With all due respect I think you are missing my point.
I'm aware that on Apple devices bought in UAE these apps are blocked and theres nothing that can be done there. My device is bought in the UK so it has Facetime and it worked fine.
I know categorically that iMessage works in Dubai without issue for almost everyong I know on an iPhone, I also know from seeing it that Facetime + VPN works as this gives your device a UK IP.
My question is not the obtaining of these apps but why even with a VPN mine are not working when others in Dubai are?

iPhone 3G is Old technology. When it was launched it had iOS 2.0. Currently, the highest it can go is iOS 4.2.1 and therefore can not handle many newer applications. As you have recorded, it is giving good service for which it has been designed.
Needless to say, if you want to use applications as stated, you must have at least 3GS, whose current is iOS 6.1.2. On the lighter side; Rather than updating iOS they are asking you to update iPhone (Technology). Cheers -

Do you have the latest version of iTunes installed? The latest version is 10.5.1.

I have had problems with my iPod ever since I got it, and it has never functioned properly, even with the use of support. My iPOD simply will not work. It will not turn on, or charge. My computer will not recognize it, nor will iTunes. I took it to an Apple store for repairs, and they marked my total charge time at a whopping 6 minutes before it died. I worked temorarily after I got it back, and it hasn't turned on since. It has never been dropped or mistreated.
Does anyone know what could possibly be wrong? Is there any way to get it replaced without having to spend to buy a new one, since mine never really worked in the first place? If it's under warranty, send it in for service or replacement. If not, then the answer's no.

my ipod touch is allof a sudden not syncing at all to my computor. (I have installed the latest itunes). It is also not accepting the charge from any charger or lead.
I have tried an option found on a different website which involved holding down the off button, and the home button at different stages, but that has not made any difference...Any ideas ?This may be helpful. However, you did specify the surrent condition of the iPod.

It keeps showing the charger pointing up to a blue circle with iTunes inside and will not go any further. Can ANYONE help me please???The phone is in restore mode and the picture is telling you what to do. Connect the phone, by cable, to iTunes in the computer you normally use for syncing, and retore the phone.

Correct. When you purchase devices, they would have stated the OS they needed to work, on the box. This can be overlooked, but it is very important to check when purchasing.
You current OS, is so old, that they technology build into the new devices, is not something your OS understands. It didn't exist when your OS was created, and therefore you need to upgrade the OS to work with the newer technology of these devices.

If none of the tricks like reboot (hold both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears) do not help, take the iPhone back to an Apple store genius bar and have them test the WiFi module. You can also connect via USB to a computer running iTunes and update that way.

I just got a retro clock from brookstone and in setting it up it asked if I want to use current location which is incorrectly "Buffalo" but I do not know how to change it. Can anyone help me find where to change location?
As I understand it, Apple gets your location from the wi-fi router to which your iPod is connected. Location Services identifies the router and then checks for its location in Apple's database. If the router has been recently relocated or if there is a glitch in Apple's database, you will get an incorrect location. I don't think that there is anything you can do about it. You could send Apple a message about the error, but I doubt if they would do anything about it.

I've had this setup for about a year with no hiccups whatsoever. Today, I decided to update the driver for my soundcard and now I have no sound at all. I installed the latest driver and console. Device Manager shows the correct driver being installed. If I try and open either control panel it tells me there isn't a compatible device hooked up. I never disconnected my speakers or pulled my soundcard either. Can anyone tell me what is going on? I'm really confused and pissed off at this point. Any help would be greatly appreciated.TRy deleting and re-installing the FB app on your iPhone. You can deselect the app under the Applications tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes followed by a sync to remove the app from your iPhone. When the sync is completed, re-select the app followed by a sync to re-install the app on your iPhone.
If no change after doing so, try contacting FaceBook customer or technical support regarding the problem you are having with their app on your iPhone.
