I have downloaded every update and my battery life is better than any previous iPhone I have ever owned. I see posts from hundreds of people every day, and this is not a commonly reported problem. While there are a few random reports of battery problems, it is no more than I have seen for any other model or any other version of iOS in almost 8 years. Usually problems of rapid battery drain can be traced to bad apps (FaceBook is the worst offender) or corrupt data being synced from iCloud or other sources (gmail, Windows Live, Yahoo, etc).
The simple test is to restore the phone as New. Do not create any email accounts. Do not install any apps. Do not enable FaceTime or iMessage. Do not enable Twitter or any other social networking app. Use it for a day and check the battery usage. You will find that it is working well.

I have been using Final Cut pro v6 without any problems but recently had to reinstall. Since then I can't open and view all my Quicktime clips. They appear white in timeline which means you can hear audio but not view picture. Any tips?

They appear as white clips - audio only no pictures. There are a few QT clips you can view as regular thumbnail images and they play ok. What's the issue? I have fcp v6.0.6 and QT v7. Yes I did software updates which updated fcp to 6.0.6 and QT to version 7.7. That's as far as updates have taken me although i have requested daily updates. I forgot to say the clips don't play in QT view either. Again sound but no pictures when they are played.

My computer just updated Windows 7 (23 updates) and rebooted, and since then Firefox will not open.

There are no error messages, it just won't start. It does not show up in the task manager. I have rebooted, I have tried starting from the taskbar, the desktop, and the folder. No luck. I downloded Firefox 5 to see if that would help and the program ran after the update, but once I closed it, it would not start again. Help! I need my bookmarks and cookies!

I can not get my new Nikon D 810 raw file to load into Lightroom. I have been doing this same thing for over a year using a Nikon D800.

when I go to add my raw files like I always have it said that it can not read these raw files. I called Nikon an was told that the raw files in the D810 are the same as the D800. Something is up.

The raw files are not the same as the D810 has a different sensor than the D800. The file layout might be the same but that doesn't mean any software that supports the D800 will support the D810. Adobe has to profile the new camera and add calibration profiles and then release an update to Lightroom. ACR 8.6 RC supports the D810, so LR 5.6 will probably support the D810 too. Either the physical drive or the enclosure electronics has failed. The light you are seeing is powered by the USB connection, the power, electricity, all USB ports put out. That doesn't mean the actual physical hard drive or the USB to SATA bus electronics are working properly. If it doesn't show in Disk Utility then it is DEAD.
Most of the time it is the enclosures electronics that fail. Removing the physical drive from the enclosure and put it in another enclosure or using a SATA to USB adapter, one that has it's own AC power supply, might allow you to get the files off the drive.

I think I solved the wifi connection problem, just by switching off completely the router! sounds trivial, but in this case it worked!!!

I've personally not seen this behaviour since Firefox version 2. It however re-appeared for me in 3.6.6 and 3.6.7 (current) and it's bloody awful. Makes everything I do take 50% longer ..... great for efficiency in the modern world.
This 3.6 branch is so riddle with flaws which seem never to be fixed. Each fix / update brings with it more problems ... worst of all I see version 4 is already in development but they cannot even get 3.6 right ??? WTF ????
Mozilla must stop chasing version numbers as has become the trend in the software world. Fix an existing version to perfection then start working on a new branch of the product.

Just go ahead and install FCS 3 normally.

You can use the Tab key to select a search engine on the bottom bar and press Enter to use the search engine to do the search.

In the current Firefox 34 release there is a new "one-off" search bar.
This search bar doesn't show the name of the search engine and a logo.
You can type one letter to make a drop-down list appear where you can see suggestions and see the used search engine and that also has bar at the bottom where you can select other search engines that are enabled via the Search tab in Options/Preferences.
You can use the Tab key to select one of the other available search engines and press the Enter key to search with the selected search engine.
Click the search engine icon and click "Change Search Settings" to open the Search tab in Options/Preferences (positioned between Tabs and Content) to select the default search engine and select which search engines to show in the search bar drop-down list that opens when you start typing search terms.
