I was updating my iPad air and in the middle of update it suddently cannot reconnect to my computer and it has the iTunes logo with a plug picture on a black screen, PLEASE HELP!!!! I did try steps from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808?viewlocale=en_US - IT DOES'N WORK!
Yes, that is your only option.Yes. You have to restore.
Try the following if you have difficulty restoring.
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

To open “Java Preferences,” you need to install a Java runtime, but you are not connected to the Internet. I have tried links that people have put on other discussions but all i get is a black screen please help!!
Try this link, warning, it's straight to download mode:

I have a problem both phones wont recognize firmware idk what to do with them

Does anyone else find it odd VZW starts every conversation with the standard "this call may be recorded" line, but if you imply you are recording them, they freak out and go silent. It's amazing they never want to stand by what they say. I was overcharged and basically screwed for four months, they then issues me a credit and then CHARGED me for that credit the following month. I explained it in their second grade terms so they could understand and still NO ONE gets it.

First, can you elaborate a bit on what the concern with the credits are? It is really hard to give advice about the scenario without really knowing what is happening. #2: I don't find it odd at all that vzw wants to record their calls but not have customers record them. In fact I can't imagine that any medium-large company (or many small companies either) would be comfortable with their rep's being recorded seeing as they could make mistakes or just decide to not be appropriate. VZW records their calls for 'quality and training purposes.' Meaning that they are doing it in an attempt to improve their customer service internally, and if it means that they can go back and listen to a call to see if a rep made a mistake then that is just gravy. In most cases if a call is listened to and it's found that the rep did lie or make a mistake it will be corrected and handled internall. If, however, a customer records a call there is a pretty good chance that they will blast it all over the world and damage vzw's reputation... this is a problem if vzw would have fixed the issue anyways once they had a chance to listen to the call.
Thats interesting. Sounds like a fairy tale but interesting. -
I just got a new nano and downloaded the most up to date itunes then I plugged it into my computer and it does not turn on at all, no charge image and my computer doesn't even recognize that there is a connection. How do I fix this?
By calling iPod tech support while you are under warranty. You also have 14 days to return it w/no questions asked for a replacement or your $$$ back.

Add a valid payment method to your account. That is required even for free apps and app updates. If yo think the payment method is valid contact iTunes:

Hello. I have an ipod classic generation 4 and I want to add some more music to it however my computer and itunes do not recognise the device when I try to connect it. Is it incompatible with windows 7 or current version of itunes?
It should still be compatible. Have you tried plugging it into a different USB port using a different cable to see if that helps? Perhaps, try it another computer as well to see if it's recognized there.
Otherwise, start by checking to see if it's even recognized in Device Manager. See this article for details.

I have a ipod classic 160GB and it's not showing any music anymore, but there is still showing 7GB of memory being used, and I don't have it backed up on my itunes, since I had to put a new hard drive on my computer. Any suggestion to find out whats on that memory or to get it the music back, there is approximately over 1400 songs on it?
What is the memory being used by, is it Other? If it is, that means the iPod can no longer read the music, so it has put it all in "Other".
The usual fix for this is to allow the iPod to Sync with its iTunes Library. If that doesn't work, the next option is to Restore the iPod using the Restore command in iTunes, on the Device/Summary pane.
Unless you are very (very) lucky, I suspect that you are going to have to Restore your iPod. Restoring will remove everything form the iPod and put back onto it only what it finds in your iTunes Library, which you say is currently empty.
If you have to rebuild your Library after this issue, by adding all the music back again, this is going to be hard to hear, but for the future, you may want to consider always having a backup of your library. The easiset way to back the Library up is;
if the Library is small enough, burn it to a DVD, as digital files, not a "music CD".
If your Library is too large for a DVD, buy yourself an external hard drive and copy the Library onto the drive. Remember to update the backup every so often. -
I have an ipod classic 120 gb. I had it set up so that I manually sync and manage my music. Twice I have had my ipod plugged into my mac and it had erased everything on my ipod. All the music on my itunes was still in my library, but all the other music was lost. I understand that I need to go back to the other libraries I got that music from, but how do I make sure that my ipod doesn't keep syncing and erasing itself? Also, now every five minutes a message will pop up on my itunes saying that it cannot sync because of an unknown error and then it has the number 13014. I have no idea what that is about. Does anyone else go through this? How do I fix it?
Well the iPod is supposed to be synced from YOUR iTunes music library, if you used other means to put music on there then the iPod is going to sync to only what's on your itunes music library when you connect it.
You need to put the files into itunes.
Far as your other issues, sounds like the drive is dying.

I have an ipod classic 120gb. Its not getting recognized by itunes and i am unable to format it even though it says i must if i want it to appear on itunes. It does'nt work on any computer so its not the usb. ive reset it a few times but no luck. Any ideas?
Here is some of the info i got, im not sure however what they represent.
Retracts: 534
Reallocs: 216
Pending Sector: 62
PowerOn: 1253
Smart/Stop: 469
Temp:Current 27c
Temp:Min 5c
Temp:Max 56cIf Windows or Mac can recognise it, then reformat it using a Hardisk Partition tool, if not, it is time to replace the Hardisk.
The High Pending Number, indicates some bad cluster, which Hardisk firmware can't reallocate or remapped. This maybe due to, leaving the iPod in a Hot environment, damaging the Hardisk.
