I have an AirPrint printer and am signed up for the wifi 3G service but will not have wifi.  Can an IPad be hooked to a printer with a cable, or can I print somehow without wifi?

I have a new air print-capable printer and am signed up to Verizon wifi+3G service but will not have wifi while traveling.  Is there anyway to print from my iPad in this situation?  Cannot the IPad be hooked up to a printer with a cable?  If not, this seems to me to be a real shortcoming with an iPad!

iPads cannot be connected to a printer using a cable.
You need some form of Wi-Fi network to print. You do not need to have that Wi-Fi network connected to the internet. There are some devices that will create a Wi-Fi network and allow you to print. Google it to find someplace ossicle solutions.
