You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.
Also, see iTunes- Restoring iOS software.

I can't update to iOS 7 as need to delete data but have forgot my restrictions pass code so it won't work ....help

If you have a backup that was created before you entered the passcode you can restore from that backup to remove it from the iPad. If not, you have to restore the iPad as new in order to remove the passcode.
You may have some success finding the passcode with a third party app like this.

I forgot my ipad restriction pass code now I can't turn it off or delete or install any new software updates if anybody can help me know if there is another way to turn that feature off?

There is no way. You must restore the device as new. You can only restore a backup you made prior to when you put the restriction code in place.

  • HT201304 I forgot my restriction pass code , how do I retrieve it or change it?

I have forgotten my restrictions pass code.  How do I retrieve my pass code or how can I change it.  Thanks

There is no way to retrieve it. You have to restore to factory settings.
Restoring from a backup will simply restore the restrictions passcode that you cannot remember - unless in the unlikely event that you have a backup that predates the restrictions passcode, then you could restore from that backup.

  • I put a restrictions pass code on my iPad and forgot the password. I tried to reset it to factory settings but that means I lose all my purchases and I don't wanna lose $ 25 worth of purchases. I tried restoring it but brings back restrictions code....

How do I get rid of the restrictions pass code but keep my apps?

You won't lose purchases. They can be downloaded to your iTunes library on your computer and backed up.
You can also redownload your purchases directly from your iPad after the restore by signing into the iTunes and App stores with your Apple ID:
Open iTunes Store app > Purchased
Open App Store app > Purchased

  • HT201269 Forgot my restrictions pass code!! Help!

How do you retrieve restrictions pass code if you forget?! New device and number due to switching phone carrier and restored from iTunes but having major issues! Seems to have me logged in on both devices and after 3 hours at retail store still no changes! Help!

You cannot retrieve the restrictions passcode. If you have forgotten it, then you can only restore the phone as new. The passcode is in the backup so restoring from a backup will only put it back.

  • HT4113 I forgot my restrictions pass code how can I fix this without losing all my other stuff?

I forgot my restrictions passcode how can I fix this without losing all my other stuff

    Forgotten RESTRICTIONS Passcode
    - Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and restore via iTunes. For how to restore: iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    You have to either:
    - Restore from a backup that was make before you added the Restrictions passcode. If you restore from a backup made with the Restrictions passcode the Restrictions passcode is also restored.
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    - You can get some photos back if you used PhotoStream then try getting them from your PhotoStream. See that topic of:

  • What do I do if I forgot my restrictions pass code?

What do I do If I forgot my restrictions passcode

    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
Learn how to use iTunes to restore your iOS device.
Try restoring the iOS device if backing up and erasing all content and settings doesn't resolve the issue. Using iTunes to restore iOS devices is part of standard isolation troubleshooting. Restoring your device will delete all data and content, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar information, and will restore all settings to their factory condition.
    Before restoring:
Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes.
    Back up your device.
Transfer and sync content to your computer.
    Restoring your iOS device
Connect your device to your computer.
Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes. Select the Summary tab, and click the Restore button.
    Click Restore.
After a restore, the iOS device restarts. You should then see "Slide to set up". Follow the steps in the iOS Setup Assistant.
If needed, restore your device from a previous backup.
If restoring does not finish successfully or if a restore error appears, see iOS: Resolving update and restore alert messages.
    Additional Information
If your device is continually restarting, not responding, or showing the Apple logo with no progress bar or a stopped progress bar, place the device into recovery mode and try restoring again.
Devices with cellular service should activate after a restore. If activation is not successful, see this article.

  • Is restriction pass code different to iPad lock code

I  just tried to get into restrictions but pass code is wrong..have changed main pass code recently..are they different..can't remember old code..how do I sort out please.?

They are different features with different codes. I recommend using the same code for both features so when you change one, change the other. If you can not remember the code you will have to Restore the iPad as a new iPad setting it up from scratch again. You can try Restoring to a back up although the back up will need to be from before the passcode was set otherwise it will just be set again with the backup.
If you search the net there are other methods of recovering some passwords from iPads although the above method is the easiest.

  • Forgot 4-digit pass code to unlock iPad

I forgot my 4 digit password to my iPad. I there a way of retrieving it out without having to reset it?

Follow the instructions on this page : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212
If you are prompted to enter the passcode then you will need to reset it back to factory defaults - you have a recent backup to which you can then restore to ?

  • I forgot the restriction pass code in my I pad, now unable to use various applications

    forgot restriction passcode

The only way around that is to do an erase of all content and settings and then restore from a backup that predates when the restrictions code was added.  Unlike the lock passcode, the restrictions passcode is stored as part of the backup of the iOS device.
SeeiTunes: About iOS backups for where iTunes keeps the backups for different operating systems.

  • What do I do to get into restrictions if I forgot my restrictions pass code

I have forgotten my restrictions password what do I do?

You will have to restore from a backup made before you created the restrictions password.  The restrictions password is saved as part of a backup so you have to go back to before the restrictions.  Or else restore to factory condition and then reinstall apps you have purchased/downloaded and setup all of the account information for things like Mail, etc.

  • I have forgotten my restrictions pass code on my ipad 2. I've made 20 attempts to remember. How many more will I get? There is no way I'm wiping it. It's is just ridiculous. Why can't they find a way to re-set it for you!?!

I'm certain I have actually entered the password I chose as I have only 3 that I ever use. I have now tried 20 times and not guessed it. I did not realise that restricting adult content would mean I can't use any apps that use adult content occasionally, e.g I assumed I would still be able to use BBC iPlayer but that it would not be possible for my daughter or anyone else to access programmes of an adult content. Wrong. It stops you from using the app at all just because some programmes have that content. In true Apple style there was no warning of this beforehand. Just as there was no warning before I set the passcode that if I forgot it, I'd have to wipe the device. I'm getting pretty fed up with Apple all told. When I my first iPhone fell into a drain it took 3 hour long calls from London to California just to get my photos back on the phone when they should have been there automatically. It then took 10 months to recover the music which should have again been there automatically.
Please, does anybody know how many times I can try guessing the passcode before something awful happens, like it wipes the content anyway? I only really use the iPad to watch tv and now I can't even do that! My apple devices have caused me nothing but woe. The whole system is so unbelievably un-user friendly.
    Any advice very welcome indeed.
    Thanks

Thanks for that. Much more constructive than the last comment. It's only the restriction code I can't recall, not the access passcode. So I can currently access the device, just not age restricted content. Does that's make a difference? I also wondered if anyone knew how many attempts you get to try to get it right. Now tried 21 times and so far nothing bad has happened but I am concerned I'll eventually be completely locked out of the device. That doesn't seem in the spirit of things though. Surely it's foreseeable that a child could repeatedly try to guess the code so I can't see that it would be right to lock the device down completely in that circumstance, particularly if the access code is being typed in correctly every time.
    Thanks
