I can't send Messages to certain people, but I can reply to their Messages

Hello,
I have an unlocked AT&T iPhone 4, currently using it with Telenor in Sweden. Everything works fine except for the Messages application.
When I try to send a message to my Swedish contacts, sometimes they receive it and other times they don't.
But where it gets weird is that if they send me a message, it will open a new "conversation" and I can reply in that new "conversation".
Also, sometimes, if they have iPhones with iMessage, when I send them a text, the bubble will stay green and it says it is being sent as a text message. But when they contact me, the bubbles are blue and it says it's an iMessage.
This also only happens with certain people, regardless of which kind of phone they have! It also never happens with my American contacts who have iMessage.
Anyone else experience something similar? I have no clue why this could be.

I cant send text to certain people

Recently my phone is acting up. I an iphone 4 unlocked with gevey sim running 4.3.5 and 4.10.01 unlocked for tmobile and all of the sudden it wont let me send texts to certain people and i cant recieve texts from them either. The sending bar will load to 90% and then it stoped with 10% left and says error. I try to resend but it doesnt work. I googled it and i deleted my conversation with the person, reset the phone, deleted then re-added the contact but it still doesnt work. But yet i am able to call them. I have not tried to restore it because it says i have to update the iphone if i want to restore it which i can do. So i need any ideas on what to do.

Like any electronic item, it sometimes gets inexplicably balled up. The reset is no different than rebooting a computer that is acting hinky. If you don't have to do it often, then it is not anythign to worry about. (I know - not the kind of tech talk you were probably expecting, but the words selected are about as scientific as you can get concerning this type of weirdness....)

Sending Files to Certain People Boots Me Off iChat!

I'm having a strange problem...
Some people I can send files to no problem, but to others...it'll get about halfway done, then just hang...and I'll eventually be logged out of iChat.
Anyone have this problem and/or have a fix?

Try this log on to AIM on port 443 rather than port 5190
Go to IChat > Preferences > Accounts.
Log out of AIM and then use the Server Settings tab
Set the port to 443.
Log back in again.

Can't send texts to certain people after switching phones.

I just switched from my old iPhone 4S to a iPhone 5S as part of my family's upgrade plan (this is through Sprint). Since restoring my phone from my backup saved on my laptop here, I've noticed an issue regarding my texting. I can text other iPhone users just fine via iMessaging. Other non-iPhone users, however, most notably my girlfriend and coworkers, are a different story. I very frequently have to resend messages to them or the message will send out extremely slowly. The "loading bar" at the top will progress to roughly 90% then just stop and idle for about 30-45 seconds, then give me an error or (rarely) send the text out. I've never had any issues like this on my 4S regardless of signal strength and have tried everything. Turning the phone off/on, toggling iMessage, etc., but none of it seems to work and I'm getting increasingly frustrated with this problem and would like some suggestions or help for fixing this as soon as possible.

Why i can't send iMessage to certain people even they are registered the iMessage account already?

i have no idea why it show that my friend is not registered with iMessage even i have chat with him a few times before... :s

My personal view on this is that the iMessages account has too few alert messages in this regard.
You seem to get that messages whether the person has never registered, has turned Off that registration or is out of range of Cell Phone and/or Wifi coverage.
i.e. there seems to be only one Alert messages not matter what the issue is at that moment in time.
NOTES.
Removing an Apple ID from an iPhone gets an alert Messages you will not be able to use the Name/ID anywhere - implying it will be removed from Messages on the Mac (I have not evidence that this happens).
What I have not tested is whether you can still iMessage that Name/ID (iMessaging "yourself" at this point is not actually a fair test as in from the Mac using that same Apple ID).

Sending SMS to certain people

My husband just got a Blackberry Curve w/ Nextel & I have a Rant w/ Sprint. I can send him text messages and he will recieve them, however if he responds or tries to send me a SMS message it will show on his phone that it was sent (has the green checkmark next to it), but I never receive it. He can also send & receive messages to & from other people who are not nextel and they receive them. BTW, I send & receive from all types of carriers including Nextel w/ no problems. Any ideas?

hmmm.. When you go to settings>Messages>send and recieve> are you signed in? Or does it say "Use your appleid for imessage" ? If so , does signing out and signing back in fix the issue?

You can send iMessages to other iOS devices, like iPad, iPhone, etc. Furthermore, the other iDevices users must have set up their iMessage.

I can't send messages or call people with my NEW iPhone 4s.

Hello.
I live in Sweden and I ordered my iPhone 4s some days ago, I got it on Wednesday.
Ever since I got it I noticed that I was having problems with my carrier, "Tele2". I can't send messages or even make calls, and I'm very disappointed. And I also can't connect to the 3G network at times, it just goes away, and this always leads to a reboot.
I have to restart my phone every 5 minutes, and THEN I can send about 1-2 messages, then it goes back to what it was before. Crap.
And I also called the people on "Tele2" they said that they don't know if it's the software or if it's the hardware. And that I simply have to wait until they know.
I'm just wondering. Is there anyone out there who's heard anything about solving any problems like these? Perhaps and update to 5.0.1 ? Please let me know, I would appreciate it very much!

They said that it wasn't them, they contacted Apple and they were aware of the problem. But still Apple didn't know if it was hardware of software problems.

I Can't Recieve or Send Messages To People Abroad Through Blackberry Messenger

Hi, I'm having huge trouble with my Blackberry Messenger. It's not letting me sending messages to any person abroad BUT I'm still able to send it to people in the same country (UK). This has never happened to me before and just happened suddenly this morning.
This has happened to someone I know and it eventually worked itself out after quite a long time, he couldn't send message abroad, couldn't recieve them and even couldnt use it through Yahoo Messenger or MSN. He went to the provider and they had no idea either.
This is a huge problem for me and I need to get this sorted out as soon as possible.
Does anyone have any idea what this could be and how it can be resolved???

You need to call your carrier/mobile provider support desk, and ask to have this escated up to the BlackBerry RIM level tech support.

Why can't I send multiple texts any more? I am on iphone 5 and it is only allowing me to send messages to 10 people at once! Previously on iphones 3 and 4s I could send to many more.

I use my phone for work and want to send to multiple staff groups or project leaders the same information at the same time and not all of them have email capable phones so text has always been the best solution.

22ms is a long time for your computer, but I am wondering about your network. Are you 10 base or 100 base? Switch or hub? Have you tried a direct connection with a crossover cable? Just trying to spark ideas here. I use TCP all the time but only at 500 ms intervals.

Incredible can't send messages to specific people

I can't send texts to specific people. I can receive texts from those people and everyone else perfectly fine.
The people who can't receive my texts are on Verizon as well. They do receive the texts eventually some eight-twelve hours after I send them.
I read through other threads about not being able to receive messages; I tried some of the suggestions there, but they do not resolve the problem.

Have you checked the contacts numbers to make sure they dont have the +1 in front of the numbers because for some reason it seems that when users import contacts info from social site apps this happen and the problem happens... The Thunderbolt has a option to change this but it seems that the Incredible dont... At least not from the users that I suggested this to before..
Check your contacts numbers and see if the +1 is present.
Also try changing Settings / Call / Assisted Dialing and uncheck Enable Assistaced Daling at top..

Can I turn on message receipts for certain people? I don't want everyone I know being able to see when I've read their messages, just a few people.

That setting only works for iMessages, and it's an all or nothing setting.
