I have a canadian itunes account, and i used to be able to download apps, now its telling me that i need to have a US account. What has changed? and how do i change it back?

I tried to create a US account, but i need a credit card with an american address and i dont have one. This has only been happening in the last week or so. I am still clicking the app store button on my ipad. Help please.

Is the iTunes app on your computer opening in the Canadian iTunes Store? Go to the bottom of the iTunes Store page and check the circular flag icon in the right corner. If it is not the Canadian flag click it and change the country. Then log into your Canadian iTunes account and sync your iPad.
Hopefully it is now using the Canadian iTunes Store.

Make sure Readr is closed. Go to the Applications form, look for the Adobe Reader icon, double click on it, and follow the lead. Restart Reader when finished.

I'm trying to use my iphone 3g as an ipod now that I've upgraded to an iphone 4. But it is telling me that I need to have a sim card in my iphone 3g to use it. I don't want to use it as a phone at all so I wouldn't think that I need a sim card.

Actually, I wanted to let my son use my old iphone 3g as an ipod now that I upgraded to the iphone 4.
But it has continued to shut down and say that needed to restore it.
The last time I did it, it's now saying that I need to have a SIM card in order for it to work.
Now, I'm not wanting him to use it as a phone or for texting, so I just assumed this would work. But it's been very challenging.
Any thoughts on what I need to do so he can use it as an ipod?

iOS 4.2.1 is the latest version available for the iPhone 3G, if apps require iOS higher than that then unfortunately you will not be able to install it.

Go into Settings>Messages>Send and Receive and make sure that your phone number is checked and iMessage reads as activated. Remove the checkmark from the email address and make sure that only the phone number if checked. It should appear grayed out, but should still have a checkmark. If the phone number does not have a checkmark, then turn off iMessage, wait a few moments and then turn iMessage back on and make sure that it activates.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

It is telling you to restore by connecting to iTunes. Did you follow the steps exactly?
Unplug all cables, then connect micro usb. Make sure to connect directly to the computer and not a leyboard port or USB hub.

I was told to create a password for my itunes backup, which i did. Now its telling me my passwords is incorrect. I dont know what to do because i am locked out of my phone and don't remember its password.

The backup encryption passcode has nothing to do with locking a user out of their backup.
If the encryption passcode has been forgotten, nothing can be done. There is no reset for the encryption passcode.
Delete the backup and create a new one.
