I deleted my SMTP server - How do I find it?

I was having difficulties in sending emails - I was getting the error message:
Cannot send message using the server smtp.xxxxxx
In a moment of madness when trying to fix this - I went into the mail preferences and deleted this server.
How do I get it back? How can I find the server?
If it helps - I use my me.com email with my mac.

The Mobile Me outgoing mail setup is:
Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.me.com (for either me.com or mac.com addresses)
Server port: 587 or 25 (some ISPs may block port 25)
"Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)" should be checked (enabled)
Authentication: Password
User Name: Your MobileMe member name (without "@me.com" or "@mac.com")
Password: Your MobileMe password

Whenever I delete mail on my iPad this mail is also deleted on my mail server. How can I avoid this? My iPhone shows a line "delete from server > never". I am missing this on my iPad.

smtp is only a protocol for sending mails
your issue is receiving mails
as std. pop3 mail accounts will delete the mail from the server as soon as it is downloaded on a device unless the account is setup not to do so
a IMAP mail account will sync mails so when you download mails they will be kept on the server
and if you delete on the client it will also be deleted on the service thats the nature of the sync

Just in the last week or so, when I delete emails from my IPad, it deletes them from the ATT server, whether they have been read on the other machines or not. If yur email account is an IMAP, you can't. It is working as designed. Only delete a message from any device when you actually want it deleted.
If you are using a POP account, you can fix that in settings:
Settings app > Mail,Contacts, Calendars > [the account in question] > Advanced > Incoming Settings > Delete from server > set to Never.

I accidentally deleted my unsold item how can i find it to relist it

I accidentally deleted one of my "unsold" items. I want to relist it but it is no longer in my unsold items list. It had "no insertion" fee so I can't even find it in my invoice activity. Is there any hope or do I have to start over on the listing.

depending on how much time has elapsed since the listing was deleted, you can retrieve a deleted item for up to 60 days. On the left side of your eBay page under the heading "Sell", click on "Deleted" which gives the option to browse for Sold or Unsold and the option for time frames from "Last 24 hours" to "Last 60 days"

Just to add to this, after you query the DNS server, it may return you a whole set of ip addresses with priorities. You must start with the highest priority and go ahead.

Safari slow and/or locked up, how do I find .plist file?

Like many others, my office computers' Safari keeps getting locked up when going to different websites & I often have to do a force quit. I've read various posts, and have tried the simple fixes such as to reset Safari. I keep seeing that I should delete .plist file, but how do I find it? I'm told it's located at (tilde symbol) library/preferences, but how do I find that? My Safari drop down menu has Preferences, but not Library. One post said that the file is located in the home folder, but I don't know where the home folder is.
I don't know much about computers, but my job requires that I visit certain websites. (I work in a law office, so it's usually government websites, to download legal forms) Fixing computer problems wasn't on my job description when I was hired, but office staff has now shrunk to one part-time worker, and yours truly is doing what I can to keep the office running. How does a Tech Challenged lady find library/preferences and/or my home folder?

What do I do now? Do I trash my old Safari folder, and keep this one with the unwanted bookmarks on that gray section at the top of the window? I'll keep my old Safari on the desktop until I have a chance to check for answers later in the day.
One of the files in that folder is causing the problem.
Here's my suggestion:
Quit Safari.
Next, move the History.plist file in the Safari folder on the desktop to the new Safari folder, replacing the newly created file. Restart Safari. If the problem occurs, you found your problem file. In that case, move the remaining files on the desktop back to their original location, replacing the new files. Then, move the History.plist file to the trash, then restart Safari.
By contrast, if Safari is stable after moving the History file, then another file is causing the problem. In that case, return to the Desktop and move the Icons folder found in the Safari folder back to its original location, replacing the newly created one. If Safari problem returns you found the culprit. In that case, you would move the Icon folder to the trash. Then, restart Safari.
Before going further, let me know if that solves the problem.

How do I delete multiple copies of a SMTP server under iOS 7.0.6 on an iPhone 5S?

I have a conflict in trying to set up email using the iPhone mail application. I had to change the password for the email account, which was done via the host's control panel. I am able to send and receive mail (POP) via the computer and logging in through the provider webmail. I have deleted the mail account multiple times on the iPhone and keep getting an user authentication error when setting up as new.
The only was to fix this was to revert back to the password originally in use prior to the change. The provider was watching the log files as I tried to change the settings on the iPhone and also was seeing the user authentication error when using a new password. Once I changed it back to the old password, all worked fine.
They think that because there are now multiple instances of the SMTP server listed, that the login is actually pulling the info from the old SMTP server info, even though all the others are turned 'off' in the settings.
I can find no way to permanently delete all the instances of this SMTP server so that I can set the account up as totally new.
How do I do this?

Are you sure they are on the device? Sounds like they are just in iCloud. Do they have a cloud icon next to them? If they do they aren't on your device and as such not taking up space. If you don;t want to see them you can go to Settings->Videos->Show All Videos and turn it off. This will hide all your iCloud movies from the videos App. but again they aren't really on your device.

Unfortunately that's not something you can change. To see the titles you need to tap on the movie. I guess Apple assumes the cover art already has the name so there is no need to repeat it.

