Has the device always behaved this way? Did this start as a result of an update to the iOS software? If the problem is that bad, you should probably restore the iOS software and then restore from a backup. If that fails, restore as new and rebuild the device. If that fails, it's time for a trip to an Apple Store to let them have a look at the iPad.

Lightroom installed ...no issues. CS5.5 Web Premium downloaded the first file and a message screen popped up " unable to open these files . Search web or use a installed program. The second file of CS5.5 said it could not download because files were missing. BUT i got charged twice even though i didn't allow me to purchase the app the first time around. It showed up on my bill as being charged twice then later credited the 12.80 back to my account for the time it didn't go through. I recently been charged for that app like earlier started 9/14/12. I do not want no month to month renewal or contract with Badoo. All i want is my 12.80 credited back to my account.

Os 5.0.1 startup problems. iPad 2 hangs on startup since upgrading fom os4.

Try a reset. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the red slider.

Since upgrading to firefox 4, pages open up at a greatly reduced size, and i have zoom in with ctl+ about 10 times, which is then remembered, so the next time it opens at the right size.

i just upgraded to firefox 4 grudgingly, as i had this same issue when i upgraded to ff3, which i ultimately dumped, and went back to an older version. pages open very very small and i have to zoom in, to fill the page, and make it readable. once i have done that, those proportions are somehow remembered, and from that point on, they will open up at a large size.
how can i get ALL pages to open up to a standard. predetermined size?
on a related note, the toolbars are also very small. can i make them larger somehow?

That is a problem with the Flash plugin.
You can check for problems with current Flash plugin versions and try these:
*disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
*disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)
*disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

I hate to disagree with all of you who are saying there is no such thing as that. I have trying for the past 2 hours to fix my mom's ipad. Everytime she goes on Safari and opens clicks on a link. it launches another window for "

and few more windows open, and eventually it launches the App Store to purchase something.
It is real. and I have cleared the cache and blocked the pop-ups. I would have attached the screenshots but there is not way to do that.

Reader 9.3.3 crashes the second time I print

Running Adobe Reader 9.3.3 on Slackware Linux 13.1 (Kernel 2.6.33.4, 32 bit Intel). I can print fine, but only once. The second time I try to open the print dialog, Adobe Reader closes - crashes with a segmentation fault. This is 100% repeatable, and I don't even have to actually send anything to the printer. Just using File => Print, clicking Cancel, then again File => Print will cause the crash.
Someone else with Slackware Linux 13.1 has reproduced this, but I know it doesn't happen with Xubuntu 10.04 on the same hardware and same Reader version. So something is going on between Reader and Slackware Linux. Are there any suggestions that I can try to help track this down?

Hi Just an update on this.
This seems to now be fixed on slackware 13.1 and current.
It was indeed the same problem as described in the other threads. The reason it didn't crash firefox on default slackware is because it would only do so when gnome-vfs is installed (which doesn't come directly in the distro)
The cups package on 13.1 and current have just been updated to fix the problem and I have tested it with Reader 9.4.1 and can confirm the Reader doesn't crash anymore.

When using genius playlists my music player is stuck on repeat all. It gets to the second song and then repeats it 'ad infinitum'

If I select a genius mix, the player will play the first song and then progress to a second. It then 'sticks' on the second song and repeats it over and over. I have tried to switch off the repeat function but it will not respond and stays on 'repeat all'. I have tried different genius lists and updated the software to 8.12

I have a similar problem.
"Repeat Playlist" is stuck. The button action shows all three options (Repeat Off|Repeat Song|Repeat Playlist) and Cancel, but tapping any doesn't change the status from "Repeat Playlist". Very annoying.
Additionally, "Shuffle" is completely unresponsive. This is on an iPhone 6 Plus running the latest iOS 8.13 (12B466).
Happy to hear this is happening on 8.12 as well. Okay, not "happy" but you know what I mean...

So I cleaned up the ipad completely, installed the latest firmware and reinstalled my apps : no connection.
I tried all things of resets and forgets. No result.
I have been fondling with my Airport Extreme 5 , but that did not help much.
This morning I went to a neighbor , hooked my ipad air on his network, typed the password and the thing all worked fine.
I have tried to connect the ipad air as an ethernet client, but that did not work. „Not enough power“ was the statement

Yes I tried this manyfold. But did not work. Reading on, I took Tesserac's advice. Shut down router and computer.
Start router after 15 minutes and wait another 10 minutes before starting the computer.
Et voila.... everything is back in working order,

I think you're saying you cannot even successfully click the "Settings" button.
If that's right, try resetting your iPad. Hold the home and on/off buttons together for about 10 seconds till the Apple logo appears.
Your goal should be to get to Settings > General > Usage which will tell you some of the memory hogs on your iPad. You then should clean some items from the iPad's memory.

No, they are in the On My Mac account in the Mac Contacts app, not iCloud.
or are they in a different format despite being in mac contacts? If so can the outlook contacts be exported in some other way to icloud?
Outlook is not compatible with iCloud, check Microsofts site if you need more verification.
If you want them in iCloud use Mac Contacts and move them from On My Mac to iCloud. This will remove them from Outlook.

Contrary to the opinion above, I see no reason whatsoever why you can't set up the new iPad from the backup of the old one. Obviously you will have app updates to make and complete and that sort of thing, but if you want to retain all of your app data and device settings (some of which will change because of the updated iOS), I would certainly restore from the backup first.
If you find that to be problematic, you can always start all over again.
