I erroneously deleted some background icons, that now have left me with only thumbnail images, what appears when I want to enlarge is a grey circle containing a black exclamation symbol, how can I get back full function and undo my mistake
I have erroneoulsy deleted icons repetious images from the computer which then affected my iphoto images, leaving me in some cases only with the thembnail image. When I try to enlarge or perform any other function all that appears is a black field containing a grey circle with a black exclamation symbol( !)
within it. How to I get back full function of these affected images and undo my goof up. I have tried restore, but my attempts have not proved successful.
Help !!!

What exactly did you do to delete these?
How did you try to "restore" and what did you try to restore?
Probably the only solution is to restore your backup of the iPhoto library from before you did this

You could check settings > mail contacts and calandars and see if there are any accounts (like icloud gmail yahoo) listed and if they have contacts on. Its possible if contacts were synced to one of these accounts that turning them back on will recover the missing contacts.

Both programmes will give you a free download to scan your HD and see if the files are recoverable, but you'll have to pay for the full application to actually recover them.
In this case I doubt there'll be much left to recover as the files will probably have been overwritten by now. If you're really desperate you could try a Forensic recovery service, but you'd be talking 4-figure cost with no guarantee of useable results. -

I had an 1,5 hour long interview on an iPhone 4 and tried to get it into the computer somehow. Couldn't sync the phone to itunes, the iPhone didn't even show up at first when I plugged it in. So I tried to do the "shorten and email"-thing, allthough I happened to do it the wrong way. Instead of choosing share and make the app email parts of it, I chose to shorten it. Problem is, everything except for the first 5 minutes is gone. All of this happened while the phone was connected to the computer, allthogh I couldn't find any voice memos on itunes since I believe it never synced.
Anyone who knows if I can get the full lengt of the voice memo back? Is it saved somewhere as a file or something on the iPhone? I'm new with iPhone so don't know much.
Please help, it's an important intervview.
ElinI also had my ringtones...bought in Itunes...wiped out. So I went ahead and bought a new one. I synced it with the cable, and it is in the playlist as a ringtone. But when I go to edit the contact, the ringtone doesn't show up in the list. However, there is a Buy a Ringtone category at the top of the list.
On the upgrade, I lost a number of paid APPS. I don't know if its a scheme by Apple to make more money on a free upgrade or they just screwed up everyone with this. -
How can a get a full function distiller dialog box for saving PDF files in Illustrator?
I would like to know if there is some type of plug-in, etc. out there that would allow me to have all the functionality of a Distiller dialog box when I save a PDF out of Illustrator CS5. Right now, I just have what comes installed with Illustrator. It's a stripped down version of what you would find in distiller.
In what way is it stripped down? Can you explain what features you want?

I bought the new Iphone 4s. I backed up my old 3gs on Itunes store before trading in my old Iphone. I sync my new phone and I have all of my apps but non of the high scores. For example I played all of the angry birds and had three stars on all levels. Now I have the app on my Iphone but I am back no levels completed. How do I fix this problem. My Itunes store is on a PC running Windows 7
Under the answer you want to mark as correct you should see a box that says Correct with a green symbol to the left and a box with Helpful with an orange star to the left. Click on the one you want.

I am working on two macbooks and an imac. I upgraded all the software last weekend and am now running all three computers on Lion. Over the last week, about 50% of the time when I click the mouse (whether it be the "pad" mouse on the macbooks or the standard mouse on my imac) it acts as thought I've right-clicked. How do I stop this insanity?! I want my old no-right-click mouses back!

Go to to the Trackpad System Preference and look at the Point and Click tab.
Uncheck the box that says "Tap to Click"
I found my track pad to be way too sensitive and I was finding myself in web pages I did not choose to go to. Unchecking that box will make it so you have to press the track pad to make it click something as opposed to just tapping it. It is more effort but also less sensitive to random taps.

You should be importing all pics and vids taken with iphone regularly as you would with any digital camera, most especially before any update or restore
If you failed to do this, then they are very likely gone.

That is either a bug in Firefox 5 or the script has a problem with Firefox 5.<br />

Sign in and select "See All" in Purchase History.
You can only see them in "batches" of ten. As far as I know there is no way to obtain a comprehensive summary.
The prices are tabulated in that list. If they were supposed to be free, and they show that you were charged, then click the arrow next to the suspect purchases and click "report a problem". -

Remove the contacts from 'On My Mac' you don't have duplicates, you are looking at 2 accounts at once. -
I just finished using iTunes, closed out and then tried to get ack in. Got this message "The iTunes library .9tl file is locked, on a locked disk, or you do not have write permission for this file." How can I get back ino iTunes ?
I actually figured it out...I had to go to the iTunes Library Extras.itdb file and give myself permission to have full control. THEN, I could go and estore a previos version. Once I had done this, I got the same message for iTunes Library Genius.itdb . . . I did the same thing with it and Voila'!!
