I have got a new phone and my old phone was wiped. I backed it up but where do i find my contacts list on iTunes? Or should i be looking somewhere else?
i have got a new phone and my old phone was wiped. I backed it up but where can i find all my contacts?
Unfortunately your other contacts may be lost. Contacts are not saved in iTunes; they are only synced with iTunes to a supported program such as Outlook or mac Address Book. If you don't have these, there are other options for backing up your contacts such as syncing them with iCloud or another service such as Google. Syncing only partially saves contacts in the backup in order to preserve your favorites and recent call lists; it can't be relied on for backing up your entire contact list.

I'm seriously distressed because I don't want to have to delete my music and I don't want to have to pay a lot of additional money to sync with an outside program. Please help.
You can restore from your backup. You do have backups, right?

I have an iPod touch that is synced with my library. I just got a new Nano and I want to sync that with the same library but I can't figure out to do it with iTunes 11
I watched the new itunes tutorial, and if you double click on the blank part of the bar that says music, videos, apps, etc, a button will show with your ipod's name.

I have bought the new Iphone5. The old phone "Iphone4" has the same account as my daughters iphone 4. Now I would like to have separat accounts, is that possible? Can I make a new account and still make a copy of my iphone 4 to my new iphone 5?
You need to plan. Check this tip:

I have just bought a new computer as my old pc has broken. So I want to upload all the data from my ipod touch 4g to my new pc. I try and do this by clicking sync and nothing happens.

It would actually be easier to use the backup files from your old PC. You were backing it up to an external drive? -
How do I get iphoto 6 to repopulate instead of all of my folders being empty in iPhoto? i am on OS 10.6.8
Try these in order - from best option on down...
1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
2. Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new *iPhoto 6* library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Rolls and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Roll Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption. -
I got a new computer and can I get all my songs back?
Got a new computer can't get all my songs back. How do i Get all my songs back?
You can download all of your purchased songs by following the instructions here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
If the songs were from CD's or other sources, you would need those to get those certain songs back. -
I tried to restore from time machine, but there was not enough space to load all my music and aplications. I tried to convert it to mp3 now I have bitrates of 128,160,and 1141kbs. If I try to play a song in the Itunes I get the song could not be used because the original could not be found, would you like to search for it. Will I have to do this for the remaining 7400songs?
Thanks in advanceAsherr130 wrote:
so basically, I have all this music on my computer already, and I've been trying to go through it to cut it down to only the things I want.... can I drag those files directly from itunes to a hard drive
yes. i would ALWAYS let iTunes do the moving lest it loses track of where the files are stored.
follow the instructions in this link to move your iTunes library to an external HD. the article is for Mac. if your music is still on the windows machine, check this read for pointers: http://lifehacker.com/242468/geek-to-live--how-to-move-an-itunes-library-from-a- pc-to-mac-and-back.
also, when I've done that, and have everything on the external hard drive, I can go clean up all the music files still left on my computer.... then I press option and drag everything back to itunes? what will that do for me?
as i mentioned, this will make iTunes reference the path to the original location (your external HD) but will not copy the files physically.
and how will I be able to work with my music and update it after that?
you mount the external HD before launching iTunes. now you can do whatever as if the files where on your startup disk. -
would it work on my computer if i just copied the text tone onto a flash drive and added it to itunes?
iDevices are not backup devices.
Move or copy the content from the old computer to the new computer.
Attempts to sync the content from the iDevice to the new library will wipe the content from the device. -
I can not use iMessage or blue tooth since the upgrade to iOS7. My Apple ID is not being accepted, even with a restart and a password change. I am not receiving texts from others who are sending as an iMessage. How do I fix this?
IF your imessage is saying waiting for activation then do this:
backup your phone to itunes or icloud.
then on your phone go to settings - general - reset - erase all contents and settings - this will wipe your phone clean.
once the process is done, you can restore from the backup you made, then you should be able to activate your imessage. -
How do I transfer itunes songs ect from one laptop to the PC? Right now itunes is only giving me what I purchased from itunes. Not all my songs. I authorized the new PC. If I synce ipod to new PC it will delete everythign on the ipod. I dont want that.
From your Old computer...
Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..
Full Details here > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1751
An Added Bonus is that you will have a Backup of iTunes. -
