This happened because if Mail.app was moved from /Applications or placed in a sub-folder there, the update (Security Update 2012-004) couldn't find it and fails for writing new files to Mail. This update updates Mail 4.5 to 4.6, consequently the message that 4.5 is incompatible, since it's looking at the now "old" 4.5 version. See the thread linked below for a fix and some other possible workarounds.

Basically, make sure Mail.app is in the Applications folder inside the Macintosh HD folder, and sitting by itself not in an enclosing folder. Then get the update from Apple Downloads and run that again. -

I have recently tried to update my iphone 2g to the latest version so i can get new apps. Pluged it it to my PC & itunes wanted to sync everything now that it has restored itself after several hours its now stuck on the "emergencey calls only" screen. The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does npot appear to be supported.
only compatible SUM cards from a supported Carrier may be used to activate iPhone. Please insert the SIM care that came with iPhone or visit a supported Carriers store to receive a replacement SIM card. -
Just updated to ios6, tried to update an app and now its stuck "waiting". Like that for 24 hours, mail is OK, web browsing OK but cannot unblock the apps thing. any ideas?

i updated my ipod the other day and since i have been unable to open any apps that connect to the internet, its says "operation could not be completed. invalid argument". anybody help please?
Have yu tried the standard fixes:
- Reset the iPod:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Restore the iPod via iTunes, First from backup and if problems persist, restore to factory defaults/new iPod. -
I was downloading the new IOS and message could not find Iphone appears in Itunes window - Now my my phone is stuck with the power symbol and an arrow pointing to the Itunes symbol, I have tried turning off my phone and turning it back on but nothing seems to work
So when you plug it into your computer, you're not getting a message in iTunes that it has discovered a phone in recovery mode?

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

When I updated my iPad 3 and iPod Touch 4th generation to iOS 6 a few months back, I was able to update the iPad effortlessly over WiFi. but I kept getting error messages when trying to update the iPod over WiFi, so I used iTunes on my MacBook Pro.
Connect the iPad to the computer, launch iTunes. Select the iPad under the devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update
If you are using iTunes 11, go to View>Show Sidebar at the top - so the sidebar is visible. -
tried synching iphone for the first time on new PC and got error followed by itunes logo and USB cable picture. No idea what went wrong and now phone is in this screen locked. please help!
I tried connecting to iTunes and neither the PC nor iTunes recognizes the device. I went through all the troubleshooting on the Apple website for this issue and nothing worked. I would hate to have lost all my info, especially contacts and calendar items since I have no idea what was backed up prior to the phone getting locked on this screen. I've been told that my only option is to go to the phone carrier and they will reset it for me, but that means it will wipe out all the info.
I hope someone has a fix other than that one. -

Try the Boot Camp Assistant when you are in OS X and download those and follow the directions in BCA utility.
Then look up the Boot Camp forum. I suspect you thought this was MBP related forum, it is for 65 lb tower model (and well the new "nMP Late 2013 Mac Pro" http://www.apple.com/support/macpro/
