If your iPhone is locked to a wireless provider, only that wireless provider
can unlock it. Contact the wireless provider in Hong Kong to see if they
offer unlocking and if you qualify.
If your iPhone is locked to an AppleID that you do not know, return it for
a refund as it is useless. Only the person whose AppleID was used for
activation can remove the lock. There is no workaround for Activation Lock.
If neither of the above is what you are facing, provide more detail so someone
may offer a solution.

Yes you can.  All Ipad's are unlocked and can be used any where in the world. Buy the AT&T version which is GSM in other countries

No, the logic board needs to be replaced. But, here's your ptoblem: No authorized service center, In India, will touch a US iPhone. Thus, your only option is a third-party repair shop. But, since Apple does not sell iPhone parts, many on the market are counterfeit. In other words, if you go to a third-party repair shop, you take your chances as to what you end up with.
If you can't send the phone to someone in the US, that can go to an Apple store for you, & do an out of warranty exchange...cost is US $199...then sell the phone for parts or go to a third-party repair shop & hope you don't end up worse than you are now.
    Those are your options.
    Good luck.

  • Can I buy an iphone in the USA and use it in the UK with an o2 sim card?

I have just been re-issued an o2 pay monthly sim card as my phone was stolen. I'm going to NYC in September and was thinking of getting a iPhone in an apple store there. Will I be able to bring it home and use it in England with my o2 sim card? Or will I need to get it unlocked? Thank you

Thank you so much. This makes a lot of my sense. As my phone was stolen too, it probably makes sense to buy it in the UK and keep the reciept as i'm claiming on insurance ... I thought I might save money by getting it in the US, but actually you're right, after all the hassle and then the problems afterwards, probably best just to stick to the home country! Thank you.

  • After connecting to itune to down load and update my 3gs iphone it is now telling me "no sim card" How can I get round this?, after connecting to itune to down load and update my 3gs iphone it is now telling me "no sim card" How can I get round this?

After connecting my 3gs phone to itune last night to download items and to get new updates my phone will not work, it says to add a sims card to phone but the sims is already in it.  How can I get my phone to work?

Sounds like your iPhone was previously hacked/modified/jailbroken
and the update has relocked it to the original wireless carrier. If that
is the case, only the wireless carrier to which the iPhone is now locked
    can unlock it.
Does the app Cydia appear on your iPhone?
What does it say when you look at Settings=>General=>Carrier?
What wireless provider do you normally use?

  • When you restore a iPhone 4 CDMA sprint with out the SIM card how do you acvited it with out a contract ?????????

    ?????

    Hello there khraye,
This message appears when the phone is locked to a specific carrier. You will need to contact the carrier the phone is locked to:
How to unlock your iPhone for use with another carrier
    Unlock your iPhone
First, your carrier will need to process your unlock request. Then you'll back up, erase, and restore your iPhone to unlock it.
    Start the process:
See if your carrier offers unlocking. Only your carrier can unlock your iPhone.
Contact your carrier and request an unlock. You might need to meet requirements to qualify for unlocking. After you submit the request to your carrier, it might take a few days to complete. Contact your carrier for the status of your unlock request.
After your carrier confirms that your iPhone unlock has been processed, go to the next section.
If you have a SIM card from a carrier other than your current carrier, follow these steps:
Remove your SIM card and insert the new SIM card.
    Complete the setup process.
If you don't have another SIM card you can use, follow these steps to complete the process:
    Back up your iPhone.
When you have a backup, erase your iPhone.
Restore your iPhone from the backup you just made.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the best,
    Sterling

  • I have a friend coming from Hong Kong to the US.  Can she use an ATT pre-paid on her iphone?

If her iPhone is officially unlocked by her carrier, I don't see why not.

  • Using a Google Nexus phone with BT Mobile sim card

For my birthday, my son has given me a 'google nexus' phone. Whilst I was in Sweden, visiting him, we put my BT sim card in and he 'set it up' to work via his hub (obviously I was conscious of the cost if I had been using anything else) Now I am 'back home' how can I fix it so that I receive the 'internet etc' as I have an unlimited bundle, well as far as unlimited means!
Everything is fine when it is 'connected' to my home hub but when I venture outside I need to connect up to a 'hot zone' or 'fon' which is a bit limiting. How can I get onto the internet when ever I want.
I'm afraid I'm more of a 'pug in and play' person so struggle with all of the technical terms.
In a nutshell ... can I get on to the internet to use all the apps etc on the 'Nexus Google phone' with my BT Anywhere package and sim?
    Thanks in anticipation
    Ritchie

  • Can anyone tell me what happens to an iphone when you actually fill it up to full ?

A friend of mine is blind and therefore never sees the 'nearly full' message on her iphone (iphone 4S, latest iOS, I think 7.1.1) as it fills up.
We see lots of odd behaviours from her phone and I'm trying to work out if its caused by the phone being full ?
For example, I'd expect the iphone to STOP:
    - Recieving iMessages
    - Apps wouldn't be able to store data (eg Skype, Whatsapp might not work)
But, would it lead to potential corruption?  For example I see these happening:
    - Some imessages get through from some friends, but not from me. It looks like a block is in play, but I'm able to call my friend.
    - Calls coming in are one-way audio (I wouldn't expect a full iphone to cause this)
    - Skype isn't updating, it doesn't seem to recieve or send messages/videos.
What other things would happen ?

    Thanks Rudegar,
Yes I'd expect that. But I'm concerned with what I keep seeing happen on my friends phone.  Apps seem to corrupt and stop running.  SMS's apparently make it to the device (according to the operator), but they're not displayed.  Replies to me seem to come from her email_imessage address rather than her phone_imessage address and when I reply it doesn't deliver (meaning that neither SMS nor imessage appear to work), but only with me, it works with others.
If as I suspect, the SMS database is corrupted, then I'm also wondering if the backups of the iphone in iCloud and PC are also corrupted (or does the backup process filter out likely corruption).
I would have thought that iOS would protect applications from this somehow, but I can't see how - a full iPhone is a full iPhone right.. no way to stop data corruption.

  • Can anyone explain why Apple refuses to make iPhone's microSD compatible?

The extra storage would be wonderful, no?  I have and love my iPad 2, but I use an Android phone.  This is because I use it as my music player, and I can expand it's storage with a 32 gig microSD card.  The card is full of my mp3's, and the phone storage handles apps.
