I have iPhoto 08 and have been happy with it. Don't want to upgrade. But suddenly, when I click on an event, instead of all the photos, I just get one- enlarged- and cannot move to the next one. The photo just jumps up or down. How to solve?
I have posted "submit" twice and keep getting requests to submit again. Now being asked to write a summary! Here we go. I have iPhoto 08 and am happy with it. Don't want to upgrade. But suddenly when I click on an event, instead of getting all the photos, I just get a large version of one photo and cannot move on to the others. The right arrow will not move it and the photo just jumps around.
Note the slider bottom right of the iPhoto Window. Drag it left.

i have a Mac i5 and need to download the application 'Numbers' but everytime I try to do so, it says can't do as the ver 2.2 for the app needs new software 'Snow Leopard'. I don't want to upgrade but dont know what to do??
If your profile is correct you're already on the final version of Snow Leopard (10.6.8). Sure it wasn't Lion it was asking for?
If that's the only version available on the app store, you'll need to source a copy of the iWork '09 DVD - not cheap now - only available via Amazon or eBay etc. -

Have iPhoto image titles been erased with Photos?
When I used iPhoto, I gave all my images explicit titles, and my albums were organised by those titles. I've now migrated to Photos, but all the images seem to be untitled, so I can no longer sort by those titles. Is there some way the titles can be retrieved, or does Photos not use user-defined image titles?
A little bit more exploration has revealed that the titles are not lost. If I select an image and 'get info', the title I gave appears - presumably that is the image filename. But to give the image that title back, I have to copy and paste. Is there any easy way of doing that for the 6000 images already in my Photos library?

What plan to go with to save $? Want to upgrade, but cannot yet.
I want to get a smartphone, but I'm currently on a 2 year contract with 2 basic phones. My wife really could care less about a smartphone, but I'd like one just cause of what it can do. One major thing is the extra data charges I'm sure I'd rack up.
So what would be ideal to lower my bill. Currently I'm paying like $120-130 a month for 2 phones, unlimited text and 700 minutes which we barely even use them. It's lowest amount to get for a shared plan.
Is there anyway to get out of my contract. I'm literally stuck with this basic phone til February 2015. I'd imagine I'm stuck since I will not pay a fee to cancel.
Just really want to see if any way I can get around this or am I stuck til my contract ends. Would going without a contract be best for saving $? I've even considered switching carriers but Verizon seems to have best coverage and prices. Despite them not being too good with discounts or doing anything for me. I've been a customer for several years and never gotten a break from them. Never a discount on an upgade or accessories. Just somewhat ridiculous.You can get out of your contract by paying an Early Termination Fee of $175 minus $5 for each full month that you've completed of your contract (per phone line).
You could look for a gently used smartphone on ebay or swappa (just ensure it's Verizon branded with a clean ESN) or pay full retail price for a new smartphone and activate it on your line. Your plan wouldn't change, but you would have to add a data plan (i.e., $30 for 2 GB monthly). -
Hello there - I am sharing an iPhoto library across two accounts on the same computer - it works fine EXCEPT for Quicktime movies - they play on one account and claim I don't have the rights on the other - all permissions are on and ok?
It should be in the Users/ Shared folder.
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Note the option to check and repair Library Permissions

I imported photos from an old iPhoto (2001) to photo library and can now see them only as thumbnails but not when I click on them. The screen is black cannot see or print either. Is there any way to salvage those old photos? I now use iLife09. OS 10.6
Did you import the old iPhoto library into the new one? That's not what you want to do because you will import all of the original, modified and thumbnail files as if they were original files. Lots of duplicates and useless small photos.
Do you have a backup copy of the library that you imported into to? If you do then bring it in and then use iPhoto Library Manager to merge the two libraries into a new, 3rd library.
If you don't then you'll have to try to fix the current one and then cull out the duplicates and small useless photos as follows: make a temporary, duplicate copy of your library and apply the three fixes in order as necessary.
Fix #1
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your HD/User/Home()/ Library/Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your HD/User/Home()/Library /Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.

Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.

Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
If this doesn't fix the problem you'll have to start over from scratch and create a new library from the files inside the Originals folder of your current library. But first you should cull out the small photos that would be the thumbnails from the 2001 library.
Move the Originals folder to the Desktop, open and do a search for Kind=photo, File size is less than 10 KB. That should find all of the thumbnail files which you can then drag to the Trash. You might have to make that less than 50 KB. Then Import the remaining photos into a new iPhoto library.

Have you launched and tired Image Capture? When it's launched with the iPad connected the photos will display in the window. Select those you want to upload and use the Import to: menu and select Other. Navigate to the Desktop and select the folder you created to hold those photos.

I have an older version of Adobe Digital Editions (around 3 years old) and was very happy with it.
Then I had problems with my Kobo Reader and asked a friend who works in IT to assist. She could not fix the Kobo but she messed up my Addobe. She downloaded version three and I have an account and a password - was not able to transfer my books from my reader to version three (and I don't like the lay-out - I would prefer to stay with the old version as I also loose all my download date info..)
But all the books I have bought over the last three years are in the old Adobe Digital and I cannot access them any more. When I use it I get the message "that the document is licensed to a different account. I can't even open the books on my computer.
When I go to my Kobo library, I cannot also not open my books and get the message "this doc is protected by adobe digital rights management and is not currently authorized for use with your adobe. please sign in with your authorized adobe id and try again"
I believe the problem is that I do not seem to have a digital id for my old adobe or that the Kobo is not in sync with it anymore.

. I have Adobe Actobat 7.0 Standard for quite a while, and I'm happy with it. I use it for mainly filings at the federal court. They require PDF. I use two computers in two different states for work. I realize my Adobe 7.1 is a few years old, but sometimes I have difficulty using it with the other days downloading a boarding pass, and e filing at the USDC. . There's a problem with Adobe Flash, media, etc. and other Adobe programs, (which I use for downloading boarding passes for airlines, etc.) so basically I have to delete these other Adobe programs, besides the Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Standard if I want to 7.0 Standard to work. I periodically download the updates, but there's still a problem. My question is: Can or should I purchase another program to update the present Adobe Acrobat 7.0 standard, or just buy a new program such as the Adobe 11? Am I mistakenly doing something wrong, such as when I download? I'm an old valued customer so I don't want to spend a lot of money since I am replacing my Dell XP for a new computer now, and my other computer is a Dell Vista.

Acrobat 7 is not compatible with these systems (and probably the same for MAC systems), though sometimes workarounds are possible, though not easy to use. I have already set up my iMAP account and recently my trash is not function, i.e. I cannot move my unwanted mail to the trash. How can I retrieve my trash back. Whe I use my ipad to view my mail, I can move the unwanted mail to the trash without any difficulties. How come I can perform moving the unwanted message from the ipad to the trash but not the notebook and desktop.

until I updated him from SnowLeopard 10.6.8 to Mavericks 10.9.2.
2 Days all was OK. Next Morning-Start he needs (until now) 3 minutes to show me a SCREEN only milky white. After that he starts like ever with all ICONS in about 1 minute. (together 4 min.)
..But I must notice, that I cannot make anything, because the „BLUETOOTH APPLE WIRELESS KEYBOARD and the APPLE MAGIC MOUSE“ doesn't work anything like before.

I have a iphone 5 and I can login with my apple id to purchase music. However, when I try to login into icloud using the very same username and password that I use in the apple store it does not work to enter icloud, so what what gives???
I could do that, however when I select the icloud button (or whatever the heck it is) I am asked to enter the apple id and password. So if you are suppose to create another one for icloud you'd think it would give you the option at this point which would be logical.
