Are you saying that you contacted Apple support and they instructed you to backup and restore your iPad? Or do you mean that you picked up this information from an online support article? If you spoke to an Apple rep or received these instructions via email, contact them again for further help.
I fail to see how restoring your iPad would enable yoyr Apple ID.

This sounds like your language preference is set to Spanish on your Apple ID. I would go toMy Apple ID, Manage Your Apple ID and change the language and contact preferences.

If you have arranged with your carrier to unlock you iPhone, and they have sent you an e-mail telling you that it has been unlocked and to follow instructions to unlock, then you will need to restore in order to complete the unlock.

No, they will not help. You need to have Find My iPhone activated on the phone prior to the loss/theft and then you can track the device at www.icloud.com. If you did not activate Find My iPhone, then there is no way to track the device. If the device did not have a passcode on it, immediately change the passwords of all accounts you have on the phone; mail, banks, credit cards, etc.

You need iTunes on the computer. There is no iTunes for your phone. See:

Forgotten Restrictions Passcode Help
You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.

I bought a new Ipod (5th generation). I am trying to sync it to my itunes. I tunes does not recognize my new ipod. It is registered. I was only able to download purchases I made from my old ipod. I can't upload any pics to the web from iphoto anymore, I click "upload pictures" and it freezes my computer

Whenever I click "upload pictures" from websites like picmonkey, shutterfly, jibjab, iphoto doesn't pop up like it us to..suddenly when it does, I'm unable to click on any pics and then it freezes my computer and I have to "force quit" everything open to use safari.. I have my ipad, iphone, and macbook pro all synced together. I receive all my emails on the macbook and iphone just fine, but don't receive all emails on my ipad. Some go to Trash because it says they're improperly formatted. What gives?

I receive all emails from senders in my address book in my Macbook Pro and iPhone, but some end up in Trash on my iPad, with the message, "This message cannot be displayed because of the way it is formatted. Ask the sender to send it again using a different format or email program. text/plain" They appear to be mainly from competing platforms, android, etc. Is there a workaround for this problem?

If you want to use multiple devices - move to imap, I would even say "exchange", but Google does not support free exchange anymore, since January of that year. So Ironically Icloud or Hotmail would be my choices right now.

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app

    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

But not sure how to do that. When I open iTunes it has a button that say "Back Up iPhone", but I'm not sure what that does. When I go into the sync options it say I have another user account and asks me if I want to merge of replace. I'm assuming it's trying to tell me I have an older iTunes Library, but don't know that. Geez, maybe people over 60 shouldn't have iPhones, iTunes just bafles me.
