I have an iMac with Mavericks that is experiencing a lot of "spinning balls" from particularly Mail, Google Chrome, and Word. I took it to the Apple store and it was fast there, at home slow. I have been having internet speed issues, could it be that?

I have a pretty new iMac with LOTS of storage (about 4TB with externals) that is experiencing a lot of "spinning balls of death" from time to time in almost any program that I might have open, but particularly MacMail, Google Chrome browsers, and Word. I took it to the Apple store to be checked out and it was really fast with no issues there. I brought it home and it was better at first but then it started happening again.
I have been having a lot of issues with Time Warner where my download speeds will dip really low, and all I can think of is that MacMail goes and tries to check for email and can't get out to the internet and it locks all the other resources up while it is doing it. It will also take a REALLY long time to even let you look at mail. The folder size is over 13GB (down from 22GB that I just cleared out from - I have a lot of MP3s etc in there) and I will try to get this down to under 10GB which might help, and the mail is on an external drive. I have been told that Verizon is not a shared network but a direct connection to their server, and if I can't fix this then I will try switching to them. If anyone has any direct knowledge on this stuff, I am all ears.

Strikes -
Go into compositionReady and have 3 variables you will be able to set them like this
strike1 = 0;
strike2 = 0;
strike3 = 0;
So on the wrong item click have
if(strike1 == 0) {
PLAY STRIKE1 ANIMATION
strike1 = 1;
else if(strike2 == 0) {
PLAY STRIKE2 ANIMATION
strike2 = 1;
else if(strike3 == 0) {
PLAY STRIKE2 ANIMATION
strike3 = 1;
So this will make it so when the wrong item is clicked each strike will be played in order.
Random Scrolling -
You should look into the Math.Random function to make things random in edge.
This is an example of the Random function. It will generate a random number up to 100.

Lose Screen Score -
So we can create another variable in compositionReady for the lose score.
score = 0;
Now when the user gains a point to add to the score you could do this code on the click
score++;
which would add 1 to the score, However you can add however much you like to the score doing "score + 2" and so on.
To edit a text with the score at the end which I'm assuming you will want to do you will use .html
so $("Text").html("You score is " + score);

I have a MacBook pro that I bought in 2012, I have had problems with it randomly restarting almost since it was new. I called tech support several times and they did tests each time and thought they had it fixed but later it started again. Some times it will go a month and not do it but lately it has been doing it more frequently some times several times a day. Day before yesterday I took it to the apple store and left it. today they called and said they could find nothing wrong with it. But they said they could see where it had restarted 60 times. These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Ifou don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a panic, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.

Did the message say what was corrupt. It is not clear from your description of "...it was corrupt" what "it" is. Sounds like the download of Lion was corrupt. Download it again. Downloaded files sometimes get corrupted due to network connection glitches or interruptions.

Last time they also said I may need to have my iphone replaced - this would then be my thrid iphone in 4 months! First iphone the camera didn't work (lucky I found out on second day and automaticallly replaced).

I went to two different apple stores and both people looked at it and they said that my phone definitely had major hardware issues and that the dock was broken and that the headphone jack was broken but they said that I was out of warranty so I would have to pay around $200 for a replacement or an upgrade. Glad 7.7.1 worked for you, I updated itunes on my macbook, and every time i try to sync the music to my ipod classic, it goes for 23 songs and then it freezes and I get "Cannot read or write to this disk", and it ejects it. I tried uninstalling itunes, reinstalling an earlier version (7.6.2) same problem, plus a new issue with itunes. (It was a clean uninstall, btw, I got everything cleaned out, I think, lol). Video's transfer fine. And no good way to get ahold of apple. That's great. If I have no music on my ipod, it's useless. Think they'll give me my money back? (lol)

Hi, umm so anyways my ipod is about 2 years old now and i think the reason why it started to malfunction in the first place was because i had too much stuff on my ipod, apps, movies, and junk. But now i took it to the apple store and they were able to restore my ipod but when i go home it goes bad again and i try ot restore it on my laptop and it says it can't restore it. Somehow I have deleted a very important folder. It isn't in my Trash and is nowhere to be found. Ive even taken it into the Apple store and the guy has said that it is there but he can't retrieve it. Can it be retrieved?

There is recovery software (do a Google search). When you delete something, the directory pointer is erased, not the data. HOWEVER, the system will use any available free space. If the data was not overwritten, you MIGHT be able to recover it. I have not used recovery software, so I have no recommendation.

I have the original iPad- about 18 mod old. I tried to download an etool program and it required iflashplayer. My iPad wouldn't do it. I went to the apple store and they told me to update my software to iOS 5.1.1 which I did . Now none of the apps I had installed prior to this work. The icons are still on my screen but when you touch them, it just blinks and nothing happens..like the screen is frozen. How do I restore all of these apps and favorites that I had on prior to this update? Please speak in very non- tech terms if possible. I am VERY low tech unfortunately!

You must use iTunes. Connect your device to your computer, open iTunes, select your device in the sidebar and press Restore. Then, you can restore your device from a backup, and sync the device with iTunes to transfer your files to it pressing Sync button

Battery dying faster than normal and I have been to the Apple Store and battery is fine

Is anyone else experiencing this? Both my iPad and my iPhone 5 started to have the battery die 2x faster after the latest upgrade. I have reset it without losing data and I am about to reset one of them back to original. Any one have any suggestions? I am thinking that one of my apps is trying to always load or search for wifi but not sure and don't know how to figure out which one it is.
I have been to the Apple store and they have checked my batteries and both are fine. The staff suggested that I let the battery die right down and completely charge it and then shut it down for a few seconds. so that the device is " clean" and then turn it back on but that didn't work at all.

You can poke around in the settings. There's a lot of stuff defaulted to on that you may not need. Such as notifications. Background app update, background app update. Try turning those off and see if that helps.

Have you logged into iCloud on the phone? If not they won't be there, also just to let you know photo stream doesn't keep your photos forever anyway. It will keep up to 1000 photo's after that it will delete the oldest photo there, it will also delete any photo that is 30 days old.

They can fix it at the Apple Store. I wish you could get it fixed for free, but the warranty doesn't cover accidents like this . It sounds like you understand this, I just want to make sure you know.
