i have a mac book with os 10.6.8 and want to upgrade to either 10.7 or 10.8 so i can use i cloud.  I have tried to download 10.8 but it says my system wont allow it.  I cant find a download for 10.7 on the apple web site... what to do from here ? thx

Apple said that customers can still purchase a copy of Snow Leopard or Lion from its online store's telesales agents: 1-800-MY-APPLE (1-800-692-7753) or Customer Service and Sales Support at 1-800-676-2775. For Lion you'll get a redemptions code via e-mail and need to DL from the Mac App Store (requires SL 10.6.6+).

If you call Apple at 1 800 MY APPLE, you can get a set of retail replacement discs of OS X 10.5 Leopard.
Apple is supplying these on white DVDs for less than $20.
You'll need to give them your Mac's serial number.

These were reported to work on any PowerMac G4 or G5.

I have disabled my IPhone while on vacation and do not have my MAC book with me and it will not let me restore it on someone elses computer. If I take it into an Apple store can they do this?

More than likely, they can. So long as you're in the same country you live in.

Please quit and use the latest version of iPhoto."  We have not updated or changed anything on the IMac all we did is transfer photos. Any help would be appreciated.

LarryHN is correct. The only way this message occurs is if the iPhoto Library database is upgraded to a newer version.
You could try holding SHIFT-OPT-COMMAND when launching iPhoto from the dock and checking only "Rebuild the iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup" and hope it restores the previous database prior to the upgrade.
If that doesn't work, you can install iPhoto '11 on your iPhoto '09 computer. If I understood the iPhoto '11 Mac App License agreeement correctly, you can install it on any personal, non-commerical computer you own running 10.5, 10.6 and 10.7.

if your Mac is still in warranty, then you should contact the Argentinian technical support service. If it is out of warranty, then we can try to lend a hand. (We’re just fellow Apple product users here.)

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Take your MacBook Air to an Apple Store or reseller to have your display replaced. If you want, you can buy the display yourself and install it, but as you can see, that's expensive > http://www.ifixit.com/MacBook-Parts/MacBook-Air-13-Inch-Mid-2012-Display-Assembl y/IF188-083?utm_source=ifixit_guide&utm_medium=guide_intro&utm_content=required_ items&utm_term=macbook_air_13%22_mid_2012

Run the application on the PC to see if it will discover your printer and install the printer.

    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mavericks if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s iCloud services; fees and
               terms apply.
Upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion or Mavericks
To upgrade to Mavericks you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8, Lion, or Mountain Lion installed. Purchase and download Mavericks (Free) from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
         OS X Mavericks- System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mavericks
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) —
                 Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
    Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table — RoaringApps.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mavericks, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion at the Online Apple Store. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.

  • I have a Mac OS X v 10.4.11 and trying to upgrade to snow leopard but it says I don't have enough RAM, what do I do?

I have a Mac OS X v 10.4.11 and trying to upgrade to snow leopard but it says I don't have enough RAM, what do I do?

What machine are you running on?
As far as I recall, Snow Leopard's memory requirements were 1GB of RAM. All Intel-based Macs have shipped with at least that much, so I don't understand how you have a machine that doesn't have enough memory.

  • I have an iPhone 4 with iOS 5.1.1. Want to upgrade to 6.1.3

I have an iPhone 4 with iOS 5.1.1. Want to upgrade to 6.1.3 because some apps only work with this version. I only get the option to go directly to 7.0.4 (iTunes) which is a bad idea for an iPhone 4 as everyone knows. I should have the right to choose which version I want to upgrade to, it makes no sense to have iOS 7 on iPhone 4. Please advise.
    Thanks in advance!

Many people who have the iPhone 4 running iOS 7 have no performance problems, and a number have posted in these forums to say so, and they mean the entire iPhone, not just phone calls. So it is by no means predetermined that you would have performance problems should you upgrade.
But regardless, as tonefox said, you have no choice. You either need to stay with iOS 5.1.1, or you'll need to accept the upgrade to iOS 7.0.4. There is no way to upgrade to any intermediate version.
    Regards.

  • I have elements 11 on my mac and want to upgrade to elements 13 but it seems that the elements 13 upgrade is only for windows.  Is there a mac edition to this upgrade?

I have elements 11 on my mac and want to upgrade to elements 13 but it seems that the elements 13 upgrade is only for windows.  Is there a mac edition to this upgrade?

Yes, certainly, but if you're in the US I would just download the trial and use that for now, since there will be plenty of deals on the full version come the start of the holiday shopping season, especially at places like amazon and big box stores. Usually for much less than adobe's upgrade price.

  • I have a 10.6.8 OS and want to upgrade to Mountain Lion but when I try the applications tells me my computer can't support it

I have a 10.6.8 OS and want to upgrade to Mountain Lion but when I try the applications tells me my computer can't support it. What does that mean. I have upgraded to Snow Leopard and was told (by Mac Store) that after that I would be able to update to Mountain Lion.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You need 10.6.8 to upgrade to Mountain Lion, but it doesn't mean that your computer is compatible. Mountain Lion is compatible with Late 2008 Aluminum or Early 2009 MacBooks. If you have an older one, you can't upgrade to Mountain Lion. Read > http://www.apple.com/osx/specs
If you can't upgrade to Mountain Lion, open  > About this Mac, and tell me what processor and memory you have got. If you have a Intel Core 2 Duo or newer processor, you can upgrade to Lion. Call Apple to purchase Lion > http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57 Make a backup of your files before upgrading and check that your apps are compatible > http://www.roaringapps.com

Sorry, downgrading the iOS is not supported by Apple, thus there is no official way to do so. Your phone was re-locked to the carrier it was originally locked to because you hacked it to unlock it. Apple's servers detected such & re-locked your phone. You need to contact the carrier your phone is locked to if you want to get it officially unlocked.
