I have tried installing with firewall and spyware turned off. I have uninstalled Acrobat XI. Lastly I have installed Acrobat Reader DC. Reader is functioning OK.

Could you please tell me from where are you trying to install the latest Acrobat DC?
You can try installing it referring the following document and see if you still get the same error .

"You cannot install Safari on this volume-" message.
Hi,
I just downloaded Safari 4 (running the Safari 4 Public Beta currently). However, when I go through the installation dialog, when I arrive at the screen to select the installation disk, I cannot choose my hard drive (startup volume) and get the following message:
"You cannot install Safari on this volume. This volume does not meet the requirements for this update."
Obviously my machine is compliant with the minimum requirements for Safari 4, so what could be the issue here?

Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger and Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.0 for Tiger, and 4.1 for Leopard) and/or TechTool Pro (4.6.1 for Leopard) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X. -
I'm trying to install neat desk. It said " you cannot install neat on this volume". What does this mean? I do have the neat desk for the mac.

It could very well be they only tested it up to Mac OS X 10.6.1. Contact Neat Desk and ask them what they have tested it on. -
Cannot install OSX on This Computer
I intend to sell my iMac as i have already bought a new one.
In order to erase all my private data I have tried to reinstall Leopard on my old iMac. This is not as easy as i thought.
After inserting the Install DVD disk into the iMac en starting up pressing down the letter C, I select the language to be installed, after that all i get is the error message :
*Cannot install OSX on This Computer*
I have no idea what i do wrong. I even tried to format the disk using the disk utility, dough with little succes. The error still come up.
I could really use some help.
By the way, I have of course searched through other topics for a similar problem, I could not find anything that helped me solve my problem.this error is typical when you are trying to use a wrong leopard install disk. are you using an install disk that came with a different computer? if so that won't work as such disks are hardware specific and will produce the kind of error you are seeing. you need to use a retail copy of leopard or the install disk that originally came with this computer (if the computer came with leopard).

thxMost of the problems I see of this nature are being caused by people trying to use a "Drop-In" upgrade DVD that was designed for a specific machine.
The problem is that some people think they can run any 'friends' upgrade DVD to upgrade their Mac also.
If this is what's happening, and your computer is really only a month old, then you probably qualify for some type of upgrade from Apple. Or you will have to buy a retail version of Leopard to upgrade your machine.
