I have a colour space/ calibration issue iPad 2

Dear apple community
I really hope someone can help me fix this or at least provide a temporary fix.
I  do a lot of graphic art on all my apple devices; MacBook, iPad 2, iPhone 5 etc.
So lately I was using Sketchbook Ink and was doing a portrait of a woman wearing a jacket.
The jacket's colour on the ipad was BLUE
But when exported to my computer or uploaded to facebook, all the blue colours had turned purple.
And some of the other colours also seemed very dull when compared to viewing on the ipad screen
Has anybody else out there experienced the same issues?
If you could offer any advice or fix, I'd very much appreciate it.
Thank you

  • PDF/X-4 Device Colour Space inconsistency issue or not

    Hi all,
If a deviceRGB image is lying completely outside of trim and bleed, and the PDF/X output intent is set to CMYK, should a preflight flag this as an error according to ISO1590-7:2010 or not? I have tools that currently do this. If I read chapter 6.4.3.2 of ISO 15930-7:2010, I'm not really sure that is what these preflight app's should do:
Device colour spaces may be used for print elements only if:
⎯ they match the space specified in the PDF/X output intent; or
⎯ the PDF/X output intent specifies a CMYK print characterization, and the device colour space is DeviceGray.
All input to help me solve this puzzle is more than welcome.

Looks like I was confusing the Ghent Workgroup specs (and their use of TrimBox to define an area for print elements) with the PDF/X-4 standard which clearly (6.1.3) says that anything drawn on the page is a print element.
    Sorry for the confusion.

  • How is it possible to cancel (not suspend) a video download from iTunes Store (iPad under iOs 6)? (I do not have sufficient storage space on my iPad)

    Hi,
I am facing the following difficulty with my iPad (model MD369NF/A) under iOs 6.1.3.
I have bought 2 videos on iTunes Store, but I do not succeed in downloading them: an error message mentions that iPas does not have enough storage capacity.
As a matter of face, when I look at the way the storage is used, I find “Others” for around 10 Go (is there some king of reserved space for the downloading of videos from iTunes Store?), and only a very small number of Mo available.
I would simply like to cancel the downloading of the 2 videos, and hope that it would free the "Others" storage space (in the hypothesis that "Others" is space reserved for videos once downloaded), but I do not manage to do it. I can suspend the downloading, but I do not see how to cancel it.
Would you have a solution to propose ?
Thanks in advance for your help,
    Nicolas

    Hey Nicolas36,
Thanks for the question, and welcome to Apple Support Communities.
The following article outlines issues with free space, capacity, and a large amount of "other" space. You'll want to connect your iPad to your computer with iTunes to follow the steps:
iOS: 'Not enough free space' alert when trying to sync
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1503
One symptom of this issue will be displayed in iTunes where the Capacity indicator for the iOS device will report a large amount of "Other" disk usage for the device. To resolve this issue:
    - Turn off the music or photo sync option in iTunes for the device.
    - Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
    - Turn the music and photo sync options for the device on again.
    - Click Apply again to try to sync the device to iTunes.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • After updating my iPad 3, I have almost no space left, yet I deleted all my photos, videos, and emails. What else needs to be deleted?

My iPad 3 is for school, so I take a ton of notes on notability. I just updated it recently, and I have almost no space. My iPad has a 16 GB capacity, and my usage says I have used up 13.3 GB. I deleted all my photos, all my videos, most of my music, almost all of my notes, and 75% of all my apps. But everyday it seems like there is more space being used up. I don't get it. It's making my iPad shut down randomly and is not letting me take any photos, even though I have no photos!! It is very annoying! Help!

  • Colour space incorrectly reported

When exploring the metadata panels, I noticed all my photos were marked as Adobe RGB. This is incorrect as the camera was set to sRGB, which Photoshop Elements reports too.
This happens with Canon 20D RAW and JPEG files.
    Anyone else notice this?

