I have installed firefox3.6 on my mac with snow leopard, but firefox will not open when I click on the icon.

It seems that firefox installed correctly, but then it wouldn't open. I restarted my computer and still the same problem. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and still the same problem.

Also having the same problem.
I have tried the following with no luck.
*Uninstalling and deleting profile + profile.ini then reinstalling
*deleting the .parentlock file
*deleting and reinstalling version 3.6.8.dmg
*Checked the activity monitor that the application isn't listed as running
*Downloaded addtrap and uninstalled again
all with no luck.
Try some of these first as they might fix your problem but not mine! ;)
If anyone knows of something I may be missing I would appreciate any help.

Same thing happened to me. I ended up completely uninstalling itunes then downloaded it again from http://www.apple.com/itunes/. If you're using firefox, for some reason itunes will not download and I don't know if using googlechrome will also have problems,so just to be sure that it will work on your first try, use internet explorer when you download itunes. Solutions tried: #1) I tried to uninstall the program so that I can download it again, but the screen shows the message "firefox must be clsoed.. to proceed with installation". However, firefox is not open.

Given that the problem cropped up right after updating OS X on two separate machines, it's looking to me like it's just a bug that needs squashing at this point.

Does this happen immediately after you log in? If so, one of your login items is probably causing it.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

You should not have to uninstall Premiere Elements 12/12.1 in order to install and run Premiere Elements 13 on the same computer unless your computer is overloaded and the computer resources are compromised. Just use one program at a time.
Can you still use 12/12.1 on this same computer that will not let you use 13?
What specific Window operating system are you using?
Let us go through the usual drill...
1. Does the problem exist with and without the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
2. Are you using a pen and tablet device instead of a mouse?
3. Did you install the program with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
4. Disable the SLCache Folder found in Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit
Local Disk C
Program Files (x86)
Common Files
Adobe
and in the Adobe Folder should be the SL Cache Folder that you delete or disable by renaming the Folder
from SLCache to SLCacheOLD.
5. Are you running the program as Administrator and is the latest version of QuickTime installed on the same
computer as Premiere Elements 13?

Let's try a repair install of iTunes.
Restart the PC first.
If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "iTunes" and then click "Repair".

In Mac os 10.5.8 firefox will not open at all. Updated latest version, used time machine to get back to older version and still will not open. Have to force quit with message Firefox not responding

Have you tried starting Firefox in Safe Mode? Hold down "shift" while Firefox is starting up. If the crash doesn't happen in Safe Mode, you should read [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]].

12 users log onto 1 computer with their unique password, firefox will not open for them.

I have multiple users (12-15) that share a computer. I installed firefox under my login (Admin). it opens on my login , but none of the other users can open firefox with their login. I have other computers that everyone can use firefox on their login so it is unique to this single computer.

I have exactly the same issue. After FF upgraded on its own to version 5, it won't open from start menu, taskbar, desktop icon, or even by pressing firefox.exe in program files directory. It does so by pressing a link at msn messenger, inside Outlook etc.
Disabling all addons, didn't help. Moreover, I can't start FF in safe mode or start profile manager (Start > Run> firefox.exe -ProfileManager).

Does it show on your device's taskbar (double-click the home button) ? If it does then try closing it from there (swipe/drag it up and off the top of the screen).
If it still doesn't open, or if you can't find it on the taskbar, then have you tried a soft-reset to see if you can open or download it after the device has restarted ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the equivalent of a reboot.
