8. The best option is a new computer with W8 and then do a clean install of Elements. Some difficulties may arise if upgrading the operating system on top of existing software. In those circumstances make sure you have your original disks or your download package, in case a re-install is necessary.

I am hoping someone online can help me.
I have a macbook laptop powered by OS X 10.6.4. My elements 8 installed fine when I originally bought it (a few months ago) and this is the first problem i've had.
Due to an error my by me (hand up) I deleted a file from my laptop which stopped my Elements 8 from working. What I did to try and remedy this was to uninstall all my Elements 8 and Bridge CS4 applications with a view to reinstalling it. Then major problem.
I load in my CD and double click the icon that appears on my desktop and find the file setup to start the installation process. All is working fine, I put in my serial number as requested and click ok, it then asks me to confirm I which programmes I want to install, I stay with the default as suggested on the CD and click Install.
Immediatly after a dialog box appears and says "Please Insert Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 to continue Installation". But it is already in there.
I have no idea what the problem is, I have not taken the CD out. It just stops.
Can anyone help. I can't see why this should happen.

Let us go on a clean up drive:
1. Please confirm that PSE 8 is/was the only Adobe application installed on the machine? (Reader is an exception)
2. If yes, then please remove the following folders:
Applications\Adobe Photoshop Elements 8\
Applications\Adobe Bridge CS4\
Applications\Adobe Extension Manager CS4\
Applications\Utilities\Adobe Utilities\
Applications\Utilities\Adobe Installers\
<Macintosh HD>\Library\Application Support\Adobe\
<Macintosh HD>\Library\Application Support\Logs\Adobe\
<Macintosh HD>\Library\Application Support\Preferences\com.adobe.....\
<Macintosh HD>\Users\<username>\Library\Application Support\Adobe\
To be on the safer side, after following the above steps, run the clean up script following the steps mentioned in the below link and make sure that no CS4 product or PSE 8 is listed in it:

Afterwards, try to install PSE 8 again. This time it should install fine...(Hope so... )

Yesterday I bought Elements 13 directly from Adobe and had no problems with the installation. Worked all day with the program - no problems - these came after restart of windows. Now elements started with error 16. Found a solution at the Adobe site, but got different windows compared to the demonstration and could not finish. You are allowed to install any Adobe software on two different machines and these can be activated automatically using the Internet connection.
There are times when you might have to install on third or fourth machines (or 3rd or 4th times) when your original machines have crashed or they have been stolen. In these cases, you you can re-install on any new machine you buy as replacement but for activation, you will need to pick up the phone and talk to Adobe sales staff who will gladly help you out. Just make sure you don't abuse them in any shape or form and always be polite and they will show you their real human feelings!!

Are you launching Pages from an icon in your Dock? Installing the update does not change the Dock icons & it does not remove the older versions. Go to your Applications folder & launch the new Pages from there.

You can't sign in because there is nothing to sign in to. For PSE 10 the only sign in was to photoshop.com, which has been dead and gone for a year and half. Just skip the sign in. Reinstalling will not change this.

i am trying to repair Photoshop Elements 3.0 by reinstalling it. The computer is launching the home page off of the CD and allowed me to install Adobe Reader 6.0. How can I reinstall/repair my PS Elements 3.0 without the disk? ( I also updated to 3.0.1 and this didnt help)
