I get the error: Unable to load a GUI

Every time I try to download the latest version of Flash Player I end up with the error message : Unable to load a GUI. I did the live chat with Adobe Support and they narrowed it down to being technical. How should I fix this? I have to fix it or I won't be able to download flash player.

Thank you MerryMort, you've been a lifesaver! I checked out your last post, and the link you put up helped. It started up the download manager instantly. I tested out youtube and the videos there started up instead of giving me the message to install last version of flash player! Again thanks.

Please take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Test after each one. Back up all data before making any changes.
1. Make sure that the right volume is selected in the Startup Disk preference pane.
2. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed to start up. If there's no change, reconnect them
3. Reset the System Management Controller.
4. Reset the PRAM.
5. Start up in safe mode, then restart as usual. If you can't start in safe mode—for instance, if FileVault is active—then triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
/var/folders
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu. A Finder window should open with an item named "folders" selected. Move the selected item to the Trash. You'll be prompted for your administrator password. Restart and empty the Trash.

You need to have permission to download ActiveX Controls and write to the Windows Registry and you'll find info on that
in the link for troubleshooting, in addition to other info. So be sure to read the 19166 article.
Do you have an Anti-Virus that is going to block a download? Does your Anti-Virus block installation of ActiveX or software? How about your Firewall, does it do the same?
Do you use Norton or McAfee?
I don't know what all of the posts are about this GUI, but use the links I provided. Until a person within the last few days, made a big deal about GUI, I had never heard of it before!!

I am getting the error "Unable to connect to data warehouse management server" when I try to register it DWMS

I have a Data Warehouse Server that appears to be functioning but is running System Center Service Manager 2010 (w/ out SP1), Also have a functioning Configuration Management Server with Reporting Services Point installed the is running System Center
2012. Both systems are VM's running Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise w/ SP1 fully patched. Both systems are running SQL Server 2008 R2 as well. When I try to register the Data Warehouse Server via the GUI using the console or in Powershell it errors
out. Particularly on the GUI with the error "Unable to connect to data warehouse management server". I can browse to it, ping it, get the configuration management reports to run and show my AD assets, etc... but it will not register the DWS. I have
tried every suggestion TechNet has to offer and I am hitting a wall. Can someone please, please, please help!?!

Recently upgraded to windows XP from NT and get the error "can not load control"

I am using a LabVIEW VI to run two Opteon digital cameras. Originally, they were run off a Windows NT machine, however it ran out of hard drive space and we had to upgrade to a Windows XP machine. I installed all the new drivers from Opteon, however when I run the VI on the new system it does not load the image viewer or scroll bars and I recieve the error "could not load control". The control for the view screen is "MVCamView" and the control for the scrollbars is "MSForms.IScrollbar". The drivers sent to me by Opteon work fine, as the free program that Opteon sent has no problems.

Thank you for the question. Try uninstalling all components of iTunes in the order specified of the article below. Once this is done attempt to install iTunes again.

I receive the error: Unable to load block component C:\Program Files\Hyperception\VABINF\KeyRcv.dll

I have two Major issues with our Infinity Project computers,
We have one entire lab that is getting this error... "Unable to load
block component C:\Program Files\Hyperception\VABINF\KeyRcv.dll.
Please verify that the component exists and any dependencies it may
have are satisfied." It is also producing this error with
NumEntry.dll. Both files exist. I am not sure what
dependencies these files may have. Ideas?
We have several systems that are giving the following error on one of
our labs... "You have exceeded the number of block functions allowed by
VAB for Infinity; contact Hyperception regarding upgrades." From
what The professor here at UTA told me when I first took on this
project, this was a problem that we had on the previous boards and that
someone at Hyperception was able to help us resolve this problem.
Can you help out with these issues? The first one I need an answer today if possible.

