    Problem:  “Installer failed to initialize.  Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem”
    Background:  Windows 8 became corrupt and I had to perform a full Windows Recovery (the “Remove everything and reinstall Windows” type).
    Current Situation:  I am a Senior in College, have Summer finals this week, my Senior project due, I am behind on my job design work, and I am going crazy because I can’t find anything/anyone to help me.
    Set Up:  Lenovo Y410P, Windows 8.1, CS 5.5 Design Standard Student-Teacher Edition (Yes, I have the media and product code/license key, as I purchased a valid copy in my university student store).
    Here’s what I have done over and over again for the last SIX WEEKS!
    1. Attempts to install from the original install DVD result in the following error, “Installer failed to initialize.  Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem”
    2. [I click] Get “Adobe Support Advisor”
    3. [I see mssg] The Adobe Support Advisor has been discontinued.. The tool has been replaced with [unnamed/unlinked] improved installation support mechanisms…
    4. [I Run] “AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool” (see results below)
    Note:  I cannot run Windows Uninstall because, following Windows Restore, Windows doesn’t recognize that CS5.5 has been installed.  I do still see the following folders in Windows explorer, but Adobe Support says "don't attempt to manually remove folders";

    Hi there Mylenium, is there any way you can help me? My cs6 is doing all kinds weird things lately. The liquifying too stopped working completely, when I try to work with the actions, it starts flickering and changing opacity in color by itself. It starts flickering and is completely out of whack! I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and still no luck. I tried getting in touch with adobe and no luck with that neither! Is there anyway you might be able to help?

Help!

    Well when the indsatalltion failed I was given instructions to select Download Only from Tools and then install manually. When I did it, I window popped up with the following items: - AppleApplicationSupport

    I completely understand what you're saying. Since that Repair did not resolve the issue, our best option is to uninstall iTunes and its components and redownload it.     First, we will want to quit iTunes and/or Apple Software Update if those are open at this time.

    This error code is not something that I am finding in my sources, Samia. So there is a chance that it is being caused with the Windows computer itself.   • Photoshop CS6 Trial "Installer Failed To Initialize" on Vista. Please help I have read other posts!

    I've read through countless posts on different sites and still can't find a fix to this. I've been having a hard time trying to figure out what advice actually applies to me.  After extracting all the files and I run the setup I get about 75% through before I get the Installer failed to initialize message. After looking at the PDapp data It seems clear what the problem is, but I have no idea how to fix it. The fatal/error messages are as follows:
    [FATAL] Setup - Adobe Application Manager executable does not exist at the location: C:\Users\Tanner\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE\PDApp\core\PDApp.exe
    [FATAL] Setup - Unable to launch PDApp. File missing
    [ERROR] Setup - Error in deleting folder C:\Users\Tanner\AppData\Local\Adobe. Error Code:145
    Please, any help would be great.

    first thing to do is to re-download ps cs6 in case your dl was corrupted.
    if you have no other cs6 programs installed, run the cleaner before trying to re-install:  http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

  • Installer Failed to Initialize problem

    I recently purchased a new MacBook Pro after years of using PC's. Previously I was using PS7 on my pc and I decided it was probably time to try out a newer version of PS on my new Mac. I am running Lion and I attempted to download and run PSC5 but I get the error "Installer Failed to Initialize". I downloaded the Adobe Advisor and it couldn't find anything wrong. I tried restarting my machine and that didn't help.
    I realize that this might just be user error because I am not very familiar with Macs yet, but does anyone have any suggestions for me?

    For people who go searching in the future to resolve this issue, I was able to resolve it by taking my computer into a Genuis Bar after trying to resolve the issue over the phone with Adobe support (they had no clue what the problem was).
    I had an anti-virus program that I had removed from my computer but wasn't completely gone. This was causing a conflict with Adobe Installer. Despite having restarted the computer, ended all programs running, etc, the program was still running in the background. Be sure to check your running system programs - duh - for hidden programs that the Adobe Advisor doesn't catch. In my cast it was Avast! anti-virus.
    For such a pricey program, I have to say that support is severely lacking.

  • We are installing CC on our machines with CS6. Getting "installation failed". We have an enterprise license.

