Why is it that whenever I download a song from itunes that a small grey button appears next to the song (apparently this is the download progress) but whenever I hit it to resume, the song disappears. I am getting annoyed with having to copy the songs manually onto my phone. Thanks for anyones help. Cheers
If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items. -
I am trying to download a song from iTunes and it is asking security questions that I don't remember setting up. Therefore I do not have the correct answers. Any help?
You need to contact Apple to get the questions reset, which can be done by clicking here and picking a method for your country, or if that's not an option, by filling out and submit this form.

When I download a song from iTunes into my library, it often says it has downloaded, charges me for it, and on the song in my library shows the full playing time. However, when I play the song, at around halfway through it skips to the next song?
i'm just wondering:
a) why it does this
and b) how to stop it doing this, because it still charges me for the song :/If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:

Downloading one song from itunes store to ipod
I downloaded one song from itunes store yesterday. I accomplished it accidentally. Does anyone know how to easily download one song directly to ipod.
Thanks for your response. I downloaded a "free" tv show from itunes and it definitely does NOT work on my ipod. Tried it out on two different computers. Also tried another purchased tv show from itunes I had bought. Says it's wrong format. Just tried streamclip software and the m4v is not even a compatible file for the software. Help!
All video content purchased through the iTunes Store
is compatible with the iPod. I would suspect that
it is your video podcasts that are a problem. They
probably need to be converted to an iPod compatible
format before they can be transferred to the iPod.
I would try using software such as MPEG Streamclip to
convert your incompatible video files.

My iPhone 4S needs ages to download a song from iTunes Match... i have a fast wirelesslan connection!
may the problem is that my pc still upload songs to iCloud? The problem you describe sounds like a bad network speed. Did you say you're uploading stuff to iTunes Match at the same time you attempt a download? Cause that might be the cause.

Trying to download a song from iTunes, I get a message asking me to update payment details because it claims I am "using a new device." I am not using a new device. How do I know if this is genuine?
(Typing all in capitals is considered shouting, makes posts difficult to read and may mean that people are less likely to reply.)
There isn't a phone number for iTunes Support.
If you've forgotten your answers to your security questions then you can get them reset : If you forgot the answers to your Apple ID security questions
If you have a credit card on your account then its details have to complete - and asking for their details is also a way of checking that you have a valid billing address in that country. As long as you are buying content for yourself and not trying to gift content (you can't use your balance for gifting) then the purchase price (plus any applicable taxes) should be deducted from your balance. If it's not then you contact iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption -

When I try to download a song from iTunes or try to buy an App, or even purchase an extra set of lives on Candy Crush (!), I get an error message - 'Unknown Error'. Anybody have any ideas?
Try this and see if it helps. Refresh your iTunes account. Sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to purchase again. -
Downloaded a song from iTunes on my iPhone but only shows on my iPad. Setup for same iCloud.
If you are syncing music to the iPhone automatically, you won't be able to play tracks on the iPhone from iTunes, the music will be grayed out.
You can play them in iTunes if you Manually Manage the music on your iPhone though.
You could also Transfer the purchases from your iPhone to a computer. -
