i cant get my printer to resond it just keeps searching for something and i cant get it to turn off, resond to my computer or anything

What operating system does the computer use?
Is the printer connected through a USB cable or over a network. If over a network, is it wireless or Ethernet? What brand and model is the router?
Do you receive any errors on the computer or on the printer? If so, what are they?

Printing is not correct. I can print to either my HP Photosmart printer or a pdf printer and I get the same thing. Strange looking letters and spacing but not normal reading print. Is there a way to set up my printing in version 4 beta?

The following tips can help you troubleshoot and avoid wireless connectivity issues. You can try these tips separately or in combination to get a successful wireless signal. Move the printer and the computer closer to the router, but no closer than 6 ft (1.8 m). Wireless signals can be weaker at greater distances between the printer and the router.If you are experiencing an intermittent wireless connection, try restarting your router. Consult your router manufacturer, Internet service provider, or network administrator for instructions on how to restart the router.Remove any metal objects between the printer, the computer, and the router. Objects such as refrigerators, microwaves, or metal bookcases can interfere with wireless transmission.Move any device that emits radio signals, such as microwaves and cordless telephones, farther away from the printer. Can you make copies from the front panel of the printer?
How are you connecting the printer to your MacBook? wireless, USB or ethernet
If you haven't yet tried these steps, try them in order:

Repair disk permissions
Restart the Mac

HP Photosmart Printer 6520 has a white screen and won't go away?

My HP photosmart printer had been working fine until I turned it on today and it showed a blue screen with a power off/on symbol and quickly flashed to a blank white screen and hansn't changed since. I've unplugged it and plugged it in several times and it still does the same thing. I even left it unplugged for a while and plugged it back in and it still did the same thing? How do I fix this problem?

I see the screen on your HP Photosmart 6520 has gone white and you are not able to access the front panel guide. I would like you to take a look here: The HP Printer Won't Turn On or Respond, I know it turns on just the main screen is white, but the I need you to do all troubleshooting steps listed in this document to try and resolve the problem.

Receiving printer not responding on computer screen. Unplugged, reinstalled wi-fi printer...nothing.

Cannot get printer to respond. One computer will print, the other gets printer not responding message.
We have reinstalled the printer, unplugged everything to no avail. Anybody have a solution?

Hp 7525 Photosmart printer won't scan to my PC but will scan to other PCs on the LAN. I tried to install the printer software but it says it is already installed. Do I have a security setting wrong?
Other PC names show up on the printer's touch screen but not mine. We are all on the same wireless subnet with the printer at a fixed IP address.
I can print from my PC and scan from my PC but I can't scan from the printer touchscreen to my PC.

You may have to start from your computer first:
    Double click printer icon on desktop,
    Select Manage Scan to Computer
    Click Enable -
    Restart your printer to see, is your machine in the list ?

Photosmart printer -all-in-one 5520 and windows 8.1 - INSTALLATION ERROR

I have a photosmart printer - model: all-in-one 5520; code number HPC57CC4 and my operating system is windows 8.1.
I had problems with the scan function and so I decided to disinstal the printer (from the Control Panel) and I even cancelled the HP folders.
Then I tried to reinstal the printer with the original CD but I got the message: INSTALLATION ERROR - DRIVER PACKAGE INSTALL GIVES THE ERROR -536870329 FOR THE PACKAGE C:\Program Files\HP\HP Photosmart 5520 series\DriverStore\Pipeline\hpvpl09.inf (that's the translation from Italian)
I have tried endless times to install with the online software from the HP assistance (hppsdr.exe, hppiw.exe, ps5520_1315-1.exe, hpscan and doctor) but I always get the above error message, the system recognizes my printer, but gives the error message few seconds after starting installing it.
If i use the printer from other PCs it's ok, I've also tried both in the wireless modality and with the USB cable but the result is the same: no installation!

I noticed that you are having trouble installing your HP Photosmart 5520 on Windows 8.1. I am happy to help you with this installation issue!
Please try the following solutions:
Uninstall the software. Uninstalling the Printer Software. (In case any was partially installed).
Clean boot the computer. How to perform a clean boot in Windows.
Make sure no antivirus programs are running. Turn Windows Defender on or off.
Make sure the firewall is disabled. Disabling the computer's firewall on a Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 computer.
Re-install using the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows.

How do I print a 4"x5" invitation on my HP Photosmart printer?

I have an HP Photosmart printer and have changed the printer settings to the custom size of the paper but it still prints my doc in the middle of the 8" paper width. It should be printing on the right side of the printer where rnvelopes and smaller sheets of paper can be trayed for the printer. I have tried to adjust every setting I know about in the printer settings. What next? My computer runs Windows 7.

HP Laserjet Pro 200 Printer Not Responding Wirelessly to Macbook Pro 13 Using Mavericks OS

My printer has worked fine wirelessly since upgrading to Mavericks in Jan 2014. Last week my printer stopped responding both wirelessly and with the cable. I can print wirelessly from my I-Phone and I-Pad. I have reset the printers (deleted them) and reinstalled the printer software (downloaded software for Mavericks), and now the printer and scanner functions work only with the cable installed. I can once again print wirelessly using my I-Phone and I-Pad, but not from my MacBook. I am connected to the same network, and I am able to access the Internet and have all other network functionality, I just can't get the Mac to recognize the printer over the network. During setup, it doesn't even recognize the printer over the network. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I see by your post that you are unable to get the printer recognized on the Mac through the wireless network.
I will be happy to help you.
Try and ping the printer on the Mac.
On the Apple menu bar, click Go, then click applications, then Network Utilities.
(you can go to the finder and type in Network Utilities)
Click on PING from the bar at the top of the window.
Enter the IP Address of the printer and click Ping.
Did you get any replies back?
If you are not able to add the printer by the default button from the printers and scanners window then you need to make sure the router supports bonjour packets and can do multicasting. You can contact your router company.
The router might have just had a update causing this issue.
Since the Mac is not seeing the printer automatically then you could try manually adding the IP address in.
You can add the printer as a IP Protocal to see if it will work.
Go to the Apple, system preferences, printers and scanner, (some systems print and fax) click the + button, then select the IP icon across the top, type in the printer's IP address, select jet direct below and then apply the settings.
What is the full name and product number of your printer? How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?

I have a G5 tower, with Tiger and am printing to an HP Laserjet 1300. I often get the message: "printer not responding". If I turn the printer off and on, it works. any suggestions would be appreciated. I'm connected through usb.