If this is happening with JPEGS then it's an issue,
but RAW files do NOT have ICC profiles embedded - RAW
files don't even have a colour space until they are
    converted, let alone ICC profiles.
That is not how the 20D seems to operate. There is a menu option for colour space that allows me to set it to sRGB or Adobe RGB. This setting is reflected in the file names. sRGB photos are prefixed with IMG_, Adobe RGB are prefixed with MG .
    Also the manual reads
"For normal images sRGB is recommended. In the Basic Zone modes, sRGB will be set automatically."
So it seems that Canon are nudging me towards using sRGB anyway. (I generally don't use the basic zone modes anyway, rather the aperture and shutter speed priority modes instead).
All my RAW files are IMG_ files. Not only that, but Canon's utilities report what colour space is associated with the RAW.
You might also want to rethink your monitor
calibration - sRGB and Adobe98 are profiles strictly
for images, not for screens - assigning one of them
to the screen will mess up the displayed colours.
Why then is there a display profile for sRGB and Adobe RGB in the System preferences? I don't understand what you mean here, sorry.
In general, Adobe98 is a larger space than sRGB,
which means that it can contain pretty well all the
colours available in sRGB, but can ALSO contain more
subtle colours which can't exist in sRGB. To see this
easily, open up ColorSync Utility from the Utilities
folder, click on Profiles and then swap between
Adobe98 and sRGB - it will show a graphical
    representation of the two spaces.

I don't use a hardware calibrator (yet - budget constrains). I have just used the Disply prefs to assign the sRGB profile. I tried the Adobe RGB one and like I said it looks dull and subdued for everything else.
I notice in the following thread :
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=472188
    you said
2a. The vast majority of web browsers (and as far as I know ALL Windows browsers) are not colour profile/ICC aware, and will assume if anything that all images are sRGB.
2b. In general, anything for screen or web use should be in sRGB.
The vast majority of my stuff I will put on a website for friends/family to view, so I have everything set to sRGB along the way so I can get (I hope) a fair idea how it is going to look. I do print things out occassionally though - I send them to a photo lab, I don't bother with a home photo printer. For the couple of photos I sent off, I didn't have a problem. They were JPEGs saved (pre Aperture) off the RAWs taken with the camera set to sRGB.
Since the images are in an sRGB profile, doesn't it make sense to have the monitor set to use that same profile?
I am happy to admit that I am an utter novice with the digital side of photography, and the different colour profiles and what not have me confused.
    Any explanations are greatly appreciated

  • Colour space issues

    Hi,
I'm trying to figure out what's going on with colour spaces once I export a video. I've made a video from srgb jpegs and everything looks fine in Premiere Elements, but as soon as I export it as a video (have trived several formats) the colours are dulled and the contrast reduced (a common colour space issue).
Does anyone know why this happens and if so how to avoid it?
Specifically in this case I'm exporting photos from Photoshop Lightroom to srgb jpegs which I then import to Premiere Elements 7. The original pictures as well as the jpegs look fine. The jpegs and the movie also looks fine inside Premiere, but as soon as I export it to an avi or quicktime file I get something like a 15% decrease of both contrast and saturation.

One problem exporting to Quicktime from Premiere Elements has been discussed in the past, and it was found that PE does not correctly write atom data to the MOV header, so that when you play back the MOV file, it plays back in Apples color space on a PC, giving it a washed out look. The only computer where they will look correct is on an Apple computer. I've exported to Quicktime in other applications, and the results come out correctly when played on a PC.
And then, media players can make the video look too dark or too light, depending on which video renderer is used. In some video applications you have an option to select from 4 different types of video rendering for previewing playback. Some make the video look perfect while others make the video have less contrast. Then you may think that your video or images don't look right, and you start making color corrections.
On my computer Premiere Elements doesn't use the overlay mode, which is the mode that most closely resembles playback on my TV when the DVD player has black levels turned off. When editing in Premiere Elements, highlights look blown out. At one time I would compensate by changing the contrast and brightness. But after burning a DVD and playing it back on TV through the DVD player or in Windows Media Player, the video was too dark.
I've learned not to mess with the color too much in Premiere Elements. Not everyone will be able to play back your video and see it the way you intended.

I know many have this issue but i can't find a solution to the problem. i get message saying insuffisiant disk space in the volume iPhoto library and i have plenty of space available. i have the new macbook pro with retina display. i have never seen this message before and i have 2 other macbooks and have had many other also. i am assuming this is a problem with the new macbook retina. does anyone know the exact fix to this issue? i have seen many sugestions to try to fix this issue but none have solved the issue for anyone that i can find in the Apple Support Community. thank for looking into this in advance.
    ******A true apple fan********

Actually your suggestions are the ones that i have tried. i have seen that you have tried to help others with this issue and the only one that i could find that said they found the problem said that it was an ilife update issue and it fixed it and i have no available updates. i know it has to do with something in photo stream because it happens when i create a new library and it is loading the photos but i get the message before i reach the maximum 1000 photos. so i've tried updating, new library(first backing up photos and then deleting them from iPhoto), reinstalling OSX many times, running disc utilities. I called Apple the first day i had this issue and i was the first person to call them for support with the retina display and i actually had it escalated to a senior advisor and we thought we fixed the problem but we did not. i am pretty fluent in dealing with troubleshooting these type of issues and this is the first time i'm reaching out to the community. i figured now that the retina has been out some time now that there would be an obvious answer to this issue. thanks for the quick reply.

