  • My account balance was deleted and now I can't purchase anything from the iTunes Store

    I redeemed a $100 gift card about a month ago, used barely any of it and now the balance has been deleted from my account. I added another $40 in gift cards today and still cannot purchase anything from the iTunes Store. A red message pops us telling me to contact iTunes Support. How can I:
    1) Recover my account balance?
    2) Make a purchase?

    Try logging out of your account on the iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes  & App Stores on iOS 6) and then log back in and see if it then works.

  • My itouch is asking me for answers to security questions that I never answered and it won't let me buy anything from the iTunes store.  I tried a hard reset to original settings but it still asks for answers.

    My daughter's itouch (registered to my apple account) is asking for answers to security questions that I never answered and it won't let her buy anything from the iTunes store.  I tried a hard reset to original settings but it still asks for answers.  How do I reset the security questions or get rid of them appearing altogether?  I can purchase apps on my phone (same apple account) and it doesn't ask me for security questions.

    Welcome to the Apple Support Communities,
    I had a similar issue and it was an easy fix for me. First you need to log out of your account completely in the Mac App Store. Quit the application. Re-open the Mac App Store. Click log-in, enter your Apple-ID and password. Now when the screen pops-up that has all of your billing/credit card information on it DO NOT select done. Instead select View my Account, then select View hidden purchases. There you should be able to find iPhoto. Hope this helps if not let me know. I'm still searching solutions for you.

  • I can no longer purchase anything at the iTunes store.  I get error 45064

    For the past 18 months I have not been able to purchase items here in Germany.  My situation is a bit odd, I have my computer and  IP in Germany, my billing is a USA account.  I continually get error 45054.  No matter what I do, it does not work. I've even gone so far as to cancel my account and delete all iTunes files, nothing works.  However, when visiting the USA, I brought my laptop, joined iTunes and was able to purchase music. However, the second I tried to do so, with the same laptop, after returning to Germany, I received the same error notice.
    I suspect it's a tax issue, music purchased here in Germany through iTunes is significantly more expensive than the USA site.  I'd like find out if an iTunes technician can figure this one out, perhaps even remoting into my computer.

    If you are in Germany then you can only use the German iTunes store - you have to be in a country to use its store, using a country's store when not in that country is a violation of the store's terms (terms that you've agreed to) and Apple could permanently disable your account.
    Edit : just noticed that your tagline says Windows
    This appears to have worked for at least one person : -45054 error on 1 profile, but not the other
    Or you could try the troubleshooting on this page which has been posted in response to a couple of 45054 threads : Can't connect to the iTunes Store - Apple Support
    If they don't work then you could try asking in the iTunes For Windows forum on here.

  • Cannot purchase anything on the app store

    No one answered my last question, and I am extremely frustrated as the issues I'm having are for pointless reasons.
    I uploaded two iTunes/App store gift cards today, worth 30 dollars.
    I have been using the device I uploaded them on for nearly 2 years.
    I received a pop-up saying I was accessing the store through a new device (I wasn't).
    I needed to "verify" my account through security questions. I was unable to do so, (I shouldn't have had to, I was using the same device as always...), so I attempted reset the questions. After I did, and pressed "save" in the reset questions screen, the page just sat there loading till safari said that "this page could not be reached because safari could not reach xxxexamplexxx.apple.com"
    So, I tried purchasing what I wanted to purchase again. Now, instead of asking for verification questions, the app store takes me to this dead link:
    https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/wa/SignInToResetQnA?l ocalang=en_ca
    It will sit there, not loading, for 10 minutes, and eventually the "this page could not be reached because safari could not reach xxxexamplexxx.apple.com" screen shows up on Safari after about 10 minutes.
    This all could have been avoided had I just simply been allowed to use what I uploaded, straightforward.

    the app store takes me to this dead link
    It's not a dead link. Your Internet connection isn't working properly. Restart the router and the broadband device, if they're separate. If there's no change, see below.
    Please read this whole message before doing anything.
    This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
    Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
    Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
    Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
    The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
    Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
    After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • No longer able to purchase anything in the iTunes store

    As of yesterday, I can no longer make purchases. Pressing the "Buy" button just doesn't do anything. Any word from Apple about this problem? I can see others are experiencing the same issue.