    We have a site license for 250 seats.  CC should be free until Feb 2015.  We have loaded CC on approximately 30 computers without a problem, however, we are now getting an "installation failed"message every time we try to install it.  Any insight into this would be appreciated.

    i really need help in installation of adobe premiere pro cs3. i followed everything this link told me to do:

    i disabled antivirus, antispyware, windows defender, and start up programs except microsoft products.
    i was only able to install adobe onlocation cs3. i have problems with adobe premiere procs3 and adobe encore cs3. the installation starts with system check. it proceeds all the way to progress. when it's about 80% progress, it stops and i get the error message component installation failed. for both these products the only parts of the software that successfully got installed is the third party components.
    i have a gateway MT6707 using windows vista home premium 32 bit. it has intel pentium Dual Core and a 2 gb memory and 130 gb hard drive. if the laptop does not meet system requirements, i will get an error message telling me that the computer did not meet the minimum requirements. i know this because i tried installing the software on my desktop but in this case, the laptop met the minimum requirements.
    i really do not know what to do. please help!

    I recently added 2 RAID arrays to my system and shuffled the drives around, and so I decided to format the machine and start fresh to avoid any conflicts.
    I began installing software last night and ran into problems with Premiere & Encore but Onlocation installed fine, as you described it. I tried repeated attempts and it failed everytime much to my horror. I unistalled fonts, restarted, ran registry scanners, defragged, and I did most of what you described and nothing worked.
    I have installed CS3 3 times prior to this so I know it works. I was getting frustrated and ready to post here. But I disabled my firewall (Comodo) before the installation and it worked!

    I have XP Pro 32 bit so I am not sure if Vista would affect it, but I doubt it.

Half of them I bought. I also paid for iCloud, and it is not working. I paid money and I am stuck with old applications and no iCloud. Your security *****. Your service ***** too. It took your service 1 month to finally understand why this happened to me, and it took me tens of emails to you and 3 hours of telephone conversation to find out the reason for my problem.     Well, it seems waiting is not my strong suit..! I renamed a javascript file called recovery to sessionstore. This file was in the folder sessionstore-backups I had copied from mozilla 3 days ago, when my tabs were still in place. I replaced the sessionstore in mozilla's default folder with the renamed file and then started mozilla. And the tabs reappeared as they were 3 days ago!
    So there goes the tab problem. But again when I started mozilla the window saying "a script has stopped responding" appeared, this time the script being: chrome//browser/contenttabbrowser.xml2542
    If someone knows how to fix this and make firefox launch normally, please reply! Thank you

    I have a problem syncing iCal on my Macbook air (10.7.5) and my iPhone 4s (5.1.1) over iCloud. The following server error message comes up "The request (CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation) for account “iCloud” failed." Been to Apple Store - no luck instore, or with Super genius over the phone when with genius in store, taking data in real time via ethernet!
    I had to do a full wipe of my system because of time machine back up issues 2 weeks ago, and the error has only occured at some point since then. I only did a drag and drop of my user account folders/files into an External HDD rather than a copy of my user account (advised by the staff in store at Apple to do this) and when reimported, the Mail folders are all present but each message is in a sub-sub-sub folder that is numerically named. I do not have a mirror image of the hard disk prior to the wipe, only a time machine back up from 2 weeks prior to it being done. I am uncertain if this reinstall has caused the issue. 
    I am not happy to upgrade the software in my iPhone until I have the calendars working. I have purchased Mountain Lion, but again am concerned about upgrading until the issues are sorted.
    I have tried the other solutions on here with no luck. HELP please.

    Progress Update.
    I made a back of what existing phtos and Videos I had on my Iplhone.  I used Image capture to do this making an entire back up of photos and videoa that were still intact on the phone.
    Image capture is god for this purpose, as it does exactly what you ask it to do without applying any rules or squishing the files back into iphote (which might also be corupted) 
    Image capture wil do the basic function of retriving the contents of the phone and save them as native files on your hard drive.
    Once I did this I erased my iphone, and re intitialised it restoring an older back up from icloud.
    As the retore was happneing - I did retreive the missing files that cuased the intial beviour as above, and I could play the videos that were missing in the above scenerio.  The wierd ting was however that even though the source files were now back on the device, the thumbnail previews were missing. Where I ahd balck thumb nails for server portions of the resotred content.
    I then went to bed as the restore is a long process.  When I woke up the library had library had cleaned itself up.  Mysteriously the prcess had deleted the files missing the their thumbnails.
    This is very perculiar and bad behavior.
    I am now repeating the process, and will attempt to download the missing content as it is restored and prior to the phone trying to fix itself.
    Here are the lessons learned.
    DO NOT rely on Photo Stream to keep back ups and synchornise videos from you IOS device. IT DOES NOT SUPPORT THIS CAPBILITY
    DO NOT rely on iCloud Back Up alone - always fd an occassional iTunes back up or more reliably still always take a back up of photos and video files using Image Capture to be doubly sure that you a have backd up any content.
    DO THIS NOW - dont wait to loose your phone ofr have your phone repaired by replacement at the apple Store.  (I did both :-(

    You may be required to boot into safe mode to complete the folder deletion process.
