first, head into your Add/Remove programs and uninstall your QuickTime. if it goes, good. if it doesn't, we'll just attend to it when we attend to itunes.
next, download and install the revo uninstaller http://http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html. use it to clear any existing itunes and/or QuickTime installation configuration information from the PC.
next download itunes. it worked for me hope this is helpful!!
oonce you get into the revo uninstallergo thru to delete itunes hit uninstall on the itunes icon then you will go thru to it will tell u the same nmessage about the feature and network hit cancell then go thru and hit scan (make sure bthe advance scan button is pushed) this will take awhile but go thru the list and hit everything associated with itunes. hit delete then install itunes again. it worked for me hope it works for you!

  • "the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable", SQL Server 2008

when I try to install SQL Server enterprise 2008, during the installation processing, an error information occurs, it said that 'the feature you are trying to use is on a network
resource that is unavailable', it is missing this file "sql_engine_core_shared.msi".
Even I locate an available file with the same version for the installation, it still alert this error information. But actually  the file exists in the directory that belong to the whole installation directory.
Because of this problem, I can`t complete the whole SQL Server installation. My computer OS is windows 7 Enterprise SP1, 32-bit, with .Net Framework 4.0. And I has installed Visual Stdio 2008, could this program impact the installation of SQL Server 2008?
    Any good ideas, Thanks.

    Hi,
SQL Server 2008 Enterprise dose not support Windows
    7. You can try SQL Server Standard, or SQL
Server Developer, or SQL Server Express. Please

I get this message either when I download a new iTunes or try to uninstall it. I am using Windows 7 64.
    Thanks

I get a message that says "the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.
Which particular .msi file (or files) does the message (or messages) go on to say cannot be found? (Several different .msi files might be mentioned in this context: itunes.msi, bonjour.msi, AppleSoftwareUpdate.msi, etc.)

    I get message like below on each stage of the update, Quicktime, Safari & iTunes;
It's so annoying as until I update my iTunes account my phone won't sync.

Many thanks for the screenshot. (The key to these is knowing which particular .msi file is being mentioned by the message.)

  • "the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable..." HELP PLEASE!!!!

Hello. I have a DELL Laptop with Windows 7 (64-bit). I've always installed/downloaded the newest up-to-date iTunes. Now all of the sudden, i can't install the new iTunes 10.5 (i've had this problem since the previous version of iTunes-before the 10.5) It would start the downloading process but then all of the sudden (towards the end) i get an error message saying "the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable." i follow the steps the error message provides me but nothing is working! I can't uninstall (to reinstall it) either! I could really use a solution for this pleaseeee!!! It's getting on my nerves!!! i really want to keep my iPhone 4 and my music with iTunes. So can anyone please hellpppp!!!!

Hello. Actually I FINALLY found a SOLUTION that works. It worked for me, I hope it works for you. Go to this website: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall  click RUN NOW and follow the instructions. This "fix it" will uninstall iTunes completely! (without having to remove any other apple-related programs). Make sure when you click on iTunes you choose to UNINSTALL it. Just let the "fix it" do the rest and whatever windows pop up just ignore them. Let the process complete until the "feedback" window from the "fix it" program comes up. Then you should see the desktop shortcuts are removed, if not: try double clicking on it as if you were to open the iTunes program and a message will come up saying "this program has been changed/removed..." then click the option to erase or delete. Then go to apple.com, download iTunes 10.5 (compatible for 64-bit windows) and it should work. IT WORKED FOR ME!! I hope it works for you. Let me know :)

  • I can't install on uninstall iTunes on my laptop; running Windows XP.  I've tried all the steps in Apple Support as well as Windows support.  Can anyone help?  I fet the error "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable

I can't install or uninstall iTunes on my laptop.  I've followed all the steps on Apple Support as well as Microsoft support.  I get the error "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.  Pick an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'iTunes.msi".  This has been going on for a couple of weeks now and I'm very frustrated.  From what I can see, I'm not the only one with this problem, but I have yet to see anyone post a solution that works.  Microsoft wants to charge me $99 to troubleshoot it for me and Apple will charge $20.  I think both are ridiculous as this is obviously not "operator error".

Before trying the update again, use Microsoft's Fix it solution at http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall. Use it to uninstall iTunes and Quicktime. It bypasses this not uncommon problem. When the solution finishes, the selected program will be uninstalled. It can take several minutes and I have seen as much as half an hour.
After iTunes & Quicktime are uninstalled, try the update again.

Hi, I am trying to get help with an update install of iTunes. When I opened iTunes the other day, it told me there was an update to version 10.6.1. When I tried to install this version I received the following message " The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. I tried to uninstall iTunes, and it would not uninstall. It gave me the following message " The path C:\documents and settings\network service\local settings\application data\apple\apple software update\iTunes.msi cannot be found. I tried running Windows fixit, but this did not solve the problem. Can anyone tell me how to finish uninstalling the old iTunes file, so I can reinstall the newest version? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
    Regards, Paul

  • I get the following message when installing 11.0.5 "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable" for windows install

I get the following message when installing 11.0.5 "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable" for windows install

I just found a way to get Fixit to Run.  Go to http://support.microsoft.com/fixit/ and then pick "Install or upgrade software or hardware" and run Fixit from the "Run" button on the webpage.  I just picked run, instead of save, and ran it directly from the web page for each of the apple software.  If the window doesn't come up full size, hit "Tab" twice and then "Return".  You'll be able to see the prompts from there.  Have it attempt to uninstall iTunes on its own.  Repeat the process for any of the other Apple products, including Bonjour and iCloud.  Then, go to the iTunes website and install from there.  I had a downloaded copy and installed from there, but it came up with an error about missing the apple help, or something like that.  It allowed me to uninstall, and I reinstalled direclty from the website, and it all works now.

  • After trying to run the iTunes automatic update, I got this "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable." Click OK to try again,or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'itunes.msi"

Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'iTunes.msi" in the box below.. I ran a search for the file, and entered that into the box, to no avail. Then I launched iTunes and clicked on 'check for updates', and was told I had the latest version 11.0.1 I think it is. So, any clue on what to do? Thanks for any and all help.

This kind of problem can often be fixed with the  microsoft Installer cleanup utility.
Unfortunately the Microsoft Installer Cleanup utility has been withdrawn by Microsoft because of compatibility issues with Microsoft Office so you will need to find a copy elsewhere – the installer is msicuu2.exe. You need version 3.
    Google  msicuu2.exe download
mydigitallife in the above search has a copy of version 3
Check for malware before installing it.
After installing, To run the program  – All Programs>>Windows Install
If you get  permission denied error, Try Run as Administrator – an option if you right click on the program.
When you run the cleanup utility, look for any instance that you find of iTunes and remove it.
It is possible that you will have to remove other apple programs if removing iTunes doesn't allow you to install iTunes. Post back with any furtyher error messages if there is a problem.
