I now need to install it; It installs fine on my system (Win XP) but I can't get it to activate. I'm trying to use phone activation because the machine I will be using is not net-connected. How can I activate this s/w?

You won't be able to. You will need to acquire a special copy. See the following:

if you use a hdmi to dvi converter then you only get picture and not audio because dvi don't carry audio same with vga

Help? Please.. I got OracleAS 10g Installed but I can't get Discoverer

I installed OracleAS 10g and I got things running but I can't get Discoverer Server to go to the database and get reports.
I get the ORA-12154 could not resolve service name.
I put in my login and password and database connection string when I get the discoverer plus screen but I don't get to go any farther.
Do I need to add to the Tnsnames.ora and listener.ora? I tried copying the tnsnames.ora from the database server to the apps server and that didn't work. I changed everythig back to the way it was with all the orginal install tnsnames.ora

YOu need to be clear about the products you are using, so we can help you. In particular there is no trial of Adobe Reader, it is free and keeps running. Sounds like you are using some versions of Acrobat - which?
YOu must properly uninstall the trial, don't just delete files or you may get a mess impossible to recover.

Upgrading from iPhoto 8 to iPhoto 9 requires a purchase. There are two ways to get to iPhoto 9:
1 - purchase a copy of the iLife 11 disk from a 3rd party retailer like Amazon.com or eBay.com.
2 - if your MBP meets the requirements upgrade you system for free to Mavericks. Then you can purchase the latest iPhoto version, 9.5.1, from the App Store.

If you registered CS4 then you might be able to find the serial number for it in your Adobe account online. If not, you still might be able to get someone in chat to assist you with getting it.

It could be that the Adobe Acrobat trial came pre-installed on your machine.
Best thing to do is to go to add/remove programs, remove Acrobat (and Reader if it exists) then try your install again.
It also might be a good idea to run the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility (I think they have a version for Win 7 anyway) and use it to remove any leftover pieces before trying the install.