  • I have an apple id for my ipod touch at home. My company is planning to issuing Ipads. Should I use the same apple id on the ipad for those apps I purchase and would like to purchase and use on my work ipad?

I have an apple id for my ipod touch at home. My company is planning to issuing Ipads. Should I use the same apple id on the ipad for those apps I purchase and would like to use on my work ipad?

Yes, otherwise you will have to pay for those apps again. If an app is purchased by one Apple ID, he/she will be able to redownload it again for no cost (note: this does apply to songs, but NOT to movies).

  • I have too many apps on my ipad can I click remove and then reinstall when I have space. I need to experiment with free apps to see what I like before buying?

Over the last year I have 'purchased' many free art and photography apps looking for the perfect mix.
Every now and then I check my purchases and the ones I've had to remove are still in my list of purchases with a little cloud and a downward pointing arrow asking to be installed which is wonderful for me.
However, I also downloaded lots of free European maps and need to remove them to make room for my art trials. I don't want to lose them either.
Am I using this resource wisely or is there a better way. I have the 16GB iPad and lots of space is being taken up with art saved in photos pending refining or just photos to inspire.
PS That's my first question! The next one is about photos and albums but that better wait. Advice on the above is more pressing as is the space on my iPad
    Hope you can advise me

Yes you can.  Any purchases (including free apps) made from the iTunes or Apps Store are kept your history and you can download (install) again as many time you want.  Once you remove any apps, you will then find it to have the cloud logo for installing again.
The only thing you must worried are any saved content within the app you will be deleting.  As you can download the app again, it's local content (saved files) will be lost unless backed up someway.

  • Trying to sync ipad and it is telling me i have 10.6 gb of  video. when looking on the left column under my ipad I see it is coming from previous rentals that are no longer available on my ipad. how can I delete this to free up the space on my ipad?

    Hi,
When trying to sync my ipad i see that I have 10.6 gb of video on my device. When i looked at my itunes under rentals i see that is where all the video space is coming from. These videos are no longer available to watch and I didn't know  how i can delete them to free up the space on my ipad??

Did you try to set it up as new device, as explained in this article?

If this does not work, use iTunes to set it back to factory settings, which would also install the latest software:

    Not as such.
Give the AppleTV units unique names and also enable Airplay password in settings with unique passwords for each teacher.

I have been having a issue with getting the colors on my monitor to match the colors fro my print lab. I now have the monitor calibrated to match the prints but when I open elements it doesn't use the same colors. If i have it use the calibrated profile by changing the color management settings, the color picker no longer shows true white or black. How do I get elements 12 to honor the new calibrated settings?

Ok so I've done what you said and this is what it's come back ....
I don't know that these are the errors , but they're the things which don't look right ...
    Throughout the shut down there is a recurring line ;
    It says ;
    Com.apple.launchd 1 0x100600e70.anonymous.unmount 301 PID still valid
    Then there are 2 more which I think are related ;
Com.apple.securityd 29 PID job has I overstayed its welcome , forcing removal.
Then the same with fseventd 48 and diskarbitrationd 13
Oh and on Launchd1 : System : stray anonymous job at shut down : PID 301 PPID13 PGID 13 unmount...
Then the last process says "about to call: reboot (RB_AUTOBOOT).
    Continuing...
    And stops ...
Hope this means something to you ... Thanks again for your help so far :-)

  • Creating more space on my iPad - storage issues.

my iPad is a 16 GB device and shows I have 750 MB left but I have only used 12.5 GB. Why? I keep deleting things and it barely creates more space.

    Hello Davisesq
Check to see what is taking up so much space on your iPad by going to Settings > General > Usage or plug it into to your computer and look on iTunes to see that capacity.

If you are trying to download an app and get an error about not enough memory, it's talking about memory on your iPad, not in iCloud.  I don't know what you mean by purchasing more storage space for your iPad, you can't add more memory to a device.  You may have bought more memory in iCloud, but that's not going to fix your current problem.  You need to delete songs or video, or some other large files from your iPad to make room for a new download.
