I have a HP Deskjet D4200 series printer that I used with my iBook G4 and I recently purchased a new MacBook Pro 13.5" and I would like to use this printer with my new lap top. When I use the disc to try to install the printer driver, I get a message that "I can't open the application HP Installer because the Power PC applications are no longer supported. I am not sure what all that means but is there any way to use this printer with my new computer?

Make sure that your display is not mirrored. Mirroring forces you into "lowest common denominator" screen resolutions that can safely be displayed on BOTH screens, which may not be good enough for the projector.
When you turn off Mirroring, you get Extended Desktop, where the two screens are joined along an edge to form a larger Extended Desktop. To use this, drag a window onto the "other" screen. -

I have downloaded some free apps from Itune store. but when i sync those apps in my ipod touch it dosn't apear in my ipod. i can't use that apps. what should i do? help please.
Are the apps compatible with your model iPod and its iOS version? You say you have a iOS 4.2. That implies a 2G iPod. Many, many apps now require iOS 4.3 or later or a 3G or later iPod.
Also do you have Restrictions turned on that would d prevent installing those apps? Settings>General>Restrictions. -

If you still have access to the old Mac, you might try using Migration Assistant to transfer applications to the new Mac.

However, Logic Express 8 and earlier are PowerPC applications which are no longer supported (in 10.7 and 10.8).

I have a Macbook Pro. I just purchased Acrobat Pro DC and keep getting an error message when I try to download, saying I need to contact support. I've eliminated previous versions of the application because they were US-based versions and I'm now living in Australia. I have restarted my PC. Redownloaded the installer from apple. Checked the hash thingy etc...nothing seems to work...I am glad you left this up here: nowhere does the error say what the problem is, other than a "missing .dll file." I have seen several other people cite the same issue in detail, but the only responses seems to be 'snarky' -- that the person didn't give enough detail, and that they aren't mind readers.

I just want to download Firefox 3.6 again
I downloaded Firefox 4 onto my PowerPC G4, 1.67GHz running Mac OSX 10.5.6. When I try to open it I get error message You cannot open the application “Firefox” because it is not supported on this architecture.Use Tony's suggestion. I am running it right now and it is awesome. I love Mozilla but they basically screwed all of those older Macs over. Come on Mozilla. These Macs still work, and there are plenty of people with them out there.

hello everyone! i have a new macbook pro and i want to download aperture. my app store says it is already installed (on my old macbook pro). how do i install aperture from the app store in this instance please?
Are yoy sure that Apeture is not in the Applications folder of the new system? If it is move it to the trash and the App Store will let you download Aperture from it.
You will need to make sure you use the same Apple ID you used to purchase it in the past.

If you have already updated to Pages 5.2 on your Mac, you may be trying to open the file with a previous version of Pages. If this is the case, you have two versions of Pages on your Mac & are trying to open Pages 5 documents with Pages 4. Are you launching Pages from an icon in your Dock? Installing the update does not change the Dock icons & it does not remove the older versions. Go to your Applications folder & launch the new Pages from there then right-click on the Dock icon & select Options > Keep in Dock.
Installing new versions of iWork has never replaced existing versions. This is nothing new. The only thing new is that the '09 apps are moved to an iWork '09 folder if they were purchased from the Mac App Store. If they were installed from disk they should already be in a separate folder in Applications.
