I cannot access any of the documents I created in Pages since I downloaded the latest software update

I access any of the documents I created using the Pages App since I downloaded the latest software update.  Does anyone know how I can access these documents?

The same thing has happened to me - and there is no update in the App store. I have tried reinstalling, restarting, updating.. nothing works

  • What happened to the icon "Stop loading this page", when I downloaded the newest version of Foxfire?

In the previous edition of Foxfire, an arrow pointing clockwise was located near the 'back' - 'forward' button. This Stop Loading Page icon has disappeared. I liked that feature--it was helpful. How can I retrieve this feature?
It's late. I'll check my email for the answer tomorrow (5-31-11).

You either have to buy iPhoto again, or sign in with your old Apple ID.

  • I upgraded to Maverick and I can't access any of my documents.

When I upgraded to Maverick, I apparently set up a new account.  Now I cannot access any of my documents that were on my old account.  And I cannot get my old account opened on my Mac.  I had backed up my files using Time Machine before upgrading but now Time Machine will not let me open my documents.  It tells me that I am not authorized.  Someone suggested signing out of my new account and signing back in using my old account.  I can sign out but I don't have an option to sign back in using any account other than the new one or as a guest.  I need help.  I know very little about computers and this is driving me crazy trying to figure out how to get my documents back.

Apparently Mac OS compatibility with Microsoft Office does not extend to Lion...so beware!
I'm guessing that you have a very old version of Microsoft Office such as 2004 which AFAIK, is no longer supported by Microsoft.  Microsoft wrote that in PowerPC code, which OS X Snow Leopard supported via a translater called Rosetta.

Lion no longer includes Rosetta, so for users of Office 2004, it's time to upgrade to something else, since neither Microsoft nor Apple provide support.

I updated to OS X Yosemite but iPhoto will not download, is saying because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled. Now I cannot access ANY of my photos...how can I fix this????

If you are logged in with the Apple ID that was used to purchase iPhoto or to set up the computer if it came preinstalled then quit iPhoto, backup your iPhoto library  and drag the iphoto application to the trash (do not empty the trash yet) and then go to the App store and install iPhoto
If that does not resolve contact App store support - link is on the right of the App store window

Have you tried resetting your iPad?
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds).

I just updated my iPad to 4.3.1 and resented with my computer. Now I cannot access any of my applications. When I click on any icon the application appears for a split second and closes down right away. How can I correct this and re-establish access to my applications?

Select a broken track and press ctrl-i to Get Info. Look on the summary tab for the location where iTunes "thinks" the file should be. Where is it really? Post back the two locations and I can suggest the best approach.

Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility and press the Continue button. After Disk Utility loads select the Macintosh HD entry from the the left side list.  Click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If Disk Utility reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Unfortunately, the error message gives no details about what codec might be missing or what it needs.
If the file can't be opened in QT, it only means you cannot use the QT "Inspector" window to check what compression formats were used to create the file. It does not mean you can't use the Finder "Information" window to check on the compression formats or use a third party media information window (e.g., like VLC which will open many compression formats not supported natively by QT) to determine what kind of data is included in the MOV wrapper. If the file cannot be opened in any app, it is usually a good sign that the file itself is corrupted.
It's a stupid error message. Apple should do better than that.
Error trapping is quite extensive but there are still many areas which require human oversight. The message is telling you that either the container has a problem (e.g., not properly terminated, non-standard, or corrupted) or that one or more of the compression formats used is not supported by your current codec component configuration or that the data was encoded using non-standard settings or preferences not supported by QT or that the fourCC code does not match the data contained in the file or that there are timecode inconsistencies, etc., etc., etc. In short there are a near infinite number of possible problems for which it would be very difficult/nearly impossible to program error trapping depending on your sourcing of content and how you process it before it reaches the player app. Think of it like trying to play a BD disc in an DVD player.
I'll call Apple support when I get a chance.
Chances are good that they will end up sending you back here. In any case, it is often a good idea to post a sample file for examination by other QT users. At the very least, they should be able to tell you if the sample file will play on other systems which would indicate whether or not the file itself is bad and under the best of circumstances whould allow them to examing the file in detail for various common problems.
