I have a OSX IMAC Version 10.8.5. I got pages at the same time I purchased this computer. I use a document to write all my passwords. Seems like when I E-mail myself the document from pages, I have not been able to type in the document, it acts like it is locked. I checked all the "lock" and "unlock" fields, and none of them were locked. I notice the document says PDF. How do I correct this? Seems like I've tried everything. If you can help, that would be great!

As suggested I had deleted the free application and did a hard restart the iPad. I have again copied the document using iTunes. But I am not able to edit any document using this app. Document 2 (paid version) supports editing features of the txt/ xls /ppt files. Is there any problem while loading the Document 2 app. If I reload then do I need to purchase again?

You need to install Java for your Mac OS version, and/or make sure it's enabled in the Java Preferences application and your browser's preferences.

Not valid use of the New word

I have an old script in visual basic 6 which I need to modify.
In the variables declaration I have the following:
Dim test as mscomm
and later I instantiate this variable in the following way:
set test = new mscomm
In the components I have selected the following:
Microsoft comm control 6.0
I must say that it works fine when I have this in an ocx but I would like to debug a piece of code. The error is in the line with the New and the error is: Not valid use of the New word.
Can anybody help me?

You can't have the "set" in VB.NET.
If you create a new project and copy-paste the old VB6 code into your file it will convert most of the code for you to be compatible with VB.NET.
I think MSComm might be a Shared class. If so you don't need "test = new mscomm"
You can just use "test.CommPort = 2" for example. I'm not sure about this because this is the only example I could find.

One possibility, is a strange occurence when applying the big 10.5.8 combo, most people have to Repair Permissions twice in a row, then reboot.

Not able to use the deleted Del. document serial nos

I am not able to reuse the reverse PGI document serial nos.
Proess is like that I have done PGI with serial no. and due to some reason i have to reverse the PGI and further i deleted the existing del. doc no. . Now when i am going to reuse the serial no. for new del. no. it is showing error that the serial no. has
customer status.

Hi Ajit,
It simple to correct it.
Problem is when you reverse the delivery and Delete the status has not been changes.
For resolving this issue, you should have the access of T-code IQ02 --> enter your material number and serial number --> Enter --> Click at "Edit" (Menu) --> Special Serial number function --> Manual Transaction --> Select "To stock" --> Status become ESTO --> then you can use it for other order or delivery.

Yes, the whole sales document could not be deleted as well.
Sorry for the misleading answer.
As per the long text of error V1006, the document cannot be completely
deleted because further processing has already taken place. Even though
you have cancelled the subsequent documents, if you refer to the
document flow, the subsequent documents might have already been created
The cancellation of these does not delete the request.
Please have a look at table VBFA in transaction SE16 and you can see
that the subsequence documents are still displayed.
What you can do is to enter a reason of rejection for all items to
prevent further processing of the request.
Please refer to Note 147028, you don't need to apply
this note, please refer to part of "NOTE:...".This is a restriction
of the system.
For order-related billing, it is not possible to delete the sales
document, even if the subsequent invoice has been cancelled.
You have to reject the items.

Could be many things, we should start with this...

4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)

Unfortunately I lost my life and am trying to rebuild. Isn't the technical era great.
Backup, backup, backup
As a minimum, use 3-2-1 (or even more)
3 copies of your data (original copy counts as 1)
2 different backup utilities/storage formats (protects from bugs in the software)
1 copy off-site (protects against theft, fire, and natural disaster)
More backup copies are even better.
Backup disks are cheap compared to the lost of personal data that does not exist anywhere else.

Not able to edit the words "chapter" and "section" in the document workflow

Hi all,
I would like to point out something that could be a bug. The 2 words "chapter" and "section" are not editable in the document workflow: I can just change the title for each chapter and the title for each section, but I am not able to change the words "chapter" and "section".
The problem is, iBooks Author is using the words "chapter" and "section" (heading 1) to build the TOC: if I am using iBooks Author in English, but I am writing a text in French, I am not able to change "Chapter" into "Chapitre". The only way to go, what I found out, is to close the app, change the OSX Lion system language, log out, re-open iBooks Author and start a new book: opening an English book in the French version of iBooks Author will not change automatically the language in the workflow.
Does anybody has a trick to edit the words "chapter" and "section"?

Thank you, but it's still in english.
I changed to "only number", then wrote the word "chapter" in french or italian or german before the number, then deleted the preview on the iPad and made a new preview, I still have the same result: the word "chapter" is still in the language of the app.
To be clear: I am writing a text using iBooks Author in italian. I have to translate the same text in french, the fastest way would be to rework the italian version (I already have all the multimedia stuff inside). I changed the italian word "Capitolo" (chapter) to the french one "Chapitre" (using the advices of AodhFFXI and K T). And for the first slide of the chapter that's fine.
But if I "close down" the first chapter slide or if I click on the top left botton to go to the chapter TOC, there I still have the word in italian, even if the word has been deleted in the layout:

I have a sharepoint 2010 publishing site, which i have version upgraded to Sharepoint 2013.
I have the below features already activated:
1.Activate office sharepoint publishing infrastructure feature at site collection level.
2. Activate office sharepoint publishing feature at site level.
Also, versioning is enabled in the pages - document library settings.
The page does not seem to be checked-out by anybody else, and I am trying to edit the page using the system account.
I am not able to modify the page, and the ribbon does not show up.
What am i missing?

I have downloaded pages from the App Store onto my Apple Mac and I am not able to find it on my laptop. I have tried using finder and that doesn't but when I go on apple store it has downloaded.

Did you look in the Applications folder where the Applications are?