How to Delete SMTP Server on iPhone/Can't Add Additional Servers

How do you delete the primary SMTP server. I'm on 2.2.1 My outgoing mail is not working and I figured since I'm a Mobile Me user I'll change the SMTP setting on the iPhone.
I can't add a new smtp server. I go into account info for my Mobile Me and select SMTP. I can't see how to delete the primary server and when I try to add server I enter smtp.mac.com then my user name and password. I see 3 check marks after I press Save. I says it verified. But it never shows up on the list. I have secondary server but I can't figure out how to delete that one. Its the ATT smtp server cwmx. All that info is ghosted yet it's not on my desktop account.
If synced Mobile Me but nothing changes.
Confused and I can't find any help on Apples website.

Not sure, but I think the iPhone won't let you modify certain email settings of accounts created by syncing to your laptop or PC.
Delete the account on your iPhone and create it again manually (on the phone itself.)
This worked for me.

How can I control SMTP server list in Mail?

I've seen a lot of discussion about e.g. deleting servers, but it often includes smug replies like "click the delete button" when there is often no such button. I have found a possible 'get around' to this particular problem by changing the server data to something that doesn't exist, save that, then select the server again from the list and hey presto, there is now a Delete button you can use. But again, that is not the full story because if that server is used as the primary server for any other account, you cannot modify the data.
Not only that, but you CANNOT simply swap servers so that e.g. an account uses one of the other servers as its primary server. Unless I'm missing something major here, it is NOT possible to move servers. You can change the data for the server to be exactly the same as another server, but that just means you now have an identical duplicate. Once a server entry has been created, it is an independent data entity.
So I seem to have several problems here.
1. A server cannot be deleted if it's in use as a primary for any account.
2. Servers cannot be moved, i.e. swapped between 'Primary' and 'Other'
3. Simply editing the server data does not 'merge' it with any other entry that may have the exact same data.
4. When creating an account, you cannot pick the outgoing SMTP server from the list of ones already created. Simply entering the same data as one that already exists may use that existing server, but may create a new duplicate. I have seen both of these occur and once there's a duplicate, you cannot get rid of it.
I want 3 accounts to all use the same 'Primary' server and also have the same 'Other' server. IOW, only 2 actual servers. After the first 2 accounts are created, that's what I have. Somehow they seem to be able to 'share' the same servers. But when I create the third account and enter the same data for its SMTP server as the others use as their primary (i.e. exactly the same process as when creating the second account), for some reason it does NOT use the existing matching server and I now get a third server created. I simply cannot get around this since whatever I do, each of the duplicates is used as a primary and so cannot be deleted. If I could swap them around so that the third account was using another account as its primary, then I could delete the duplicate and all would be well, but as pointed out above, that's not possible.
I'm hoping that I'm simply wrong about all this and it is actually possible to do what I currently believe it impossible. Can anyone explain how to actually control this server list?

How do I change my primary smtp server? I can delete all the old accounts I no longer use as email accounts, but the primary smtp server for the accounts I still use is still set as that for the old server. Not only is there nowhere to delete it, I can't even change it! There should at least be a button to take you to that page in the iOS6 settings somewhere easy to find, like IN the same place as where it is listed.

What did not work? You could not add an additional SMTP server? It does not matter what the primary is listed as....turn it off. Then turn on the additional server you added.
Better yet remove your .mac account and add it back as .me account.

How delete 'Other SMTP Servers' from email account?

In trying to figure out how to SEND email using my iPhone 3G I changed some port settings, according to Comcast. In the end doing this added a bunch of 'Other SMTP Servers.' I've deleted one of my email accounts and re-set it up, to no avail. The INCOMING port number keeps setting up its own number and I cannot change it to 110, as it should be, so I cannot receive email on theis account. Everytime I change it to 110 it automatically changes itself back to other numbers (587, 99?) when I exit and try to retrieve email. I've synced my iPhone with my pc...didn't work.
So, I need to know how to change my INCOMING port setting to 110 and keep it that way, delete multiple 'Other SMTP Servers' listed within any of my email accounts, and also how do I SEND email while outside the home (I can send email fine when I'm home using my wireless router)?

Same problem. Every time I add a new account its smtp server details are added to the list of available servers, even if exactly the same details already exist in the list. I now have three identical smtp servers listed.
Discovered this when having smtp connection refused problems after adding three different email domain addresses that I use with the same service provider - the first one is ok, the other two always fail smtp connection. The smtp details for all accounts are exactly the same, which works perfectly well when using Mail on my MacPro machine, but not it appears on my iPhone.
I can delete the troublesome accounts on my iPhone (have not yet figured out why all three work fine together on my MacPro machine but not on the iPhone) but, there does not seem to be a way of deleting duplicated or unwanted smtp information from the iPhone. Regarding ports, I use port 25 for sending on all 3 accounts, but I did notice that the iPhone setup automatically chose 587, which although legit does not appear to work.
Any suggestions?

As of yesterday, I am receiving e-mails fine; however, unable to send. Everytime I try to send an e-mail, I get "Sending of message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to SMTP server (my mail address) timed out. Try again or contact your network administrator.
I received help from lunarpages (they host my domain); however, they were unable to resolve the issue. They suggested something is blocking IP, or need to update Thunderbird, or there's a firewall there...

To diagnose problems with Thunderbird, try one of the following:
