I have an iPhone 3G and when I downloaded the new operating system, a bunch of the apps on my phone disappeared. How do I get them back on my phone's screen?

When I downloaded the new iPhone iOS update, I lost most of the apps from my iphone screen. How do I add them back to my iPhone display? I plan to upgrade to the newer phone later this year.

If you are referring the the native apps that come with the phone they cant be deleted. go to settings/general/reset then reset home screen layout. If the apps are not the native apps sometimes they are just moved along a screen or so. Swipe over the screen and see if you can find them

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

You can create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

Try to boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.
If that helps then you most likely have some security software that isn't working properly. -

I'm having the same problem on an iphone 4s running iOS8; when i updated to iOS8, all my ringtones went missing, and when i got a £50 gift card for christmas (2014), I purchased some songs from the iTunes store on my iPhone. i downloaded songs from paramore, panic! at the disco, coldplay, and imagine dragons, over wi-fi, and they went into my iphone music library; but when i re-opened the music app a few days later, in a place where i had no wi-fi, except for my 3G phone signal, some cloud icons appeared next to my newly purchased songs, telling me to re-download them from the cloud, when i haven't even deleted them. this has happened twice now, and i had to use up some of my 5GB data allowance to redownload them from the cloud. This is annoying and i need to fix this issue ASAP.

Hi, I have just tried to sync my iphone with my computer. I must have clicked the wrong thing, now all the songs i purchased through my phone from itunes were replaced with the itunes that was on my computer, which is nothing. Any ideas on how can i get them back onto my phone or computer? I can see them in the itunes store under purchases, but there are no options for me to download them again.

IF you have successfully imported your pictures to your Mac http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083 then it's safe to delete it from your phone.

If you have deleted all the photos from your iPhone you can't get them back. The only place they might exist is if you backed them up to iPhoto if you have a Mac. If you have iCloud and Photo Steam enabled, then the last 100 photos would be saved in your Photo Stream.

Contacts are designed to be synced with a supported address book app on your computer.
Notes can be synced with a supported app on your computer as well.
Contacts and notes are included with your iPhone's backup but not any iTunes content which should be in your iTunes library on your computer. Your iPhone's backup should have been updated as the first step during the update process. If the backup was not restored, try restoring your iPhone with iTunes from that backup. -
I purchased many alert tones in itunes and then updated my itunes. Now my alert tones do not show up, although if I were to go re-purchase those items, itunes says I already purchased them. Where do I find those tones and how do I get them back into my phone without having to repurchase???? This is so frustrating! Please Help!
1. iTunes won't offer cloud downloads for songs that it "thinks" are in your library, even if it "knows" the files are missing. If you've exhaustively searched for the missing files and there is no prospect of repair by restoring to them to their original locations, or connecting to new ones, then delete that tracks that display both the missing exclamation mark and are of media kind Purchased/Protected AAC audio file. Don't hide from iTunes in the cloud when asked, close iTunes, then reopen. You can download from the cloud links or iTunes Store > Quicklinks > Purchased > Music > Not on this computer > All songs > Download all.
2. Why? Not sure, perhaps 3rd party tools or accidental key presses combined with previously hidden warning messages when trying to organize the library. There is a hint that using the feature to downsample media as it is synced to a device may also be involved, though I've not replicated it. Whatever the reason a backup would protect your media.

After updating iBooks on my iPad all my PDFs disappeared how do I get them back? I reinstalled the app again and they showed up and thn they disappeared, what is going on?
By reinstalling do you mean that you deleted the app and redownloaded it ? Deleting an app will remove the app and its contents. Do you have copies of the PDFs in the Books part of your computer's iTunes library so that you can sync them back ?

I have lost my notes on my i-phone, but I have stored them in i-cloud.
How do I get them back on my phone?????If this happened without you doing anything you might give it some time to see if they reappear, in case it's just a server glitch. Otherwise, you may be able to recover them from your iCloud backup by following Winston Churchill's post here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/22600445#22600445. This is a bit tedious but does work.

i have seen a lot of people do this when they impatiently disconnect the iphone before completing and update.
Simple restore the iphone from your last back up.
right click on the device in iTunes and select restore from backup.
