See if anything here helps.
If the downloads are stalled or "waiting" - try these suggestions.
Tap the "waiting" icon and see if you can pause it. If it does pause, then tap it again and see if it will resume. If that works, repeat the same steps for each "waiting" icon.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.
If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad.

Sync your old address book with the one on the iPod. You may have to import them into an intermediate address book like Google contacts since that can be done by importing a file you should be able to export for your address book. Without know your old address book that is all I can say.

I have a macbook pro and two monitors connected via matrox dualhead2go. The display is fine, but there is a lag with the mouse cursor. Matrox technical do not seem to have the answer, anyone else?

As in the question, everything works fine, but there is a lag with the mouse pointer, latency issue. I have seen on other forums this has been an issue, but with different solutions, and some with no solutions. Matrox technical team have no solutions for me unfortunately, so any similar user experiences would be good.

How do I delete songs from my playlist that I don't want and didn't download

I have 5 songs on my playlist for iTunes that I did not download and don't want them, but don't know how to delete. Tried swiping from left to right but when I push delete I just get the cloud. Does anyone know how to get rid of these from my playlist?

Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing when trying to delete a song. The cloud icon to the right of the song indicates the song is being streamed from iTunes in the Cloud and not actually on your device. Because they are not on your device, they can't be deleted, but you can choose to hide these songs so that they don't appear on your iPhone.
You can hide the song by accessing the iTunes Store on the computer:
To hide your purchases
Open iTunes on your Mac or PC.
From the Store menu, choose Store > Sign In, and then enter your Apple ID and password.
Go to the iTunes Store.
Click Purchased from the Quick Links section on the right side of the iTunes Store.
Choose a content type by clicking on Music, TV Shows, Apps, or Books from top.
Hover your cursor over the item you want to hide.
You will see an "X" either to the right or left top corner of the item.
Click the "X" to hide that item. A confirmation dialog will appear once you click the "X."

Urgent new Adobe Reader XI shut down while filling out a government funding application. It deleted the file! I hadn't saved it thinking it was being saved as I wrote because the upper left corner said "Secured". Help!

Thanks for your reply. I opened the Adobe document from a link in an email from our local MPP. Being a technical ludite, I don't know if it was a temporary internet file....but I could go & check if there is a folder like that on our network.
I searched my recent files. I checked all my Adobe files. The only recent thing that comes up is a file that has only one paragraph in the funding application.
The same thing had happened to me the night before - the closing down abruptly. I had been saving the document as I went along but everytime I did I would have to save it as something different.
I thought I was doing something wrong so stopped saving - since it said secure.......Which I now know means something different than I thought. I will go check the internet folder - if I can find one.

5 R's not working on Frozen Ipod-any help very much appreciated!

I think that I've disconnected my Ipod when I shouldn't have (when it was on a manual sync. setting, i Think). It has the Apple icon on permanently and doesn't respond to:
-5 R's (no success, despite repeating them on a number of occassions)
-turning the PC on and off
-neither itunes or my computer recognises my Ipod when it's connected to any of my USB ports and therefore I can't resore original settings...
I'm desperate to resolve as I've only got this Ipod back from servicing a week ago and I'd just worked out how to trnsfer my Itunes library from my old laptop onto my new one and just after deauthorising my purchases and I was about to play, then this happens...
Any help or advice would be very gratefully received.

I did the same thing last night. I was at my witts end. I sat for aboout 4 hours doing all the 5r's. in the end i kept pressing the menu button and the centre button together over and over and over for about 10 mins. I shut down mac, restarted it and i connected ipod to laptop. the pod unfroze. I hope that works for you.

Also, I purchased Tiger early on, but can only find my 10.3 Tiger disc, not a 10.4. There should have been a straight 10.4 disc, correct?
Correct, & do not use the 10.3's Disk Utility on a 10.4 volume.

No, the only "Replacement Discs" they might have are the ones your Mac came with, 10.3 apparently.

I did get a response via email from Support, and if it makes you feel any better, the Apple guy said he had the same problem himself with his downloads! He said he had passed his complaint "up the line" and suggested I fill out the form on the Feedback site. Maybe eventually they'll change it!

Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on the router
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. (Is this wiping) See:

Currently I am receiving, literally, hundreds of emails titled "Mail delivery failed: returning message to sender". I don't even use my @mac.com address for emailing purposes so I was very confused upon receiving this. I've spent time researching what has happened and it looks like someone is using my email for spoofing. Sending SPAM emails with the return to address being mine. There's a lot of "there's nothing that you can do" at the end of this question, but I thought that I would try again. If you have any solutions please let me know. Thank you!

Two step verification is a very valuable and powerful feature, and, if the celebrities whose account were hacked had implemented it they would not have been hacked. I use it for every account that offers it, including gmail and Paypal. Unfortunately, most banks, who really need it, do not offer it.
The one downside with Apple is that you take complete responsibility for your account; Apple can no longer help you if you forget your password, no 2 factor devices are working, and you lose the 16 character recovery key. So put the recovery key in a really safe place.
The emails will stop in a few days. They are an example of something called "bounceback spam". Since many sites have become adept at blocking spam the spam is sent to a known "dead" address with a someone's spoofed address as the sender. Then the sender gets the bounce messages, because they are not blocked. For this reason if you manage an email transfer agent (as I do) you no longer report bounces to your users, or they will be treated as spam.

Click on the blue link I gave. You would need to hook it to a computer running iTunes using a microUSB lead.
If you have an Apple Store nearby take it there and see if they can sort it out.
It is possible the display resolution is wrong - you could try holding menu and up arrow on remote together for 6 seconds which will make it cycle display resolutions - but only if it is actually working but showing a black screen due to wrong resolution selected.

HT4915 My iPod touch will not let me turn off automatic downloads and match is clogging up everything will downloads that I don't want. Help!

After getting the match program my iPod is trying to download my entire library from the cloud. I have too much music and not enough space so it is constantly running trying to download and I haven't figured out a way to stop the downloads so that I can get what I want. When trying to deselect the automatic downloads it slides back to on. Is there a way to stop this madness? I can't even listen to what music I do have on it.

Having automatic downloads on does not cause iTunes Match to automatically download your Match library to your device. It only causes new purchases made on another device with the same ID to automatically download to your device.
Try turning off iTunes Match on your device, then turn it back on. If it's still downloading unwanted media, go to Settings>iTunes & App Store, tap your ID, sign out, then sign back in.
