My e-mail has changed, but I purchashed some songs in iTunes using my old e-mail address as my account name... so when I try to play the sonngs I bought and paid for - it keeps asking me to authorize my PC first, but I don't remember the password! And since the old e-mail address is no longer active, I can't even chenge the password- becasue it's sends the link to do so via e-mail! The apple ID on my phone is differnt from the one on ICloud. I have gotten married and changed my ID for Apple. My ICloud ID is correct in my PC but my phone is incorrect. I don't remember the password for the ID for ICloud. How do I change the ID???

Change your old Apple ID using this link:

Click the blue Manage your Apple ID button.
Its password is unrelated to the password you use for the email associated with it.
If you don't remember the Apple ID password, click the Reset your password link.

You cannot change your Apple ID to another one that is already in use - in this case, the one you created for your iPnone and iPad. Decide which Apple ID you want to keep. If you need to change it, change it - don't create a new one. -

If you are unable to remember your password, security questions, don’t have access to your rescue address or are unable to reset your password for whatever reason, your only option is to contact AppleCare(or Apple ID Support), upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan. -

i have entered the wong password on mi iPad 2 too many times and it says disabled connect to iTunes so when i plug it into the computer , iTunes says pad locked cannot sync until you unlock the iPad but i don't remember the password nor can i put it in
You have to restore the device within iTunes. You want to use the same computer that you always sync with so that you can restore your app data and settings. You can restore with any other computer, but you will lose everything on the iPad.

There are quite a few songs, videos, television shows, and movies I purchased years back, well before the cloud with two different user id's that I don't remember the passwords for, and when I try and get to the security questions, it says the information doesn't match. I'm ****** because I'm sure they will have some convenient excuse for not getting me out of this mess with my new laptop, but as long as my old one works, I can still access the previous library, where EVERYTHING plays. How can the new laptop not be recognized when I had all of the information transferred from the old laptop? Now I have to hope my old laptop doesn't crap out for a few years longer!!
I have the same problem - it is maddening. I rely on this iPad for work so this is not just an annoyance! The above solutions of changing the appleid on the device or on the website do not work.
The old email address no longer exists - I haven't used it in a year probably and I no longer have the account. I logged into the appleid website and there is no trace of the old email address so there is nothing that can be deleted or changed there. On the iPad there is no trace of the old email address so nothing can be deleted there either. I have updated the iPad software and the same problem comes right back. Every 2 seconds I am asked to log in using the old non-existent email. The device is currently useless.
The only recent change to anything was the addition of an Apple TV device, which was set up using the correct login and password.
Does anyone have any ideas? The iPad has been backed up to the iCloud so presumably it now won't recognize the current iCloud account? So restoring may notbe an option? -
I created a new apple id because the previous one no longer exists as an email (domain had to be cancelled). I keep seeing the old one pop up in my iPhone for which I don't remember the password. Frustrated!!!In one of the help pages for managing your Apple ID (http://support.apple.com/kb/HE40), it shows two separate sections, one for Apple ID and one for Primary Email address. When I go to manage my Apple ID, I see only a single section for both. Can the two be 'separated', especially when you face the situation of having to discontinue your email address for some reason?
I also noticed that when navigating to Apple ID Support Communities, it shows my nickname 'dishdy'. How and when did I insert this? In the current sequence for creating an Apple ID I don't see this. In my current profile I don't see this.
In any case, I have freed myself from my previous Apple ID (@artemis.it) on my iPhone.