    I have the same problem. Looks like the latest iTunes upgrade will not work on older operating systems. Can't understand why they would make a change like this and lose many loyal customers. I was renting movies and buying music regularly right up until yesterday and now I can't buy anything. My latest iTunes version is 10.6.3, I hear the most recent iTunes is 11.1. I'll need a new computer to run that.
    Is Apple able to do a fix so customers with older OS can still buy from them?

  • I can't remember my security question answers and I can't purchase anything in the iTunes Store.

    So I wanted to buy an app on my new iphone 5 right? Well, the store popped up, window was asking my password all the usual. Until it asked for the answers to my security questions. They were my first teacher, and my favorite teacher. Now because I made this account almost 6 years ago, I honestly cannot remember the answers to these questions! I cannot recall if I had put my actual FIRST teacher's name, or if it was the first teacher who pooped into my head. Ad my favorite teacher? Well that changes daily so who the heck knows what I had then. I just want apple to reset everything for me and let me choose new security questions. I did it for my sister's account, but it won't let me until I answer these darn questions. Someone please help!!

    Reset Security Questions
         There are several different methods. Try one. If it doesn't work,
         then try the next one. Don't try to do everything at once.
    Frequently asked questions about Apple ID
    Manage My Apple ID
    Note: you may need to continue entering false answers to the questions until you trigger the response needed to start making changes. It will take six or nine retries.
    Or you can email iTunes Support at iTunes Store Support.
    If all else fails:
      1. Go to: Apple Express Lane;
      2. Under Product Categories choose iTunes;
      3. Then choose iTunes Store;
      4. Then choose Account Management;
      5. Now choose iTunes Store Security and answer the bullet questions, then click
          Continue;
      6. Sign in with your Apple ID and press Continue;
      7. Under Contact Options fill out the information and advise iTunes that you would
          like your security/challenge questions reset;
      8. Click Send/Continue.
    You should get a response within 24 hours by email.
    In the event you are unsuccessful then contact AppleCare - Contacting Apple for support and service.
    Another user had success doing the following:
    I got some help from an apple assistant on the phone. It is kind of round about way to get in.
    Here is what he said to do and it is working for me...
      a. on the device that is asking you for the security questions go to "settings", > "store" >
          tap the Apple ID and choose view"Apple ID" and sign in.
      b. Tap on payment information and add a credit/debit card of your preference then select
          "done", in the upper right corner
      c. sign out and back into iTunes on the device by going to "settings"> "store" > tap the
          Apple ID and choose "sign-out" > Tap "sign -in" > "use existing Apple ID" and you
          should be asked to verify your security code for the credit /debit card and NOT the
          security questions.
      d. At this time you can remove the card by going back in to edit the payment info and
          selecting "none" as the card type then saving the changes by selecting "done". You
          should now be able to use your iTunes store credit without answering the security
          questions.
    It's working for me ...I just have to put in my 3 digit security pin from the credit card I am using.
    Good Luck friends!

    It won't let me download off the App Store?

    use this: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1368

  • Cannot download anything from the iTunes store

    Whenever I go to download an app, song, or movie on my new iPad 3 I get an error message saying: 'MZCommerce.CreditBalanceMismatch.Mobile_message'
    I have done a hard reset, signed out of my iTunes account, and reset my network settings. Sometimes it will download 4-5 apps and then say the error. Thanks for your help.

    Other people are reporting the same message (e.g. here and here) - problems have also been reported on the iPad's App Store app with the Purchased tab being blank. I assume that Apple are having some problems.
    You can try this; Keep the Powerbutton and the Homebutton pressed at the same time until you see the Apple logo on your iPad screen.
