I was able to with my 4s with no problems but with my new 5s, I just get that a message that says "Unable to connect to network [network name]" Thoughts on how to connect to the wifi network? My laptop is connected and using the wifi just fine.

However when I get there I am offered a screen which states "Enter Passcode", and have no clue as to what this should be given I never had to set this in the first place.
It expects 4 digit code, so any ideas?

You can try:

Does it charge? Does the iPod work?
I would try on another computer.

The photo sync is one-way: Computer to phone. Photos synced to your phone will have to be extracted from your phone using third-party software, if you want them on your computer, as Apple makes no provision to do so. Since you're using a Mac, you can use this:

Please can you help. My iPhone 5 has suddenly stopped being able to connect to my home wifi,unless I am standing right next to the rooter. If I take it into another room my iPhone 5 won't connect, it is able to see the network, but says unable to connect. My iPhone 4 and ipad is able to connect in all other rooms in the house still , where my 5 used to be able to connect. How can I fix this, it is clearly the phone an not the wifi.

Correct. When you update via iTunes all synced media that is not in your iTunes library will be lost.

I have trouble syncing the brand new iphone 4s with itunes account.
When I connect the phone it brings the itune page up on the left showing the iphone device as iphone but the centre page it just a white page withe a box giving me two choices. which one to start phone as a new account or make a a back up from an ipad that has been connected previously that i dont want to back up from. I do wish to backup my contacts that are itunes. Can anyone advice please.

If you don't want to restore your backup onto your new phone, choose the option that says to start phone as a new device (it shouldn't say new account)
From there, you can sync data from your computer to your device

Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

I was able to migrate all my stuff from the old iMac to the new iMac but can't access my VMware virtual machine. How do I transfer it from the old to the new.

1. use an ext hd or usb stick to copy them over to manually
2. transfer them manually over the network to a shared volume
never could get migrate to work at all from my old windows pc

Is there a way to sync outlook calendars into icloud? i'm not a very savy person when it comes to these issues. when i entered a appointment in my iphone, i can see it appear in the icloud calendar in the outlook but not the otherway.
or is it possible for outlook to accept invitations of appointment directly into icloud calendar in outlook?

do a reset, no data loss. HOld down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.

Wi-fi at home: it works with my laptop, but not with my iphone

Hey guys. I just got an iphone and i cannot connect to my wi-fi network, but i can with my laptop (it's an hp). Does anyone know anything that i can do to connect? It is password protected, but i entered the password with iphone. Also, when I turn the iphone on after sleep mode, it picks up the network signal, but when i try to go onto the internet or itunes it does not work. Thanks a lot guys!

I had the exact same problem, your wireless router has a firewall set up not allowing you to access the wi-fi. You need to go to your firewall security setup and you will see your firewall encryption, that's the password your iPhone wants. If the letters are seperated by comma's, do not enter them. For example, I have 128bit encryption, which has 13 sets of letters/numbers seperated by commas, without commas I have a total of 26. Enter that as shown and you should be able to use your wifi at home.

After installing 4.0 try to play games on Facebook by following another players request. The game page starts to load and then the information within the page disappears or goes white. I am still able to see facebook menu but not anything within page.

I installed 4.0 on two computers and they both are unable to access the Facebook game page. I have another computer with 3.6 and don't have a problem with it. On Facebook players send request to join them on games. When I go to that game the page begins to load information and then it just disappears or goes white. I still have a Facebook menu on top of page.

Because I am having issues with Norton Security Suite with the upgrade to Firefox 4.0.1, I have been dealing with that as well, with no success to-date. However, I did notice today when I was looking in my trash, an interesting thing occurred with the upgrade that MAY have something to do with the apps. in Facebook not working correctly now with Firefox.
In my trash, there are several folders of 'Recovered Files'. Two of them are loaded with Internet Plugins for Facebook and were all dumped on May 1st, the day I upgraded to v. 4.0.1 Firefox and began having all my problems. For example, they are plugins like: plugin-cross domain.xml, plugin-gateway-1.php, plugin-102452128776.gz-72.json, just to name a few of them. Now, I am wondering if they were inadvertently removed during the upgrade process, or if they are in conflict with the new upgrade. Should I put them all back into Library -->Internet Plug-Ins to see if that resolves the problems? There are so many of them, I wish there was a way to mark them in some fashion in case I would have to remove them and not take the wrong ones out! Maybe there is a way I can color code them before I move them. I hate using 2 browsers!
I notice that 2 other people have this problem but I don't see where they left any post. I really wish Norton, Firefox, and Facebook would get this ironed out. I never had a problem with anything until this and I don't like to spend all my time trying to troubleshoot something I don't understand! Anyway, thanks for listening.

i tried setting up the printer under my wireless network only, and using the printer information, tried both and nothing works, my imac's same settings for the printer, and just cant get it to work.
i am ussing airport extreme, and it shows printer conecting etc. but then it says not programed correctly and it fails.

Could you open System Profiler on the iMac and the MBPro and select the Printers entry. Then in the top right pane you can select the printers entry and the bottom right pane will show information about your setup. Can you copy this information from both Mac's and paste back here.
