I downloaded the acrobat XI install and it hangs as just a grey background.

In the pictures of what is supposed to happen there should be a download then install bar. I have try many times to redownload the install and even tried different versions. I have also tried to regedit adobe acrobat off my computer to see if that would help. I am at a loss as what is wrong with this computer's installation.
Any ideas?

uninstall all acrobat versions and adobe reader versions.
if you have a pc, clean (Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs)
then reinstall.

What OS? Have you tried a repair and updates from the HELP menu? The updates may be the key.

Hi, I believe I made a mistake when installed Acrobat XI Professional over the CS6 Master version Acrobat X Professional. The result ended up with running a trial version of Acrobat XI Professional. I wanted to upgrade but not using the subscription version, but rather buy the software and own it, like with my CS6 Master Software. Well, I now uninstalled the Acrobat XI Professional and wondering if I now can download the Acrobat X Pro software, install it and use the CS6 Master license number to get going ?

Well. After downloading the separate full version of Acrobat X Professional, it could not be installed using the serial # for CS6 Master Collection. I started the installation for CS6 Master Collection and ONLY selected Acrobat X Professional. Voila! Now everything is working.

I am having problems downloading files from the web. After a number of files are downloaded, the system become sluggish, and then hangs. I traced the problem to the download history file: downloads.sqlite.

After downloading a number of 1.0 MB files, the system became very sluggish, and I started to get lots of (Not Responding) messages when trying to download or just use Firefox for browsing. Using Performance Monitor, I observed that the Firefox executable was growing larger and larger - up to as large as 1.2 GB on a system with 2.0 GB memory. Page faults were off the chart.
Looking for a similar problem, I found one that discussed the downloads.sqlite file becoming corrupted. I first noticed that this file was over 600 MB in size, so I deleted it. I then downloaded additional files, and observed that the new downloads.sqlite file would increase in size by about 150% of the size of each file that was downloaded. Once it would get up to 500 MB in size, the system started slowing down again.
I don't know the purpose of this file, but it appears that it keeps a full copy of every file downloaded, which may be the function of a download history file, but it does not seem correct that the file should grow in size without limit, and thus impact the system.
I would also appear that the Firefox executable is trying to read the entire contents of this file each time a new file is downloaded, which does not seem right.
Temporary fix is to periodically delete the downloads.sqlite file when it gets too large and starts impacting performance.. Apparently it is smart enough to open a new file if the old one is not found. I am not sure what the correct behavior for this file should be. Apparently is does not re-initialize when a new Firefox session is initiated.
Please feel free to contact me if more information is desired. I'm not sure what details you might need to troubleshoot this type of problem.

Thanks for your help Karen Serena. Obviously, it appears in the list of printers and scaners on the left, into the "Print and Scan" with system preferencies. Then i click it , it appears on the right, then i click "open scanner" below the name and opens a window writing "open device failed". When i connect the scanner, it makes a sound but that's all...the scanner is dead, even if I push any button...Also there isn't any window opened to prove the function of the scanner, only is shown in the scanner list, that's all.

Nope, you can install it on your new computer with no issues. The disc contains both the 32 and 64 bit versions.

Let's try a repair install of iTunes first.
Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "iTunes" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "iTunes", click "Change" and then click "Repair".

I gotten to notification to upgrade,i downloaded the stuff last night and it's not installing;my pc

You can bypass the failed update system by downloading it and using a Thumbdrive to upgrade it get a 16GB. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 I also have one machine fail because it had a small system partition of 100MB I used a free tool to move the partitions around gave the system on 12gb.

Odonnells52 you will still need to install Adobe Acrobat Professional prior to being able to make edits to PDF or utilize Acrobat. By default the installation files have been saved to your download folder.

You can also download the installation files directly from Download Acrobat products | Standard, Pro | XI, X if you are unable to locate the downloaded installation files.
