I have a laptop an hp dv6700, running vista the dvd drive is missing how do i get it back?

Greetings this is my problem?
 I have a beautiful HP Laptop the dv6700 Series, running Vista, on this Computer i have a DVD Player, with my media center, and the drive.
Now the drive is missing, and now I can not burn anymore DVD's, or play any of them either can anyone help me find a solution to this issue please?

Okay, let's check the following:
>> Do you see the DVD drive listed in "Computer" explorer? double click on it to open.
>> Do you see the DVD drive listed in the device manager??
(Click Start and type "device" in the search field, then select Device Manager >> check for CD/DVD drive listing.)
>> Is the DVD drive listed in the BIOS?
(Restart Your PC and start tapping F10 key, once you are in setup screen go to boot options, check for the listed devices)
