In short. No, you cannot unsync. If you had a back up from your old iPhone you cand restore from a back up.
In iTunes go to Edit > Preferences > Devices > and select the latest back up.
Before you synced your phone did you have it set up with the PhotoStream or iCloud? The pictures would be saved there. Or if you had them sync to a file on your computer.

Hi, Yes the phone was synced with my old admin account on the same computer there seemed to be problems with that account (recognsing the printer, various glitches etc) so I opened another admin account on the same computer. Made the first account non administration and transfered all my stuff to the new one. Now the iphone wont sync with the new one.

I bought the iphone while on holiday in the US, promised by salesperson that the phone was unlocked. Back home in Australia, put my Virgin SIM into the phone. No service. Tried to sync with itunes, no go. Message says that SIM is not authorised. Does this mean that the sales person lied to get a sale? How can I get it unlocked if this is the case?

Apple began selling the iPhone as officially unlocked via their online store on June 14th and I assume the same was/is available via Apple's retail stores as well. This is not available via Apple's official retailers in the US such as at Best Buy, Walmart, and Radio Shack stores.
Doubtful if this mobile shop in NY is an official Apple retailer for the iPhone but regardless, they would not be selling the officially unlocked iPhone.
There is nothing indicating ATT anywhere on the retail sales box?
If it shows ATT as the carrier when selecting the phone icon - I'm not sure what this means since my iPhone does not show ATT when I select the Phone icon with my iPhone which is carrier locked with ATT, this obviously means you did not purchase an unlocked iPhone. If this iPhone is unlocked, it was hacked to be unlocked.
The Apple store there will not help. The iPhone's warranty is honored in the country where the iPhone was sold officially by Apple only.
Why didn't you purchase an iPhone in your country where it is sold as officially unlocked and where you would have Apple support and a warranty? -
Basically my iTunes playlists have gone missing. They were there yesterday and today I got a replacement iphone. I connected it to itunes and they were gone I was left with just 3 songs I had downloaded from the itunes store. I've read previous posts about recovering them but I can't find 'previous iTunes library' the folder with the dates in for exaple itunes library 2012-03-09.itl - all I can find is music - itunes then one a few options but none that has the dates on
Any other ideas

New iPhone no longer syncs with iTunes or charges via MacBook

seen that there are quite a few varied posts concerning iPhones that aren't syncing but none that have the exact problem that I've currently got, which is:
I have a week old iPhone 3GS, I have connected it to my mac a couple of times and it worked and charged fine via the usb cable, however it is now not doing anything when attached, if the handset is turned of it automatically turns on but doesn't show that it is charging or syncing.
I have followed all of the trouble shooting advice via mac support but still no joy, any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
I was hoping that my new toy was going to be a little more user friendly than this, I'm an experienced Mac user and am a little dismayed at problems so early into the honeymoon period with my shiny new iPhone.

Just out of interest, I have read that this can be caused by syncing certain podcasts but I've only put a couple of dozen tunes that I already had in my iTunes library onto the phone, any ideas as to why the issue may have happened?

I have an iphone 3GS that I have inactivated as of today. I still wish to sync this phone with iTunes (did a restore as I transferred my data to a new iPhone). However, iTunes is giving me an error message that there is no SIM card installed in the iPhone I'm attempting to activate. I've powered off the phone, held the power button & home button until iTunes popped up with restore note. Re-did the restore (twice) but still coming up with same error message.
Kind of what I figured.....will I be able to sync to iTunes in future as many times as I want without the SIM card (once it's activated again)?

I purchased a new iphone 4s just before Christmas, and have yet to get it to sync completely with my itunes. I downloaded the newest itunes to my PC, plugged in my new phone and itunes stops responding. Typically i get to step 5, where the phone is syncing my apps. Mainly I'd like to sync my itunes music to my phone. I am using the icloud to backup my contacts and calendar.
I have removed itunes, and reinstalled, but still no luck.
Any thoughts?

I jumped onto Parallels ie running pc on my Mac and downloaded iTunes which does the job its a bit clunky but does the job,, any other thoughts? appreciate your help btw

I've gone through the entire recharge/retry/restart/restore sequence. Turned my laptop off and on. Searched for (and found) the usbapp.sys driver in the Windows32 driver folder. Found my iPhone in the hardware device list, but not under the Universal Serial Bus list; it's under Imaging Devices. This hasn't caused a problem with my iTouch.
I hesitate to reload iTunes because my iTouch G2 just synched perfectly earlier tonight.
I talked to an Apple tech earlier this evening, and when I reloaded the iPhone software, the iPhone was being recognized by iTunes. However, after the restore was completed and I tried to synch, my iPhone was seen by Windows as a camera (as usual) but not visible in iTunes.
I have read both troubleshooting white papers on the Apple support site, so please don't send me there. I'm about to take back this iPhone tomorrow if I can't get it to synch.OK, here's what fixed it. I did an "update driver" on the iPhone listing in Imaging Devices, and had browse for usbaapl.sys. I'd already done a search for that file and found it in three places, so I just copied the location of one of the instances into the Browse window. Windows found the driver, changed my iPhone from an Imaging Device to a USB device (in Device Manager) and voila! iTunes could find my new iPhone.

IPhone won't sync with iTunes over Wi-Fi, asking me to restore???
I just tried syncing my iPhone to iTunes over Wi-Fi, which usually works with no problem. The sync didn't work, and there was an error message stating that I need to plug my phone into the computer and restore its factory settings. Why did this happen? Is there a way I can fix this without restoring? I don't want to lose all of the contents off my phone. This usually works fine but it's acting up for some strange reason.Please help!

You need to start over with Music. On the iPhone Music screen uncheck sync music. Also, on the Summary screen uncheck "Manually manage music and videos", then sync and it should clear off your phone.
Next, choose the music you want to sync. If you want to fit more on check "Convert higher bit rate songs to 128 kbps AAC". This will reduce quality slightly, but it won't be noticable unless you are using $300 headphones. -
