Have downloaded Mountain Lion on my 2010 Mac Mini. Now when starting up, after a while I get a message that says, "You must restart your computer." I do that but get the same message again and again. Any ideas? Thanks!

I am having issues trying to start up with Mountain Lion on my 2010 Mac Mini. Here's the scenario:
1) After starting up, I get the usual gray screen with Apple logo.
2) After a few minutes, a darker gray screen scrolls down and in the middle of this is a black dialogue box with reversed (white) text. This text, in multiple languages, reads: "You need to restart your computer." Then it goes on to instruct on how to shut it down and restart it.
3) I follow this instruction, but get the same dialogue box over and over agin.
Any ideas?

If you can't boot in the usual way, try a safe boot. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Shut down your computer, wait 30 seconds, and then hold down the shift key while pressing the power button.
When you see the gray Apple logo, release the shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, and then hold down the shift key again as you click Log in.
During startup, you’ll see a progress bar, and then the login screen, which appears even if you normally log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Safe mode is slower than normal, and some things won’t work at all. Note: If FileVault is enabled under OS X 10.7 or later, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is on a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode. If you're able to boot, launch the Console application in any of the following ways: ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.) ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens. ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid. Select the most recent panic log under System Diagnostic Reports. Post the entire contents — the text, please, not a screenshot. I was asked to update my Foxfire which I did but at one point it said I would be prompted to move the Foxfire icon into the applications folder and I was never prompted to do so, therefore I do not know what to do next.

The new Foxfire version was downloaded into my download folder but I was never prompted, as it said I would be , so move the Foxfire icon into the applications folder. Therefore I do not know where the process stands. It old icon in my dock upgraded or has nothing happeded. It seems as if the process somehow just stopped in the middle.

Outside of the contact number for that you've already used I don't know another way of direct contact. Here are some things that they may or may not of had you try that might help you. If you will go to the settings app and pick general on the right-hand side you will see accessibility. Within that you can adjust a text size make the text bowl you can also increase the contrast. You can also adjust the brightness and control panel.
As for Siri again in the settings app under general you should see Siri on the right-hand side with the switch to turn it on. If that is turned on and you're still having issues
Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.

I have nothing but a cursor and a black screen. It's only 5 months old! What gives here? This is my first Mac and I'll tell you, they aren't impressing me.

Did you get it fixed at the store? I have this same problem my macbook pro that I bought at the end of December. I am not impressed and very unhappy that I now need to drive to some store to fix it. I tried to get it fixed through the phone but alas it still does not work.

I bought a MacBook Pro Retina a few months ago. I do not understand why I have more than 100 GB of Others in my storage? Can anyone please explain?

My MacBook Pro with Retina display suddenly gave me a message when I boot up ie 'Your startup Disk is full' then after using a few more times, the screen suddenly become frozen white. Upon getting help, I managed to delete some files but when I checked the Storage space, the largest occupied space was orange color, named 'Others' which is more than 100 GB out of the total 120 GB!! I am surprised and do not understand what 'Others' mean. It is definitely not Audio, Video, Pictures, documents etc It is not mail too. If anyone can tell me what 'Others' in storage mean and how to see the contents of 'Others' so that I can delete those irrelevant files. Any advice and guidance is very much appreciated. I recently downloaded Mountain Lion so now I have iMessage on my computer and phone. I go through out the day messaging people then at the end of the day I turn my computer on and get a million imessage notifications. Is there a way to stop this?

Select Messages in the left column.
Clear the check box for Show in Notification Center.

There is no "adding" a device. Simply plug the iDevice into the computer. iTunes should automatically detect the device when it is connected.
iTunes can sync/manage as many iDevices as you want... there is no 1 device limit.

Buy Snow Leopard - http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard - install it and do all the updates to 10.6.8 and then you can download and install Mountain Lion from the App Store (assuming that your Mac has the minimum requirements).

Macbook Pro Retina Display Cracked, is it replaceable or Do I have to replace the Whole Laptop?

Hi, I bought a Macbook Pro Retina about two months ago....
And a few days ago I cracked the Display on the Bottom Left Corner (3 inch)...
Now I am getting vertical and Horizontal Lines.....
I called a Apple Premium Reseller they told me I have to repalce the whole **** Laptop... is it real or I can just change the Display assembly only?
If so How much will it cost?

Assuming that it is just the screen that is broken, it should be replaceable, but it will cost a lot. (How much I don't know.) Of course, if you dropped it or something similar, there could be all manner of other damage that you can't see. I dropped my previous MacBook Pro (didn't crack the screen), and when it finally failed, the diagnosis was a damaged logic board, and the total repair cost would have been over $1,000, with no guarantees that other components might not also be damaged. I opted to simply replace the machine rather than pay that much and run the risk of other expensive repairs in the future.

Hello, when I loaded up my Macbook pro Retina today (4 months old) I noticed the battery wasn't charging and the power logo says power source: adaptor, I have tried SMC reset but that hasn't fixed the problem, need some advice as to what to do now?

What % is the battery at? If it's at 95% and above, it won't charge. It must get lower to charge. If it was lower than that and it won't charge no matter what, you'll need to contact AppleCare because you can't service that laptop yourself for this issue if it is a bad battery.

You can reset a Password (lost/forgotten) set on your Mac using 'Reset Password Utility' available with OS X Utilities tool. With OS X Mountain Lion, OS X Utilities tool can be generally found on a local hidden Recovery HD Partition if your Mac has one.
To check If your Mac has got a local hidden Recovery HD Partition, start your Mac holding COMMAND + R buttons. If you hold the keys pressed enough and there is a local Recovery HD Partition on your Mac, you will be presented with OS X Utilities window.
Click the 'Tool' menu item and choose 'Reset password'. Terminal window appears. Type 'resetpassword' into it and press 'Enter'. Reset Password window appears with User Account Names available on your Start-up Volume. Select the User Account Name and rest is simple to follow.
One of the advantages of this method is that it does not require any Authorization method such as administrative authentication to reset a password.
NOTE: If your Mac does not have a local hidden Recovery Partition on its system disk, you can create one using Disk Assistant application available from Apple. Search for the Disk Assistant in the support area.
