I have Firefox installed on my laptop. However, what always comes up is "Ask" rather than Firefox. Why?

As I mentioned above, I installed Firefox onto my laptop computer. However, what always comes up whenever I access my internet is the program called "Ask." I have even looked to see if I could delete that through my uninstall, but it is not listed. How can I get rid of "Ask" and go back to using Firefox? I have never requested the program "Ask." I have even tried uninstalling Firefox and starting all over, but even that did not help.

You can check in "Windows Control Panel > Programs" for recently installed programs to see if anything from Conduit or any other suspicious software shows up.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

If they just delete iTunes, the music files should still be there. I suggest making a backup of them though. Locate your iTunes folder (The one that contains your library file) and just copy the whole thing to your Documents folder or wherever you like (Just not in the same directory of the original folder otherwise the computer will get confused and could confuse your iTunes library). Then you will have a backup of all your music, plus if you purchased it from iTunes, you will still have it linked to your Apple ID so you can re-download them to any computer with iTunes on it when you feel like it.

Your best bet is probably to start over by cleaning off the old software with the Adobe Cleaner tool:

Additionally, the same thing happens if I am reading an article on the pinned tab. When reopening Firefox, the pinned tab goes to the last article viewed.

That is just the way that pinned tabs are designed. They are meant to be left on the page you want them left on e.g. a web mail account.
If you want to pin a newspaper then I would pin the front page and then open any article you want to read in a new tab.
Having said that there is an addon called [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tab-utilities/ Tab-utilities] which contains an option to automatically revert a pinned tab to the original URL.

If you see CJK (Chinese/Japanese) characters on the Firefox title bar or the Windows Taskbar then that can happen if Firefox switches to UTF-16 encoding for some reason.
The ''RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin'' extension (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) has been reported to cause that issue.
Be sure not to get confused with the RealPlayer plugin (Tools > Add-ons > Plugins) that plays media files.
The extension adds some extra features like saving media files.
You can disable/remove the ''RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin'' extension in the RealPlayer Preferences (RealPlayer: Tools > Preferences > Download & Recording)

When I start firefox, it says the firefox is already running. Old firefox process needs to be stopped to start new one. When I see the firefox process and try to end it using end process option in windows task manager, it says access is denied. The properties of the said process show temporary file running rather than firefox,exe.

"iTunes" itself is a computer program (application). If you want to move it, re-install it. Otherwise I presume you mean your iTunes library (music, movies, etc.):

Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Open iTunes and immediately hold down the Option (alt) key (shift on Windows), then guide it to the new location of the library.

When I start firefox it tries to install an update and then says it cannot inst and asks if another firefox is running

when i start firefox i get a message that asks if i want to install an update, then it says it cannot install and asks me to close an other firefox progams and try again. there are no other firfox program runing and the the loops starts over.

Do a clean reinstall:
* Download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.

* Don't remove personal data when uninstalling.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere (not in the Firefox program folder) and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

Nothing is appearing in iTunes? Double check to make sure the cable connections are as tight as can be. Otherwise, try plugging it into a different USB port.

How do I set Mail to launch clicked links in Safari, rather than Firefox?

I have both Safari and Firefox installed on my computer. Safari is the default browser, but when I click a link on an email that I have received, Mail opens it in Firefox. This happens even if I have Safari open and Firefox closed. In that case, Mail opens Firefox and then displays the location of the link. I can't find an option in Mail settings, to set the default browser for clicked links to Safari.
