Hello I got update 23 and when it finished and restarts it cks all my add on's and then its ready to finish updating. but this update the cking for good add ons keeps scanning each time i turn on firefox. so the 1st part of the 2 part scans ok but when it scans the 2ed part to ck add ons it does not finish and just goes away so then every time i turn on friefox it keeps doing this instead of laoding my home page firefox keeps opening up and then the firefox home page opens when i have my home page set to open up my yahoo acct. how do i get 23 update to stop scanning my 10 add ons and will then finish installing so my windows 8 laptop will get past this problem?? I hope U can tell me what to do and all my add ons are ok and my extensions are all good too!! thanks for helping me??

It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.
Delete the extensions.* files (e.g. extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.

If you see disabled or not compatible extensions in "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the Tools button at the left end side of the Search Bar ("Find Updates" button in older Firefox versions) to check if there is a compatibility update available.
If this hasn't helped then also delete the addons.sqlite file.
You can also check for problems with preferences.<br />
Rename or delete the prefs.js file and possible numbered prefs-##.js files and a possible user.js file to reset all prefs to the default value.

Are they coming from one forum (e.g. this one, 'iTunes Store'), or from just one thread ? If one community then what shows at the top right of the screen under the Notifications box for the forum - if it says 'stop email notifications' then click on it.

Thunderbird adds " and characters to my email addresses from my address book, and then can't send them because they are unrecogniseable, how do I stop it?

If I click a contact in the contact payne of a write window, it comes up in the To: place as <" joeblogs"@talktalk.com> for example. Even though in the address book it is [email protected] When I try to send the email, it comes back as an unrecogniseable address and is not sent. If I remove the <""> characters by hand ,it works. Thank you Matt, I think the problem is solved. I must have been in the habit of putting a space before the email address, one I removed them the "" were removed, The <> still surrounds the email address on the outgoing mail but that is to differentiate the address from the friends name. Thanks.

Open Accounts preferences, click on the Login Items tab. If you see the Terminal listed then select it and click on the Delete [-] button.

If a person is using your email address, you should change your email password and make sure there aren't any forwards to some strange email address.
An example if you were using gmail, under account settings, a forward can be set up to send messages to another email address.
If your email address is say, you own domain, such as somename@somename dot com, make sure the forwards are forwards you set up.
If your email account was hacked and the bad guy has access, you need to cut him off, first by changing the password and second cut off any message forwarding to the bad guy if he set it up. Just changing the password would keep a bad guy out, but if the bad guy set up a forward, he will still get your email.
A confirmation from Apple would have come to your email address in order to confirm that Apple ID. If you are getting the other person's purchase notifications, you would have gotten a confirmation of that account from Apple.

I enter misc. items in each metadata file, ie. document title, author, description, keywords, copyright notice, etc. Each image has it's own metadata file, with unique keywords, which are unique to that image. The keywords then show up on the right side of PSE organizer under 'imported keyword tags'. Then I can select a keyword, unique to that image and wa...la... that image only appears in organizer. I have been doing this for years (like probably 10). But this is the first time I have experienced the duplication issue.
Not adding any auto-adjustments in Organizer as far as I know.
The names are not duplicated in organizer, but appear as ie. scnr0122.jpg and scnr0122-1.jpg. But the '-1' is not found on my server. Apparently they are being added from another source. Is it possible they are being pulled from a cloud server, ie. creative cloud or revel?? I do have the same files on those cloud servers, but am not intentionally duplicating the import.

Select the wi-fi tab in the menu bar then select "Open Network Preferences..." Select the "Advanced" button, then select the network that it is interfering with your MBP, then hit the - button and it will "forget" that network. Hope that fixes your problem, good luck.

The iMessages are "pushed" to the devices which means there can be small delays between the server recognising the device went Off Line and coming back.

I was infected by a virus (i can't remember the virus name). Antivirus removed it, but i think it changed some config file on FF, 'cause every time i try to restart it , i find it configured to use proxy 127.0.0.1:64727. I change every time the config, i also tried to change the config on the about:config and set network.proxy.type 5 , no port and no network proxy (so it's all on default) . I changed the config on the gui, i removed the config from windows registry ( IE and chrome start normally, with no proxy), but every time i restart FF i find the proxy config there. How can i fix it ?

I used to have AVG free antivirus software on my computer. I uninstalled it, but every time I open Firefox and do a search, it comes up with AVG Secure Search results. I have tried the about:config stuff from the forums, but it is to no avail.

Had AVG free version. After Firefox updated to the newest version, AVG Secure Search results are the default. I have researched the issue for the past 3 days and have tried every option available on forums, etc. Nothing seems to work. This is very annoying and I'm about ready to switch to google chrome.

I ended up finding a solution.....went to Firefox tab on top left of browser screen. Went to help, restart with add-ons disabled. This takes you to the Firefox Safe Mode text box. Select "Reset all user preferences to Firefox defaults. This seems to have worked, as there is no longer an AVG Secure Search directed screen. Also, I installed Avast. Have had it on my tower PC and another laptop for 2 years with no issue. Screw AVG!!!

Hmmmm....But even when I do that, the two playlists go into the general music file and mix together. So I don't understand the point of a playlist if it all just gets thrown into the general mix.
