If your phone is jailbroken, we can't help you, as already stated.
If you're new to this and you're trying to download apps to put on your phone and it is NOT jailbroken, you can't do that.
You must go through the iTunes app store.

did you use your sons apple id to purchase those apps? if you did it will be tied to that apple id.
have you check settings - app store - apple id - log out and then log in with yours.

I have changed my Apple ID when I got a new email address and confirmed it. However when I go to my iPad to buy an app my old Apple ID comes up and will not recognize the password. I'm running the same version of Firefox on one computer in Windows 7 and on another computer in Windows XP. How can I make them look the same? Bookmarks is a button on the right in W7 and a tab at the top left in XP.

I am already running Sync for bookmarks, but I don't understand how to make Firefox have the same format at the top of the screen. I don't want to Sync tabs, so I haven't tried that option.

There is no bookmarks tab, expect you are referring to the bookmarks menu on the menu bar ("File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, Help") on your XP system.
Once your restore your menus on you Window 7 system, you can get rid of the bookmarks button. After going through the 10 steps below your toolbars on your Windows 7 system will be more usable again and like your XP system, none of which has anything to do with Sync.

Three Macs felled by viruses. How can I wipe them without the original discs?

We have 3 Macs: pre-metal iMac, metal iMac, and a Macbook Air. All 3 are infected by something. There is someone who takes control of the cursor while we are using the computers. My wife came home to find Facetime open and recording.
I want to wipe all 3 and start over, but the last time I tried to do that with a Mac, it kept asking for the original discs that came with the computer. I don't have any of those anymore. All computers are older than 3 years. Two are running Mavericks, but that wasn't their original OS, and the pre-metal iMac is running Snow Leopard (I think).
I don't want to wipe them if I can't put an OS back on them.
I purchased Lion in the app store and I found my old snow leopard upgrade discs, but I don't have any of the original start up discs for these computers.

That could be a hardware issue. And it has nothing to do with viruses.
Also your hard disk should never be over 85% full.
Turn off all automatic updaters.
Make sure Spotlight is fully indexed.
Make sure Time Machine is only in use when you aren't in the middle of using it, if you use it. If you use another backup software, only use it when you aren't in the middle of using the computer.
Check that your permissions are good.
Check that your logfiles have a chance to rotate in the middle of the night with screen saver on, and not energy saver.

Open Sysem Preferences from your Apple () menu top left in your screen then select the Firewall tab.

Congratulations on your new computer! It sounds like you need to authorize it with your Apple ID. Use these steps to authorize your new computer:
To authorize a computer, follow these steps:
Open iTunes.
Choose Store > Authorize This Computer from the menu bar.
You may need to show the menu bar to see this option in Windows. In earlier versions of iTunes, you can access this option from the Advanced menu.
Enter your Apple ID and click Authorize.

ok well like lllaass said, most apps require 4.3 or later iOS software. chances are since the apps worked before, the apps themselves got updated and will no longer work with your software version.
