I cannot load more photos onto my iPad as I'm being told there is not enough storage. I have bought an extra 20 GB storage plan from iCloud so how can I now load more photos onto my iPad. Surely there is enough space! Do I need to delete previous photos?

I cannot load more photos onto my iPad even though I have bought an extra 20 GB storage plan from iCloud. As I am on holidays and taking loads of photos I thought a good plan was to load them onto my iPad and then regularly back them up to iCloud. If I do this, do I then delete those photos from the iPad that I have backed up to iCloud and if I delete them from the iPad are they gone forever or can I somehow get them back from iCloud? I'm only new at all of this so I hope someone can assist me. I'd hate to lose all of my photos(I know they are still on my memory stick) but I would like to have them safe and secure and able to retrieved whenever I wish.

Reducing the size of your Camera Roll backup
If you take lots of photos and videos with your iOS device, you may notice your Camera Roll takes up most of your iCloud Storage backup. To check the size of the Camera Roll backup on your device:
On your Home Screen, tap Settings.
Tap iCloud.
Tap Storage & Backup.
Tap Manage Storage.
In the Backups section, tap your device.
In the Backup Options section, the backup size is displayed under Camera Roll.
To reduce the size of your Camera Roll backup, save your photos and videos locally to your computer with iTunes, and then manually back up your iOS device. If you want to keep your photos and videos on your iOS device, you can turn off Camera Roll in Backup (see the "Deleting backups and turning off Backup for your Device" section above) orpurchase additional storage.

1, you can't at the moment, though with iOS 5 in the Autumn, from http://www.apple.com/ios/ios5/features.html#photos :

2, by removing it from you synced from and re-syncing. Only photos taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the iPad (either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it in thumbnail view)
3, the location of the photos that you synced to the iPad should be listed on the iPad's Photos tab when connected to your computer's iTunes.
4, you can copy the photos from your iPad to your computer : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083 . You should also be able to delete them from the iPad as part of the transfer process to your computer, and it's then your choice whether to add them to your sync photo list so as to copy them back to the iPad. Copying them to your computer would allow you to organise them into folders and therefore be able to sync them back into separate albums.
5, I don't use Dropbox either. There are some third-party browser apps in the iTunes App Store that allow you to download pages so that you can view them when offline e.g. Atomic Web (the whole page is saved within Atomic Web, it doesn't place a photo into the Photos app)
6, deleting content should help. If you remove an app from your iPad then you also remove the content that it's got on the iPad - so if you then decide to reinstall it back onto the iPad then you will need to manually add back any content that you want in it. None of the Apple built-in apps (including Photos) can be removed from the iPad

Thank you for your suggestion. I backup on itunes. I went to itunes, deleted syncing my contacts, then re-synced them. But the Facetime capability option continues to be there on most (not all, for some curious reason) of my contacts. I am not sure I posed my question correctly. I want to be able to FT with my family, so don't want to delete the FT capability totally from my iphone and ipad. But I don't want all these other iphone calls from various contacts to ring on my ipad as FT calls. I want a way to select with whom I have FT capabilities. Any further suggestions? The storage you who have purchased is iCloud storage, it is not extra storage on your iPad, you cannot add extra storage space to your iPad.

Strangely, some songs that are stored on iCloud cannot be downloaded on my devices (Mac and iPhone) although other songs which are in the same purchased album work fine. Any idea?
For example, I cannot download the song "Absolute Beginners" from the "Best of Bowie" album - I've purchased this album on iTunes in 2007 - although the other songs from the same album can be downloaded without problems. I have the same problem for other songs purchased on iTunes as well.

When you delete the local track are you removing the original and the listing from iTunes.

I need to retrieve my bookmarks from another laptop which doesn't boot to Windows any more. I have managed to copy the Firefox Profiles folder from that laptop - how do I now import bookmarks to a new laptop?

I've tried replacing the contents of the old Profile folder into the new folder and I have also tried just replacing the urlclassifier3.sqlite file, but that doesn't work either.
Googling hasn't helped me over the last 24 hours but surely there must be a way to do this - right?

Yes, there is a way to restore your bookmarks from your old laptop to the new one. Note that just replacing the contents of old Profiles folder will not work because your profiles.ini file contains a different profile name.

Just above the textarea that you use to enter the message text on the "Compose New Mail page" there is usually a button bar with buttons to add text formatting like Bold and Italic.<br />
That toolbar may also have a button to turn a text link into a clickable hyperlink (look for a chain like button).<br />
You can select the text and click that button to turn the link into a clickable hyperlink.<br />
If you can't find the button then hover them all to check the tooltip of each (e.g. Insert hyperlink).

To clarify: I have a 16g iPhone 5s and an iPad 32g and both are due for current Yosemite updates. I successfully completed Yosemite update for MacPro. If the images are in the location you want them be sure to select "Add" at the top of the import dialog box.

Upgrading the OS does not remove your apps and purchases.

Restoring an iPad from an iTunes-generated backup should not require an Apple ID password.
Did you encrypt the iPad backup? If so, then trying to restore will require entering the encryption password.

It generally means - just using random numbers for examples - the iTunes on your computer holds 45 gig of content, you have a 16 gig iPad which has 13 gig of free space and the content just won't fit.
Easy solutions. go into iTunes and 'manually manage' your content. I believe this is in the main summary tab for your device (connect your device, click on the icon in iTunes to access controls for your iPad
You may also need to choose to manually control content in both the music and movie tabs.

There could be a 32 bit vs 64 bit issues-is the old machine a 32 bit? and what is the new machine as far as 32/64 bit. I am not sure now if CS5 has in the help menu of the PS app the selection to update within PS if so that might work. I know that the Creative cloud app for installs updates etc has caused me much consternation over the last couple few years. Last it could be something like your Software firewall settings or anti-virus anti malware programs.
