I have Firefox 3.6.13 and when i click on the + sign a new tab does not pop up anymore. How do I fix?
Neither clicking on the + sign for a new tab or trying Control+T will open a new tab. How do I fix?
Caused by the Ask Toolbar extension in Firefox 3.6.13, disable that extension or un-install it.

Everytime I click on the "+" sign in the top box (next to the Mozilla Firefox Start Page) everything shows up in boxes that I have searched for on Google. How can I stop this? I don't want any memory showing up on all the searches I have done.

Just a couple days ago all of a sudden the "Open a new tab" button wasn't working and even going into "file" and then "open new tab" it doesn't open a new tab. I have to go into my bookmarks and right click "open in new tab" for any new tab to open. I've checked my settings and nothing is there about it. Is there anything that I can do to fix it?

When I click the link "Check to see if plugins are up to date" at the top of the Add-ons Manager page, it opens a new page like normal. The new page displays everything but the plugins and their status. The page just sits waiting for the status results to populate. If I try to click anything at this point, the page freezes and I see a message at the top of the window that Firefox has become unresponsive. If don't click and wait about 60 seconds, I get a "Warning - Unresponsive Script" message. I also see the following information with this warning:

This first happened yesterday, after accidentally removing Java from my PC - I think it was Java 6. When I tried to access Java downloads to re-install, I got the same unresponsive script message. So, I had to access Java downloads with IE instead of Firefox, and I re-installed Java (version 11, update 11). Has Java caused my problem? Should I attempt to find Java 6 and install it?hello eric, does it help when you reset firefox (this will keep your saved bookmarks & passwords)?

I have an older airport express. My airport utilities states that it does not support this base station. I am try ing to use the airport express in conjunction with a base station to air play my itunes library in another room. I have mountain lion on my Imac (purchased new in SEP of last year. My Imac was the last issued with an internal dvd drive.
Unfortunately, Apple discontinued support of the older AirPort base stations with the introduction of Lion and Mountain Lion.
You might be able to use a somewhat complicated workaround.....not supported by Apple.....if you want to try to use the older AirPort Express.

I used to be able to open .ppt files on webpages with Firefox. But now they don't open. Instead, Firefox opens a new tab with nothing in it. I have already checked the settings for which programs are to be associated with which files, but it is still not working.
Uninstall the Ask toolbar and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask toolbar and Firefox that prevents new tabs from being opened.
There are a couple of places to check for the Ask toolbar:

When I like to copy and paste '''email addresses''' from excel, word or any other software, Firefox opens new tabs one after another, so many that you must Force Quit Firefox on my Mac computer for it to stop, and I don't know how to disable Firefox from doing that in the future. It doesn't stop-it continues on and on opening new tabs.You get that problem if you select the Firefox program to handle a file if you get an "open with" dialog.

I have installed firefox 3.2.64. When i click on the desktop icon nothing happens. The windows task manager says mozilla firefox is running but I can't see it anywhere. What might the problem be?A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Most people have no problems with installing firefox as an upgrade, but there are quite a few things that can cause problems. Please have a look at the articles

Post back after you read them and say what you tried. Have you ensured you used an admin account, possibly needing to check the UAC setting, and that security software is not blocking the changes. You should certainly try starting in firefox's [[safe mode]] either from a menu/icon option or by holding the shift key as you attempt to run firefox.
Is the browser icon you see on the desktop, and a firefox icon ? -
