I cannot log in to Weight Watchers Website - message is the connection has timed out. This is the ONLY website this happens with.
I have spoken with Norton Antivirus and it is not a software issue with them. I have run a full scan for malware and viruses, have cleared history. If the "connection has timed out", is there a way to re-set the time limit before timing out?
I also have this problem.
It's not worked since this time last week, absolutely fine before that and i've been a member since June.
I emailed Weight Watchers Tech Support and they say that there is no problem with their website, told me to clear out my cookies (no instructions given for Firefox) and try again... still no luck.
I've emailed them again.
I am having trouble connecting to their IPod App too, not just at home but at work aswell.
Paying for this service and not getting it, making it very difficult to track and make recipes!

This message "The connection has timed out" only happens when i attempt to log on to my blackboard account for college. All other log in' work fine.
Thanks. So there's no means of knowing whether a text message has been delivered, not to mention time of delivery. Perhaps I've gone for the wrong phone. It might do a lot but seems to miss out on some basics.

i get " itunes cannot connect to the itunes store. the network connection has timed out" im connected to the internet no doubt. whats up?
Try temporarily disabling your firewall and see if you are then able to access the iTunes store.

I am attempting to access KiwiBank online banking using Firefox (my preferred browser). It allows me to enter my account access number and password but when I click through to the next window which is a secure password window, Firefox flashes at the top pf the page asking me to allow the cookies, I click allow however the KiwiBank window then goes to another window stating my session has timed out - after 3 attempts the bank locks me out 9which is a tad frustrating :o0
== URL of affected sites ==
http://www.kiwibank.co.nz# Yes, if you go to accounts.firefox.org, sign out, you will now be signed out.
# Sign back in, and you will be asked to save the password you entered.
# This will save the password and autocomplete if you have this option turned on.
I am not exactly sure why the menu did not detect the password change or if it was stored incorrectly after you changed it? But after storing the correct password you can manage any duplicate passwords in the password manager.[[Password manager - Remember, delete and change saved passwords in Firefox]] -
Can someone please help? It was working fine. Now I can open some things, but not my regular sites that I have on my desktop. It just tries to connect, then says, The connection has timed out

I installed Internet Explorer and still had the problem.
I do not have the problem with my Mac computer.
IT my opinion that the problem started when I installed the latest
version of firefox.Have you tried clearing the cache? See suggestions in this article --> https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/websites-dont-load-troubleshoot-and-fix-errors
The latest version of Firefox is 13.0.1; it appears that you are using Firefox 12.

I cannot search for ANYTHING, I cannot click on items listed in the yahoo search page (the top ten trending search items) the page just won't load!
Since I looked everywhere for this answer and never found it I decided I needed to help!
1. GO TO THE TOOL BAR WHERE IT SAYS SAFARI AND CLICK TO BRING DOWN THE MENU OF OPTIONS, CLICK ON PREFERENCES
2.INSTEAD OF JUST CLICKING ON THE GENERAL TAB AND CHANGING THE SEARCH ENGINE LIKE EVERY OTHER STUPID SUPPORT TELLS YOU TO DO LOOK AT THE TAB THAT SAYS EXTENSIONS.
3. Chances are you downloaded something that was made by a third party to "enhance" your web experience but really they just screwed you over, YOU CAN CHOOSE TO SIMPLY UNINSTALL ANY EXTENSIONS PUT ON YOUR COMPUTER BY CLICKING INSTALL, BUT TO BE SURE THAT THIS IS THE ROOT OF YOUR PROBLEM IN THE SECOND COLUMN SIMPLY CLICK ON THE UNDERLINED NAME OF WHO THE EXTENSION IS MADE BY IF CLICKING THE LINK BRINGS UP A YAHOO PAGE THIS IS THE SOURCE OF YOUR ISSUES AND SIMPLY UNINSTALLING THIS WILL RID YOU OF THIS DUMB PROBLEM!!
HOPE THIS HELPS!!!! -
Certain websites (but not all) saying "connection has timed out" in all browsers
"Problem loading page" message, "server taking too long to respond" on a few websites that I regularly use in Firefox. However, a number of sites are still OK to load. Other browsers such as Safari or Internet Explorer are also affected.

You can try to reset (power off/on) the router.
Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.<br />
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.<br />
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

As suggested by Firefox, I cleared my history and cache. I also downloaded and ran one of the Firefox recommended malware applications. I also removed Firefox from my firewall and then added it back as suggested by Firefox. I have no problem accessing the site using Internet Explorer.
Thanks jscher2000. Yes, in Safe Mode I was able to go the site. I read the possible ways that Firefox suggests to try to fix the problem, i.e., go through all my extensions to find the problem or reset Firefox to the original factory settings. Where do you suggest I go from here?

Hi, I just got the iphone 4 and connected to my computer but i am unable to update to software version 5.0.1. It starts to update but then i get a error message that says my internet connection has timed out but i am still connected? I have rebooted the computer, made sure itunes is updated and am still not able to update. Help
Check for any anti-virus or anti-spyware software you might have. Temporarily disable that to continue. Normally this is what will cause a timeout. I assume you have a good Internet connection?

Unable to open LUFTHANSA website, "the connection has timed out"

Another possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

It gets as far as most of the initial step one but then showing awaiting a responce from Apple it stops saying that the connection has timed out.
I saw in one thread around here that some folks with a particular brand of firewall or anti-virus installed actually had to uninstall it to get it to work. Unfortunately I can't find the thread again. What brand of firewall and/or anti-virus are you running?
Ah ha! Just thought of it... NOD32. If you're got this software installed you may need to completely uninstall it. -
I also tries removing firefox and reinstalling it - still did not work.
I checked - the firewall wasn't blocking firefox , so it's not that.
As far as I could find my antivirus (AVG) also was not causing the problem.
I'm at a complete loss - any ideas what has gone wrong?Type '''about:preferences#advanced'''<Enter> in the address bar.
Under '''Advanced,''' Select '''Network.'''
Look for '''Configure How Firefox Connects''' and press the '''Settings''' button.
Check the settings.
Some problems occurs when your Internet security program was set
to trust the previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your
updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow
Firefox to connect to the Internet again;
* Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version).
* Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs. For detailed instructions, see

I cannot log into Adobe Reader through my iphone using the Adobe ID and password which work on the website.
Hi Will,
That's great that you could sign in now.
I think issue you faced in signing was because email verification was not done before. And when you signed from web client, you might have received a note asking you to do verification. It solved the logging issues you were facing on iPhone as well.
