I have ipad & Mac,same apple ID, How I communication use FaceTime by my iPad when I'm out my home to  my wife  ( in  home)?

I use my iPhone as a "baby monitor" to keep an eye on an elderly relative while she sleeps in one room and I'm working in another on my Mac. Setting up your two devices to FaceTime each other is simple:
Enable additional email addresses where you can be "reached" on FaceTime. Then enable the first on your Mac (disabling the second on your Mac) and the second on your iPad (disabling the first on your iPad).
On your Mac, go to FaceTime's Prefernces and look for "You can be reached by FaceTime at:" and at the bottom you'll see "Add Another Email..." Do so, then check only one email address for use on your Mac.
The process is similar on your iPad. Just be sure to check a different email address for use on your iPad.

  • If i have multiple iPhones and Mac Mini sharing the same Apple ID, can I use Facetime between the devices?

if i have multiple iPhones and Mac Mini sharing the same Apple ID, can I use Facetime between the devices?

Yes, but if you want these devices to have complete capability of calling each other they each must have their own separate, individual e mail address.  If they don't have individual e mail addresses, the i phones will be able to call each other because you'll be using their  individual phone numbers -- the Mac mini will be able to call the i phones, but, the iphones will not be able to call the Mac mini.  This is because the iphones will be using the mini's e- mail address to make the call, and if they have the same e mail address, they will think they are calling themselves, so the call will not connect.
So, the way I see it is,  if you keep all of the email addresses the same, the only thing you'll loose is the ability of the iphones to call the mini.
EDIT:  Thinking about it, my first sentence needs to be modified.  Your iphones can share an email address but it must be different from the Mac mini address.
This isn't rocket science, but it can make your head spin. LOL

  • Have 2 iPads on same apple acct. how wipe just one without affecting other?

I have 2 iPads on same apple account. How do I wipe one to give to my wife without affecting the other one. (I once deleted some bookmarks and they were deleted on both iPads.)

    Hi joanfromgalax,
The resource below explains what to do before you give your iPad to your wife.  Follow the steps in the order given.  If you sign out of the iCloud account as instructed in step 2, then the data will not be deleted.
What to do before selling or giving away your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201351
Before you sell or give away your iOS device, make sure that you've removed all of your personal information. Follow these steps to protect your data and get your device to its factory default state for the new owner:
    Back up your device.
    Sign out of iCloud:
Tap Settings > iCloud, scroll down, and tap Sign Out. In iOS 7 or earlier, tap Delete Account.
Tap Sign Out again, tap Delete from My iPhone, then enter your password.
Go to Settings > General > Reset, then tap Erase All Content and Settings.
This will completely erase your device, including any credit or debit cards you added for Apple Pay and any photos, contacts, music, or apps. It will also turn off iCloud, iMessage, FaceTime, Game Center, and other services.
If you're using iOS 7 or later and have Find My iPhone turned on, your Apple ID and password will be required. After you provide your password, the device will be erased and removed from your account so that the next owner can activate it.
Your content won't be deleted from iCloud when you erase your device.
Contact your carrier for guidance on transferring service to the new owner. If you aren't using a SIM-card with your device, you can contact them to get help transferring service to the new owner.
When the new owner turns on the device for the first time, Setup Assistant will guide them through the setup process.
Important: Don't manually delete contacts, calendars, reminders, documents, photo streams, or any other iCloud data while signed in to your iCloud account, or the content will also be deleted from the iCloud servers and all of your devices that are signed in to iCloud.
    Cheers,
    - Judy

How do I set up a new Apple ID iPad2 so I can use Facetime between my iPad2 when I'm on the road and my iMac at home?

All you need is the 99 cent Facetime for Mac application on your iMac.  Get it here:  http://www.apple.com/mac/facetime/
Instructions for setting up your iPad are in Chapter 7 of the iPad2 iOS4.3 User Guide

  • HT204380 How do I FaceTime between two iPads

How do you link two iPads for FaceTime

You have to add a unique email address on each device.  Under settings -> Facetime you will see "You can be reached at:"
Whatever email address you put in, it will send a confirmation message to that email with a link.  Open link, put in your apple id and password and it will say something like "verified" or validated.... something like that.
Whatever device you added it to, the other device will beep twice.  First to let you know that your other iPad just added a new email to it.  The second asking if you want to add this email to this device.  Select NO.  If you hit yes on accident, no worries.... settings -> Facetime and uncheck the email address.  (do not delete it, it will disappear from both.)
Now you have to do the same thing on ipad #2.
Something you can give a try... if you have way more than 2 devices (I've got about 10 now), and you have a gmail account, use that.  For a unique email, put a plus after your username and a variable...
[email protected]   your ipod will still route the verify email to you... and the +variable isn't a new email address that you have to keep track of.
    Hope that helps.

  • How can I iMessage from iPhone to iMac or iPad with same apple ID?

    Hello!
I have an iPhone, iMac, and iPad with the same apple ID. How can I message between them with out having a duplicate message from "me" showing up on all my devices at once.
Is it possible to iMessage between two devices with the same apple ID?
    Thank you for any help.

    HI,
I do it similar to that on my two iPhones.
I had an Apple ID (based on an old Dial up account.)
I linked this to iCloud and got an @me.com address as well.
Although iCloud, iTunes and logging in here as Apple Support Communities all end up at the same place whether I use the dial-up email address or the @me.com one, the iMessages server treats them like two separate IDs
One phone then uses thre @me.com name and the other uses the old Dial-up ID
Now that Apple have also given me an @icloud.com name I could use that on my iPad.

  • We have 3 devices used by 3 different people under the same Apple ID, how do I stop getting my daughters texts, both sent and received?

We have 3 devices used by 3 different people under the same Apple ID, how do I stop receiving my daughters texts? Both sent and received.

When you use the same Apple ID on 3 devices it means you are all using the same (email, imessaging, calendar etc).  Since iCloud (MobileMe) is designed to be shared across all devices included Macs, it means all devices setup with the same ID will have access to the information.
Text messaging is relevant only to the number you are texting.  This is done through your telecom companys lines and not on Apples.
If you do not want to have others be able to read any of your information then it is best you each have your own account.

  • 2 different iphones have the same Apple ID, how can I change the apple ID on one of them but not delete the other iphone's data and media?

You don't have to do anything with the first iPod that you don't use anymore. If you are planning on keeping it, put in a drawer in your house and forget about it.
You don't need a second account to use with the new iPod. I use one Appl e ID and iTunes library for two iPods, and two iPad. I have different content on all four devices. You can select exactly what you want to sync to each device and it can be different content on all devices.

You should really read the manual.
"How do you restore from backup? "
Restore.  When given the choice, choose to use backup.
"And how can I check to see if the pics and videos are on my computer somewhere first??"
They would only be where you put them.  What program did you use to import them?  Pics/vids taken with ipod are not part of the sync process at all.  You should be importing them just as you would with any digital camera.
If you did not import them, then they are not on your computer.

  • I have a long-existing iPhone 4s with one apple id and started a job where I received a macbook with another apple id. how do i get my phone to sync with the Mac Pro and secondly how do i get my music on there?

No not bothered about sycing apps etc it is all about calendars and maybe notes. IN terms of how its done I just want it the easiest way and preferably so that if an entry is made on one calendar then it populates the other.
Thgius is beacuse I have my work diary on outlok, which I then link with my ical. I want to make sure that information is then shared with her.
