Did you try unplugging the power cord for a few seconds, then plugging it back in? That usually fixes similar problems for me.

I just got a new iMac. was following the onscreen instructions to do migration assistance and I guess it connected to my old iMac via wi fi. It never instructed me to connect via firewire. Now it seems to have stopped. what can I do that won't completely mess it up? how Long will it take to do over wi fi?
Your new iMac does not have a Firewire port so you ned this adapter:

Normally activation should only be a matter of minutes, but if your iTunes library (where you're trying to activate the phone) is in a place where you have no cell service, it will not activate until you take it to a place where you do have service.
So if it is sitting idle and not activating that could be a reason (happened to me). If you're a Verizon customer you may have to dial *228, then press 1 to finish the activation. -

How long will what take? You should leave the phone in rice for at least 4-5 days. At that point, plug the phone in and let it charge for about 15 minutes and see if it turns on. Accept the fact your phone will probably never work properly again.

IPhone 4 water damage - Replacement (how long will it take?)
If i just completely broke my iphone 4 (won't even turn on) due to water damage I understand that I can get a $199 refurbished replacement.
I was just wondering if anyone knew how long it would take to get the replacement phone. For example, if I went into the store gave them my old phone, would I be leaving with the replacement phone that day or would they have to send it to me in the mail?

I have had several issues so far with my new aperture program, and this is the fifth time i have tired to collect all of my images (or nearly all) onto a single drive and be able to file them from my mac notebook...obviously one huge problem is that every timie the dog walks buy he knocks the cord out and i basiclaly have to start over again...
but i have taped the cords in an managed to fly across country while keeping the whole import running---up near 24 hours constant now...
anyway, i ahve a bunch of questions but my main one is, i think from reaeding up here that it could take a fulll week to finish this transfer (even though i beleieve i made it very clear that i only want to index the fiels from their current location and not to move any of them around at all....
the only rush really is that i have my daughter's graduation pictuers and everyone wants to see htem but i don't really want to cancel this transfer after i have already spent 24 hours!!!

It really can take very long to import and process so many images - I would not dare to make a prediction.
Can you open the Activity Viewer?
From Aperture's main menu bar: Window > Show Activity.
This window will tell you the filename of the image that is currently being processed.
if you are seeing, that the import is still far from being finished, you might to pause certain tasks directly from this panel, like the generation of previews or scanning for faces. I'd let the import run, if you see that it is making progress.
Have you enabled very time-consuming options, like the generation of high resolution previes or scanning for faces and places? if yes, and the import is not making any progress at all, I'd disable thes options in the Aperture preferences for the initial import. You can add these later for the projects where you want to use these features.

They won't replace the lens. If they determine it is a manufacturing defect, you'll get a replacement phone.

I just unwrapped my new iMac just being delivered by UPS and after removing all the wrapping I noticed deep scratches on the aluminium front and a big dent on the metal frame surrounding the screen. Obvioulsy it fell in the Apple assembly process or a heavy thing fell on it. I am so crossed as it took already 7 days to arrive and I now need to spend time trying to get it replaced one way or another, I believe this will take weeks before I get a replacement iMac and I am not sure in which state this new one will arrive. Very frustrating experience. I am hesitating to cancel the whole thing.
IF you bought it from apple, you can bring it back to apple for a full refund or exchange. You can also call apple support to request for a mail-in box so you can return the item. if on the other hand it is an apple authorize reseller, kindly contact them for exchange/refund. They will give you an option on whether they will give you a label to help you send back the item to them or take it to the store.

I bought a music video on a gift card credit card I got for Xmas. I bought the video a few days ago, and it still hasn't show up on my iTunes. I also bought a song using a different card at the beginning of the week, and that hasn't arrived either. Exactly how long will it take for me to get my items, or since the card was authorized, should I try to repurchase them?
This depends on how your account is set-up. If you are set-up for "1 click" purchasing, then the minute you click "buy", your purchase should download. If you are set up to use your shopping cart or a wish list, you have to go into your shopping cart, select the item you wish to purchase, click buy, then the download starts. If you are using the balance on a gift card, check the upper right corner of the main store window, where your account icon is, should be the balance remaining on the giftcard. If the balance has not changed, then you have never actually purchased the item.
Now, if you're sure you purchased the item, in iTunes, try store>check for purchases to see if you can get the download to re-start. -
When I try opening iPhoto on my iMac (OSX 10.9.2) it says I must first download the update; when I try doing so from the App store, it says there are no updates available. Stuck in a classis Catch-22 - any ideas how I might solve the problem?

As I've mentioned above, I was informed that updating to 5.0.1 would '''require''' me to '''delete''' the current version and then install the new one. And doing so will involve losing all my bookmarks. I guess I should have been more specific and detailed there. By losing, I didn't mean losing them forever. I'm aware that they're secured in some place and deleting and installing the software doesn't harm its existence. What I meant that if I install the new version, I'd have to delete the old one. And after installing the new version, I'd have to transfer them (bookmarks) back from wherever they are. Get it? When it updated from 3.6.9 to 3.6.13, and from 3.6.13 to 3.6.18, I didn't need to follow that process. They were already present on their own.
BTW, I'm having no problems with 3.6.18 but after learning about the existence of version 5.0.1, I'm a bit too eager to lay my hands over it.

Remote desktop failure. Have bought the app, but connection failed. Have bought the disable adds, but still getting them. What do I write:
in the username field, in the port field and in the password fiels and in the domain field and in the field where 3389 is. Have tried my computer username, my Computer password and the name of the network name (domain). Have also tried the network password.Are you referring to Apple Remote Desktop, Apple's software for managing networked Macs? It sounds to me like you're referring to a remote connect app you purchased for use on your iPhone to connect to a Windows system, and if so you should start by contacting the support resources for the app you purchased, and if you can't get help there try asking in the iPhone forum.
