I cannot open any new tabs, I have done all the troubleshooting on the website, any help?

I cannot manually open a new tab. A new tab will open when clicking on a link. I have done all of the troubleshooting on the website but nothing has helped. I am using Firefox 3.6.

hello g.hill250, can you try to replicate this behaviour when you launch firefox in safe mode once? if not, maybe an addon is interfering here...

I have a problem opening a new tab with FireFox 24.0.
When I press the tab bar, sometimes it opens, but most of the times it won't. It is especially so when there are already 5 tabs opened.
I use "checkCompatibility 1.3" and "Google Toolbar for FireFox 7.1.20110512W" as addons. There have been no problems until the previous version of FireFox.

It works fine with the safe mode. So it must be something to do with checkCompatibility 1.3 or Google Toolbar for FireFox 7.1.20110512W.
Both are necessary to run Google Toolbar on Firefox, and the fact is Google Toolbar is too convenient to be removed. So I have bookmarked a couple of blank pages and I right-click them to open new tabs. But it is so tiresome.
I hope this problem will be fixed in the next version. FireFox without Google Toolbar is just a useless browser.

From the menu bar, select

I have Ver. 3.6.13 and I have reinstalled to no avail. My TABS do not work, I cannot open a new tab...either from the '+' tab or from within the 'File' menu

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

* Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

I have done each and everyone of the steps (advanced and basic) recommended by Apple. Unfortunately, now i cannot even use my IPhone because it seems to not respond. I have turn it off, reset it with the home and main buttom pressed simultaneously. Restore it again and the same error ( unknown error occurred and your IPhone could not be restored). Home computer (running Vista) no longer opens new tab by clicking on the tab line. Unable to open a new tab on same window unless the website does it. Computer (using XP) does not have this problem.

Cannot open a new tab have to get a link and open in new tab.

I cannot open a new tab either by clicking on the button on the tool bar, going to File/Open New Tab or CTRL T. I think this happened after I upgraded to the newest version of Firefox. The only way I can get a new tab is to click on a bookmark or link and right click and select Open in New Tab. Very frustrating.

I open facebook or other site. right click link/photo to open in new tab quickly. Then all tab connection will be connection to website, all page stop loading. Have to close firefox and reopen then only site will load.

The only way to open a new tab is to click a link like in an email, or right click to tell it to open a new tab. When I click the + or Ctrl T nothing happens.

Uninstall the Ask toolbar and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask toolbar and Firefox that prevents new tabs from being opened.
There are a couple of places to check for the Ask toolbar:

You can probably force it where you want it with a keyboard shortcut
