I have just bought iphone 4 and when I make calls i don't hear anything from the headset excep when i plug in the headphones or turn on speaker ?

I have the same problem. It only started a few days ago. When I make or receive calls I have to use speaker otherwise I can't hear a thing. I'm also pretty sure that when I try to make calls without the speaker turned on, it doesn't actually dial, but the display says it has.
I've tried restoring from a backup with no luck. I'm reluctant to restore as a new phone as it's such a pain.

I had a similar problem some time back when I bought one from the store.
I suggest you try and plug it in to a computer with itunes installed and an internet connection on the computer. then you should be fine.

The charger block is universal and is able to handle multiple votages. One hour to reach 50% seems fine to me if the phone was completely flat to start with. Just leave it on charge for as long as it takes to reach 100%. I leave mine connected overnight all the time and it does not harm the battery

its not working: (sorry for being so ambiguous), the computer recognises it, it comes up on my desktop, when i open it and try and drag a file across, it is unable to go into the drive, there is just a symbol indicating 'no' (i've read the instructions from Tosheba and there is no help). I have not partitioned the drive using the GUID partition scheme - i dont know what this means?!

When I use my iPhone to call I can't hear anything from my iPhone but the person that I call can answer it but when answer both of us can't hear anything and when I put my iPhone to my face the screen is still on and when I quit the phone application and open it again it will automatic call my recent call. Apple isnt here. this is a user based forum for technical questions. The solution is to restart, reset, and restore as new which is in the manual after that get it replaced for hard ware failure. if your within your one year warranty its replaced if it is out of the warranty then it is 199$

It sounds like you are getting static on both the receiver and the speaker when you make a call. I would use the troubleshooting from the following article to help resolve the issue named:
iPhone: Troubleshooting issues making or receiving calls

Toggle airplane mode: Tap Settings > Enable Airplane Mode, wait five seconds, then turn off airplane mode.
Check your phone settings:
Check your Do Not Disturb settings: Tap Settings > Do Not Disturb.
Check for any blocked phone numbers: Tap Settings > Phone > Blocked.
See if Call Forwarding is turned on: Tap Settings > Phone > Call Forwarding.
Ensure that your software is up to date:
Check for a carrier settings update.
Check for an iOS software update.
Note: Some updates may require a Wi-Fi connection.
If the iPhone has a SIM card, reseat the SIM card.
If the iPhone 4 or iPhone 4s is on the Verizon network, dial *228 from the iPhone and select option 2 to update the Preferred Roaming List (PRL). The PRL determines the cellular towers the phone uses for cellular service, selecting those with the best signal strength.

Your account is properly configured to use the specific iPhone that has the issue.
There are no localized service outages.
Your account doesn't have a billing-related block.
Your calls don't have errors on the carrier system.
Restore the phone as new.
If the above steps don't resolve the issue, go to an Apple Retail Store, carrier, Apple Authorized Reseller, or contact AppleCare to send the phone in for service.

There are a number of ways to delete pictures from the Camera Roll. One is to open Camera Roll in the thumbnail view, tap the arrow button (top right), tap all the pictures you want to delete, tap the Delete button ant the bottom. Photo Library pictures are deleted by unchecking Sync Photos on the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings, followed by syncing your phone.

I just bought my iphone and i have installed the AIM program. As I am trying to connect i am recieving a message that says to access the AIM network i must have a network connection. WHy is this happening. Doesn't this work on the 3g network or do i have to have the WIFI connection in order to use this?

You need to have a "E", "3G" or Wifi icon to the left of your Cell Provider up at the top. If you are on WiFi then check and make sure you are getting a valid IP address. If you are on Edge or 3G make sure you are able to check the weather and get safari.
Some troubleshooting steps might be iPhone > Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings or contacting your Cell Provider to make sure the data plan is set up properly.
If everything work except aim try removing it and downloading it again and see if it has the same errors with a different aim account. You can make a new one at http://www.aim.com/helpfaq/startingout/screennames.adp

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.

You first have to purchase "tethering" from your phone service provider. Then it is just a matter of enabling the tethering within the iPhone preferences (create a personal hotspot), and then pairing your phone via Bluetooth. Here is a support document from AT&T on the subject.
