I have a smart cover for my iPad which works brilliantly, but I don't know how to clean it ? I was very naive in choosing the "cream" colored one and now it doesn't look so neat ... Any ideas ?

SMTP name for my email address is incorrect but I don't know how to correct it. Help!!
Two of my email address seem to have been joined. When I attempt to send an email from the problem address I am asked for my password but the ID listed in the SMTP request shows jerrhrt27 when the real address is jerryeg27. No idea of how it was changed or where I can correct it. This is a yahoo email address and I can send emails from there with no problem.
you have now created a second smtp and both have correct
UserName that is the same as the email address they are used by.
Check the saved passwords to see if there is an inccorrect setting saved.
Tools > Options > Security > Passwords tab
* click on 'Saved Passwords'
* There should be two smtp entries. How many do see?
* Is there an smtp:// setting for the Wrong UserName?
* If yes, then select it and click on 'Remove' and then click on 'Close'
Then check the config Editor settings.
* Click on 'Advanced' > 'General' tab
* Click on 'Config Editor' button
* It will tell you to be careful.
* In top search type: jerryhrt27
* What is shown in the list?
* Please post an image of the results.
Close window - top right X.
click on OK to save and close Options. -

I love the Smart Cover. It fits the way I work and I love the instant on/off and the always available screen protection. I wouldn't use my iPad without it.
I got a Cover Buddy for the back, because I wanted the back to be less slippery when I'm using the iPad in the classroom, teaching. I have a Built NY "hoody" slip on case with a hard internal shell that I use when I'm in the field and I can put the iPad with the Smart Cover and the Cover Buddy inside this . But for everyday use, the Smart Cover with the Cover Buddy is a terrific combination. -
How can I change the appe ID that is registred in my Ipad? It was bought for a friend and he put his own ID. I have my ID but I don' t know how I can install it in my Ipad
Tap on the id in Settings > Store and log out of it and then log in with your id. But if there is any content on the iPad from his account then you are probably better off resetting back to factory defaults via Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content And Settings and starting 'as new' with it - content is tied to the id that bought/downloaded it so your account won't be able to download updates to any of his apps, and unless his account is authorised on your computer's iTunes and his content is on there then it will be deleted when you sync to it.

That is determined by what type of disk that it is. It may be a disk that only allows you to install Windows on your Dell computer and would not allow Windows to be installed on a Boot Camp partitition or as a virtual machine in an app such as VirtualBox on your Mac. If that is the case, you would need to purchase a retail Windows install disk. -
My ipad 3 is frozen on the plug into itunes page - it won't turn off or on - just stuck. I have tried to follow advice I have found on these pages but I don't know how to connect the ipad to my mac (the advice is to connect ipad to mac and there is no usb port on an ipad). I just bought the new HDMI cord for the IPad, it works good but a small potion of the TOP and the BOTTOM is cut off. It doesn't seem to do it for movies(although I can't really tell. My monitor is a 23 IN' acer s series. I just installed the drivers for my monitor with no change. I think I have a CD somewhere for my monitor maybe it has some kind of program in there that can help me. I can post a picture if I need to. Thanks

I'm trying to update my IPAD 2 to iOS 7.1.2 but don't have enough memory to do so. In I-Tunes I'm told to change my media sync options to gain more memory, but I don't know how. Can you help?
Turn off the check mark to sync your music and also the check mark for the video. Sync the device. This will remove the items from you iPad but still keep them on your computer. Install IOS 7.1.2. Then turn on the check marks for your music and videos and resync the device.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