We have seen this type of problem on some computers (we do not know why as of yet).The problem with missing blocks is very likely being caused by file permissions, and can be seen when non-administrators are using VAB software. To resolve this: 1. login as ADMINISTRATOR 2. run the command line script from a DOS prompt as shown below: cacls "C:\Program FIles\Hyperception\VABINF" /T /E /G Everyone:F It will scroll through the name of every file in the provided directory, and all subdirectories. This should reset every file, and allow the USER to access all files in VAB software. This should correct the problem. Regards,Steve

HT1926 I am trying to install the latest itunes, and I get the error, unable access C:\ProgramData\34BE82C4-E596-4e99-A191-52C6199EBF69\GEARIFix.exe. I can access this dir via explorer but there is no such .exe.

I am using Windows 7 and had to deinstall iTunes as it failed on a previous instal. i was told to update my iphone to iOS 6 so that I could get the iOS 6 supporting version of itunes.
I have followed the FAQ to resolve install issues and have no apple software installed on my machine
During install I get a dilog box open, with a retry and cancel buttons with the notice that the iTunes install cannot access the following file:

this is the latest version of iTunes10.7.0.21 x64. The error I get is

x64. I can paste and delete a file to this directory, which confirms I have access.

Whichever tool, does your package still have the same issues with those other LMS?
If so, something is likely indeed wrong with the package.
If not, then the issue is likely with the Saba LMS.
In general, issues like this are often related to framesets. CP should search the browser windows for the API. If it can't find it, something may be interfering with that API 'hunt'.
Many LMS products log such communication so you can trace the errors. Ask you Saba Admin if there's any log/trace available you could examine?

Getting the Error - unable to acquire LMS API while running in a SABA LMS

I have seen this post before in the forum, but the solution is usually pretty simple. The person is trying to run a project published for a SCORM 1.2 LMS off of their desk top or some other location not connected to an LMS. But in this case, my project is packaged to run on a SCORM 1.2 LMS and this error is occurring within the LMS when the course launches. You can click on the "OK" button in the error dialog box and the course runs - although as the LMS administrator points out - the course also does not bookmark. I think maybe a connection? Has anyone encountered this? This is Captivate 8 running in IE off of a SABA LMS. In accordance with the LMS admin, it is packaged for SCORM 1.2. Thanks for any help!

We have a problem with Report Viewer print funtionality. Getting the error "Unable to load client print control." on click of Print button.
We tried all solutions posted in web - nothing resolves the issue.
The print works fine when we open the report via a browser. But the same is not working through our application. We have the application installed on the Report server itself and the user has Admin previleges.

In the control environment, users do not have permission to install any software. This SSRS has to be installed as administrator under “Install mode” in XenApp
server.
Yes, 32bit IE works for me but 64bit IE works too.
You just need to ensure which version of IE you’re using to install the SSRS. I’m not aware of using 32bit IE for SSRS installation in server but publish 64bit
IE to client. That’s my mistake.

Flex Builder 3 Error: Unable to load SWC

Hi,
I am trying to use the YahooMaps component (YahooMaps.swc) in
my application. I have included it in the build path of my
application.
Steps followed:
1. Right-click on the project and choose Properties or open
the Project menu and choose Properties.
2. In the project properties dialog, choose Flex Build Path.
3. Select the Library path tab, and press the Add SWC...
button.
4. Selected the YahooMap.swc
I still get "Unable to load SWC: YahooMap.swc". It is an AS
3.0 component. Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you for your reply.
I have followed the documentation on the site you provided.
All I have done so far is:
1. Create a new flex project in Flex Builder 3
2. Once the project is created, I try to add the YahooMap.swc
to my Flex build path.
3. Once I add the YahooMap.swc, it fails with the error
"Unable to load YahooMap.swc" in Flex Builder 3.
4. FB3 does not recognize YahooMap when I try to import it in
AS3.
import com.yahoo.maps.api.YahooMap;
I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Does it have to do
something with the version Y! has used to build the YahooMap.swc
and Flex Builder 3?
